It's great that there is now the IntercityHotel next to the Steigenberger directly at the terminal 1/2 of the BER. It was opened only mid January 2023. The rooms are modern, practical and chic, like the most new or renovated Intercity Hotels. The staff is very friendly and engaged, some processes must certainly engage in a new team. You are just a few minutes walking distance from the terminal at the check-in, as well as at the airport train station with remote, regional and S-rail transport. Breakfast is available from 6:00 a.m., the light is available in the restaurant, there is a variety of breakfast offer. After my not so great stay in the nearby Steigenberger, the IntercityHotel Airport BER is recommended. I just hope guests will not confuse it too often with the IntercityHotel at the Schönefeld train station, the names of the two hotels is certainly not so great.

The location is near airport terminal 5, and has a railway station is 5 mins walk. We understand that this is a budget hotel, but we have stayed in better hotels with similar locations and prices. The pillow was very flat. The duvet cover had some holes. Bed sides were chipped. Overall, the hotel needs maintenance. The room and bathroom were clean.

Stayed here recently ahead of an early international flight. This was my second stay here and hopefully not the last. Not only is this hotel very convenient (it took me 3 minutes to get from the hotel to the check-in area), but also very relaxing and quite beautiful. I booked a regular room for 1 through Expedia (it was called “Superior Double Room” in the app), and ended up in one of the larger corner units with a view of the Departures. The room also came with some nice freebies: Vitamin water and coconut chips, both delicious. All in all had a great stay here ahead of a long flight; would highly recommend!

Second time to be here. Location is not that far from the airport but the bus takes long wait. The staff told me the shuttle service is no longer available, so you have to take either taxi or bus. Room quality is good. The Vibes in the lobby is good too. Everyone else get a welcome drink in the bar.

The hotel is brand new and functionally furnished as standard, like all Holiday Inn Express hotels. The rooms are quite small, unfortunately there is no space for suitcases or to unload them (there were three of us in one of the smaller rooms without a kitchenette). The bathroom is big enough and modern, and there is enough storage space. Unfortunately there was no hairdryer, which I only noticed in the morning after showering. When I asked at reception (the telephone connection didn't work), they said they would bring a hairdryer straight away, but unfortunately it wasn't... Breakfast was very good, everything you need was there, but at the main breakfast time (although breakfast times are generously until 11.30) it was very full on the weekend and there weren't enough tables - some had to wait a while until a table became free.

Great hotel, great facilities, great staff, no matter where you look. Always friendly, courteous and always keeping an eye on the customer. Sufficient parking available, which is not always the case. We were slightly apprehensive given the low cost of the hotel room (less than 70 euros for the night) however we were pleasantly surprised. Hotel is really clean and has all the amenities you need for a pre flight stay. The hotel is not located to any bars/restaurants or shops so wouldn’t recommend for anything other than a stay before/after a flight. The receptionist was excellent and there was vending machines which supplied snacks, water and alcohol as there isn’t a hotel bar. The hotel offers taxis to and from airport which can be booked under hotel room. In addition, no room keys or cards are given - just a code which means you don’t need to check out. All in all a good hotel.

Great hotel location, spacious rooms, friendly and helpful staff. Very comfortable beds and very clean rooms. We were passing Berlin and were looking for one night stay. Hotel is very well accecible from highways. Kids loved spacious rooms and big comfortable beds. Special thanks to a very friendly receptionist for a pleasant conversation after long trip :)

Lovely room, good service in reception and restaurant. Great food. Room not serviced on 2nd day - asked at reception at 5pm then had to ask again at 8pm. Girl came up with towels, had to ask for coffee etc she came back with coffee etc and no clean cups - gave up. Bins not emptied.

