Hotel Posada de Don Rodrigo Panajachel

This posada is located up from the beach and marina where boats scurry back and forth to the far side of Lake Atitlán. Great view of the lake and the volcanos. Sat outdoors, under a huge canvas shade cloth and had a delicious lunch -- with live marimba music (6 musicians). Ordered Guatemalan foods: the daily plate (chicken, beans, rice, fried plantains) and the ”national dish” -- Pipián (chicken and potatoes in a spicy stew-like broth). The daily plate was well prepared but boring. The Pipián was outstanding!! The restaurant offers a full bar. The waitstaff were attentive and helpful. Prices were not expensive. Overall it was a great experience and we would recommend a stop here before or after you take your boat ride across the lake.

This is a large, modern hotel with all the amenities you would expect to find. Elevator, spacious room, comfortable beds, good shower, efficient check-in and check-out. Wide view of the lake and volcanoes from our room. Convenient to restaurants and services in Panajachel. Our stay was brief, so we did not experience the restaurant or pool area.
Hotel la Riviera de Atitlán

A skyscraper building (I am on the 14th floor) located by the lake. Not situated at walking distance to the village. Large room and medium bathroom size. Gorgeous room view over lake and volcano. Clean but not suggested for the allergic (carpet in the whole room, no anallergic bed covers). No air conditioning nor heating (!). Bed table far from bed. Stable internet connection. Fixed showerhead, rainfall. Available in the room: a complimentary bottle of water. Not available in the room: water kettle, coffee maschine, hairdryer, iron/iron board, bathrobe, slippers, safe. Power supply socket at bedside, adapter needed for EU travellers. Amenities: shampoo, soap bar. Fridge and TV English language channel available, both exceptional as the country standard does not include it. Very kind and helpful staff. No breakfast buffet, the vegetarian option is a fruit platter (see picture). My suggestion is order that only if you are vegan. The normal breakfast includes bread, jam, fruit and eggs.

Very nice and clean hotel. We thought it was a bit expensive for what you get. However the room was fine. We moved the beds around so we could still sleep together. When you’re in the bathroom, other people can hear you. And in the morning I woke up from the cleaners but that was all. The outside noise doesn’t reach the hostel because it is in an (save) ally. Also the people speak good English!

What a fabulous hotel! We were so happy we stayed here. I was traveling with our two adult children (my husband, unfortunately, couldn't come at the last minute). The rooms were right next to each other. Each had a small balcony and overlooked the pool, the lake, and the volcanoes. Only complaint about the rooms is it took awhile for the water in the shower to heat up. The restaurant - hybrid outdoor/indoor - has a great menu. Breakfast was included with one of our rooms but not the other (not sure why). Quite a few choices. We ate lunch here twice and dinner once. But the best thing is the location. The hotel has it's own dock and there's a path just down the road where you can walk to the hot springs. It's off the main road down a small side street lined with locals selling goods. Our car service drove us directly here from GC. The hotel ordered us Tuk Tuks when we wanted to go into Pana which is a short 10 - 15 minute ride. It's apparently part of a group of hotels and ther are sister properties in Antigua, Livingson, and Peten. Highly recommend.
Regis Hotel Spa

Location is wonderful, the territories of the super hotel, there are hot sources. The room is good, convenient, there are storage spaces for the hangar, convenient bath. A lot of greens and flowers, very beautiful. There is a euro socket that is rare in Guatemala. The only thing that doesn't fit all beauty, the chumy staff, is very badly responded to requests. Simple request to pour hot water for tea and give a cup turns into a problem and we see dissatisfied people.

We stayed in a shared 8 person dorm with en-suite. It was clean, and decently quite at night. The staff were awesome and very accommodating at all time. We got our dry cleaning done and it smelled fresh, was folded, and well priced as well. The pool was cleaned daily and nice to take a dip in. The restaurant however, was AWESOME. Honestly probably the best hostel food I’ve had. We are there serval times just due to the food begin that good. I recommend the wings with the Thai sauce. I would most definitely stay here again!!
