The Fellows House Cambridge, Curio Collection by Hilton
4.4/5122 Reviews
The Fellows House comes out of nowhere as there is a ton of construction going on in front of it. However, don't let that fool you as the entrance is around a few left hand turns and then you hit reception. Stephanie immediately took care of us. Our room was being readied and we had a small bite at the cafe near the main door. Ali, from Uzbekistan took care of us. Great attitude, service and spoke really well. The room was very comfortable and the bed was huge. The bathroom was super clean and everything worked with a press of a button and turn of dial. Great sanitation facilities. The pool, steam room and sauna were also excellent, plus the gym was very decent. For breakfast the next day, Pam, Dolly, Dada, etc. treated us really well and the assortment of food was ample. When we checked out, Ashutosh made the experience smooth and trouble free. He called us a car to pick us up and take us back to the train station as we headed back to London, after having dinner the night before at The Ivy (very good too). If you're headed to Cambridge, please stay at this hotel. Highly recommended, Debs and Dave

Title: A Stellar Experience at This Exceptional Hotel I recently had the pleasure of staying at this outstanding hotel, and I am more than pleased to share my delightful experience. The environment of the hotel is nothing short of impressive. Nestled in an exquisitely landscaped setting, the hotel boasts an ambiance that perfectly blends sophistication with tranquility. The interiors are tastefully designed, radiating warmth and comfort. The cleanliness throughout the premises is commendable - from the plush guest rooms to the common areas, every nook and cranny exudes a sense of freshness and hygiene. The peaceful surroundings coupled with top-notch facilities made my stay truly rejuvenating. As for its location, it couldn’t be more ideal. Strategically situated in the heart of the city, the hotel offers easy access to major tourist attractions, business hubs, as well as shopping and dining destinations. Its prime location turned out to be a significant advantage during my trip, saving me considerable time on commuting and allowing me to explore the city effortlessly. The check-in process was seamless and straightforward. Upon arrival, I was greeted by the courteous and professional front desk staff who swiftly processed my paperwork. Their use of advanced technology expedited the check-in procedure, making it a hassle-free experience. They were attentive to my needs and provided clear instructions, which made my first encounter with the hotel quite memorable. In summary, this hotel excels not only in providing a serene and luxurious environment but also in offering a convenient and central location. The efficient and user-friendly check-in process further enhanced my overall experience. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking a comfortable and enjoyable stay. It’s truly a gem that combines the best of service, location, and ambience. I look forward to returning to this fine establishment on my next visit.

No bed for third person made up, called receptionist I was told someone will come and do it, this was at 19:00 no one ever came, even after following up over the phone. I spent night sleeping without bedding, on plain sofa bed without a single pillow. Terrible experience and poor service. Not enough towels, just for one person & again after calling reception- I was told that they ran out of towels!!! This was enough for my family to bare after whole day of travel, especially the room booked was Executive one. So expected to be up to highest standard and service to be over the top, this isn’t the case. Cleanliness is very poor - see pictures. Dust everywhere and this wasn’t one day worth. After asking for partial refund due to poor service, I was given a silly look and smile, advised to sent email online. Do not bother going there.

On the plus site, the room was quiet and had a good comfortable bed. It was cleaned (prior to arrive, but no room servicing unless you stay for 4 days it appears), and while I didn't use it there was an air conditioning control. On the negative side, glass doors for bathrooms (even with slightly obscure glass so I can't see peoples faces) is at best a poor decision, putting a full length mirror on the wall equidistant between the tollet and bed is just such poor taste. No breakfast, the restaurant was closed. Useful bus over the road, and not being able to get a place near the centre had chosen that option, but they were a bit hit and miss with the timings (about 10 minutes late going into town and it was about 20 minutes late in the evening coming back - so two buses went the other way before one came back). There is a nice garden area, and near the hotel is a Sainsbury's with a bakery nearby. I don't really get why they have decided to not paint in the lift area (and left it fairly badly plastered), I'm sure it is a style thing. There is a carpark on site (I think that was £15 a day), two cars tailgated behind me which the hotel didn't seem to bothered about, but were still keen to charge me...

The hotel's location is excellent. I arrived around 1:00 PM, and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. They arranged for an early check-in, allowing me to store my luggage in my room and promptly begin my exploration of Cambridge.

5 points for the environment and the size of the room. It is a very quiet hotel. The room is much larger than other British hotels. But the only unfriendly thing is that you have to pay for parking! In a place like Cambridge, you have to pay 8 pounds even though the parking lot is large. This is a bit expensive. It is a 15-minute drive from Cambridge. It is not recommended for non-self-driving tourists to stay.

The hotel is small and exquisite. The location is excellent. It is a 15-minute walk from Cambridge University and a 10-minute walk from Cam River. There are supermarkets, bars and local specialty restaurants around. The service attitude is warm and the breakfast is very delicious.

Nice Hotel and good facilities. The negatives were definitely the service and food from the Market Kitchen restaurant attached to hotel. Also the jacuzzi was out of action and wasnt mentioned in booking or check in. Would be fine for business travellers who want a comfortable room for an evening.