Ich bewerte hier jetzt nur das Restaurant. Da wird bei dessen Beschreibung auf der Homepage des Hotels im Internet viel zu dick aufgetragen. Es wird von einem feinen Speisetempel mit exzellenten kulinarischen Hochgenüssen,von einer Symphonie von Aromen gesprochen. Verschiedene Schnitzel mit Pommes, Currywurst mit Pommes, Würzfleisch, Bauernomelette, Königsberger Klopse und Sparerips bekomme ich in jedem guten Landgasthof und würde diese Gerichte nicht unbedingt unter die Kategorie kulinarische Hochgenüsse und Symphonie von Aromen einordnen. Es gab auch noch Zander und Rinderfilet. Die Portionen waren sehr groß. Auf eine entsprechende Bemerkung von mir, erhielt ich die Antwort, es wären Behälter zum Mitnehmen der Reste vorhanden. Und unter dem Begriff * feiner Speisetempel* stelle ich mir auch etwas anderes vor: es gibt nur einfache Holztische, auf denen das Besteck und die kleinen Papierservietten in Krügen auf den Tischen stehen. Zum Personal: Man wurde von einer Servicekraft direkt geduzt :*Habt Ihr schon etwas gefunden?* Wenn man noch einen Wunsch hatte, musste man einen auf den Tischen deponierten Rufknopf drücken und obwohl nicht so viel los war, kam trotzdem niemand. Man musste jedesmal drauf warten, dass das Personal andere Gäste bediente und dann signalisieren, dass man noch einen Wunsch hat. Eine der Servicekräfte kam zwischendurch wohl gerade aus der Raucherpause. Sie hat sehr stark nach Zigarettenrauch gerochen- für mich als eingefleischte Nichtraucherin ein absolutes NoGo. Da unser Essen ( Gulaschsuppe,Rinderfilet- gerade noch medium - und Bauernomelette) geschmeckt hat und die Preise für die Gerichte angemessen waren,gebe ich drei Punkte, aber nochmal werden wir das Restaurant nicht aufsuchen, denn unsere Sinne sind entgegen des Versprechens auf der Homepage mitnichten auf eine einzigartige Geschmacksreise mitgenommen worden

We stayed one night at the hotel after landing and the main purpose was proximity to the airport. The hotel room is clean. and tidy A baby bed was waiting for us in the room as we requested. Everything according to the promises. The bed is comfortable and we were able to sleep well. Мы останавливались в отеле на одну ночь после приземления, и основной целью была близость к аэропорту. Номер в отеле чистый. и аккуратно Детская кроватка ждала нас в номере, как мы и просили. Все согласно обещаниям. Кровать удобная, и мы смогли хорошо выспаться. We had a problem with self check-in. But after 2 calls to the hotline, which answered very quickly, everything was resolved and we received a key to the hotel room. У нас возникла проблема с самостоятельной регистрацией. Но после 2-х звонков на горячую линию, на которую очень быстро ответили, все решилось и мы получили ключ от номера в отеле.

We had a large room with large bathroom, fully fit for wheelchair drivers.We don't brew, but well know. Parking in front of the door and in the deep garage is positively noted, other hotels take extra money for a parking. From the price there is absolutely nothing to make, you get a proper countervail. The restaurant is relatively overviewable, the food card is also, but that is completely enough- Interesting the great choice of drinks, the cocktails and long drinks are very priced! There are no culinary elevations, but you don't expect that for the price. At breakfast buffet at 9.00, the fruit was all, you could have surely filled up. But besides us there was only 1 guest. It will certainly be better if the tourism comes back full of drive. Conclude: Thanks for returning.

Very nice, stylish room, comfortable bed, everything very clean and tidy. A great breakfast with everything your heart desires: coffee specialties, pancakes, scrambled eggs, a large selection of cheese, sausage and jam. Delicious Bircher muesli. On our next visit to Potsdam we will book this hotel again - with breakfast 🙂

The staff at the restaurant/at breakfast was unfortunately more concerned that the guest - goes back in time (at the entry I was told I would come 10 minutes before breakfast end. I shouldn't just say later that I wouldn't have known) - or not disturbed (my husband wanted lunch and there was no staff who took him. Therefore he placed himself on a unreserved table. The staff came and thought he was making everything wrong and couldn't sit there. Why and how he does it right, it was not just answered nicely. He may stay alone). A third not so nice experience: At request of the business center deposited on Trip.com to work on the laptop, my husband should pay 100 euros for 1 day - it was probably confused with a meeting room. The front desk was told at the reception that he could also sit in a empty restaurant. When he wanted to do this in the morning, the restaurant staff ignored it. Unfortunately, not such a nice stay for us.

Hotel Maxx is very well located. You live very centrally and are very mobile thanks to the free use of buses and trams. Breakfast was very good and the staff were very helpful. The only thing we didn't like was the thoroughness of the room cleaning. The bedspreads lay strangely in a heap. Wasn't ****** either. Then a small towel was taken away from us and the shower template was missing. The young men should be shown how the German standard of room cleaning is. Otherwise all employees were very friendly.

I booked this hotel for my husbands birthday and foolishly was taken in by the ”superior double” room as advertised on the website, allegedly there were tea/coffee making facilities and it boasted a wonderful view of the river. This hotel was poor, extremely poor, our room was awful ....... if you hung your head out of the window you could just about see the mosquito filled river. The following day I asked at reception about the ”superior double” room and that it did not fulfill our expectations only to be told (by an extremely unhelpful man) that the website was wrong and he asked me to show him which website stated the benefits of ”superior double rooms”, as it happened it was the HRG website (allegedly they are part of the group), although this clearly isn't advertised at the hotel, once can only assume that the hotel is that poor that HRG are now looking at losing this hotel within their chain. The food was poor, hot food wasn't hot and consisted of sausages and rubbery eggs which were freezing, although on a positive the vanilla yoghurt was lovely. I can't NOT recommend the hotel strongly enough ..... and don't even get me started on the closest train station which was scary to say the least. We did a bus tour around Potsdam and there are some lovely parts of it, overall our 4 night stay in Germany was poor, unhelpful staff, rude and unhelpful people, a note to travelers thinking of going, you have to pay to pee everywhere, lots of restaurants don't even have toilets and those which do will charge you 1 Euro, a lot of the self service toilets don't work and so you have to go to an awful toilet manned by a poor child (who clearly isn't happy doing his job)!!! On a positive and that's the only positive I can say about the hotel is that on the day of our checkout (note for the hotel staff) which was 6.30am on Monday 17th June when we were panicking about catching a train we were met by a helpful young man on your reception desk who understood that we were in a rush and so didn't ask us for any payment/further details (as we'd pre booked in advance) who we then met at the station having missed our train to the airport (as the trains from Charlottenof are erratic) he was extremely helpful and advised us we'd missed the train and did everything he could to ensure we caught the correct train (on the correct platform) an hour later, he even made sure we got a seat on the train (as my husband is walks with a stick), I cannot thank him enough and I hope that the hotel staff reading this review pass on our thanks to him, rather than posting an bog standard review thanking us for reviewing. Vienna House needs to post more honest pictures and not just sofa shots. An extremely poor hotel, please think seriously before booking, my advice .... DON'T BOTHER!!!!

The hotel is big, conference-type, and all kinds of facilities are very good. It is by the lake and can park for free on the nearby roadside. The hotel is a bit off, there is a Chinese restaurant in a few minutes drive, and I walked past ten to twenty minutes.

Worst hotel I stayed in Germany during my trip. For a EUR 90 per night you get a small, basic room, dirty old black carpets, smell of sewage in the bathroom and from the air conditioning unit so you have to keep the window open all day and night. There is no safe or any other amenities in the room like tea/coffee maker, water or fridge. But for your EUR 90 you will get eco crazy Management ideas like recycled brown toilet paper, paper cups instead of glass, experimental ROOM CLEANING EVERY OTHER DAY and appalling quality of breakfast consisting of 1 choice of ham and cheese, cereal and a few apples and pears. No scramble eggs or bacon or sausages, and the few boiled eggs that they provide disappear very quickly and are not replaced for 1/2 hr. The breakfast room is so small, people are crowded sitting next to each other feeling uncomfortable during COVID. There is only 1 small elevator and you have to wait for ages for it to come. If you need to stay close to the train station in Potsdam, then the hotel is ok for 1 night, as the beds are relatively comfortable but otherwise I recommend you look elsewhere! I stayed in a sister B&B hotel in Poznan, Poland and it was a completely different experience - a beautiful, new, modern hotel with a fantastic breakfast choice for half the price, so I know that it's the management fault that the Potsdam hotel is run so badly.

What a wonderful hotel this could have been! I liked much about this hotel including: breakfast buffet was very delightful with everything you'd think of, but the sparkling wine's one bottle was finished in the first hour and not replaced! And at $25+, that is criminal! Should have offered coffee drinks besides coffee or tea. What? No lattes or cappuccino? Also, I arranged by email, an early check-in, but front desk wouldn't believe me! Not a huge deal, but why would I lie? A four star hotel with cheap toilet paper and worn towels! Terrible internet that kept buffering, so I informed them who said they would send someone, but never did. Beds were too hard, and I like a firm mattress, but not sleeping on a rock! Carpets in room were worn and stained as well! Wanted to switch hotels but waited too long to decide! Oh well!
