My trip to Luxor was fantastic, largely thanks to this hotel. Located on the east bank of the Nile, it's not super close to the city center, requiring a taxi, which contributes to its peaceful ambiance. The hotel itself is a bit dated, but the public areas and gardens are beautifully maintained. The main restaurant and pool face directly onto the Nile, offering stunning views of hot air balloons rising over the West Bank in the mornings and breathtaking Nile sunsets in the evenings. My city-view room had a balcony overlooking the lobby garden. While the room's facilities were quite retro, the lighting dim, and the AC a bit noisy, the bed was large and incredibly comfortable. The bathtub was perfect for a relaxing soak, and bottled water was replenished daily (though you have to ask for toiletries). Overall, the service was excellent. Staff were proactive in helping with luggage, and getting a taxi was incredibly convenient – just register the license plate at the front desk for access through the gate. Finally, a special thank you to Walid. My suitcase was damaged, and Mr. Walid proactively came to my room with tools to help repair it, all while engaging in a friendly chat. His warm and attentive service was deeply appreciated, as was the service from every staff member at Steigenberger. Luxor is a beautiful place. Visiting its magnificent sites and meeting such kind people made me incredibly nostalgic. I will definitely be back.
This prime located Hotel situated on the West Bank of Luxor offers friendly and clean accomodation.
The local 24 hour ferry to the east bank is a 5 minute walk away.
Bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms with T.V and selection of channels.
Quieter bedrooms are over looking the delightful swimming pools with bathing towels provided.
Breakfast is contintental style served on the rooftop Restaurant.I paid Egp 300 each for breakfast.
Lunches and Dinners are served in the Restaurant also.
An extenstive fresh Menu is offered at good prices.
All the staff are very friendly and the Hotel offers excellent priced accomodation.
The Hotel owners made me feel very welcome.
Highly recommend this Hotel and have no hesitation in staying again.
This is really a hidden gem in Luxor! It’s on the quiet west bank and near to Valley of king, queen, nobles, artists! The Arabic style room, building and garden meet all my imagination about Tales from 1001 nights! The owner is such a kind lady. She will arrange cars and tours at very reasonable price! They also have the best food and coffee in Luxor! The menu changes every day!! All the staffs are also so kind and helpful! They will have new buildings by end of 2024. If I ever come back to Luxor, I will definitely stay here again and longer! My best memory in Egypt!
The hotel has a small courtyard, garden, swimming pool in the yard, the room is also very large, the garden can be seen on the balcony, and the balcony is very comfortable. Breakfast is a simple continental breakfast configured by the head, which is also ok. The boss will ask you what time to eat tomorrow morning the night before? The restaurant brother will wait at the agreed time. I stayed there for five days. In short, it is not bad, except for the poor Wi-Fi signal, the socket is two round holes, and it is very loose, many can not be used, breakfast is less than European and American cucumber, tomato, others are fine. Outside the courtyard is two worlds. The road at the door is not hardened. It is a main street for a few minutes. There are some snacks, a small fruit shop, and a sugarcane juice is very good. You can go to the pier to take a boat to the east bank, the main center is the east bank. Short stay is not recommended, after all, carrying luggage is quite tossing, time is sufficient, there is not much demand for Wi-Fi. You can rest here!
I recently stayed at this hotel and found it to be generally pleasant. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with basic amenities that made the stay convenient. The staff were friendly and helpful when asked for guidance or information.
The location was decent—close enough to local attractions and restaurants, though not in a particularly lively area. Breakfast was included, and while it had a reasonable variety, the quality was average and not particularly memorable.
Overall, it’s a solid choice if you’re looking for a comfortable place to sleep without expecting anything luxurious. Good value for the price, but don’t expect extra frills.
The hotel is located on an island which is not in downtown, close to the airport and a little bit far from famous temples etc., but it is acceptable and quite safe, away from noisy. The facilities are a bit old but still clean. The billboard is not well maintained and can't be used, table tennis and tennis rackets are old, just usable but not enjoyable.
The service is good, we arrived in the morning and reception desk was very busy, after some minutes waiting we were lucky to get our rooms ready to check in before time. Sometimes the staff are over-occupied but overall they worked nicely and kindly to the customers.
The breakfast was great, it is a plus and also every Friday there is Egyptian buffet dinner where you can enjoy quite a lot of different kinds of food, including crabs, fish, beef, duck, chicken and many desserts.
There are 3 pools there and we enjoyed them, even though temperature was not warm enough we still managed to swim a little bit in infinite pool which is the biggest. Along the Nile river you will enjoy good views and even see balloon rising up in the morning.
The guesthouse owner provided excellent service and was very helpful in resolving any issues. Even though I was traveling alone as a woman, I felt very safe and secure there.
The rooftop offers panoramic views of the Valley of the Kings. I ate breakfast there every morning, which was quite good and filling (it included flatbread, cheese, eggs, tomatoes, cucumbers, hummus, fries, fried beans, and black tea). The location was convenient, and I could easily book a ride using InDrive. There was also a water dispenser in the reception area on the first floor. Overall, the place was quite clean for Egypt, and for the price, it was excellent value.
I must say that the hotel is really clean and warm, and you can sit down and make breakfast for us even if you haven't had breakfast yet. Although the location is a bit remote, the whole courtyard is really warm and clean, and the staff are very polite and professional. There are boys sweeping the floor every day, and they will stop when they see guests passing by, and continue after they pass by. It is really a thoughtful hotel.
Environment: Luxor West Bank is very cute and beautiful country villa, like a paradise, not far from the ferry terminal, may be more convenient for self-driving. There are beautiful murals and wall lights in the room
Service: The waiters are very enthusiastic, there is an old grandfather who is very good in English, the service is very meticulous and thoughtful, we bought watermelon in the market and he helped us squeeze juice for free. Later, he learned that he had worked in this hotel for 17 years.
Hygienic: very clean, the tile floor in the public area is bright and reflective, the sheets in the room are not ball-free, the towels are fluffy and clean, the water is a bit slow, but the impact is not big
Very nice hotel, we stayed for a total of four nights, and we can fight for $30 a night with the boss at the front desk. In the chat, I learned that this hotel was originally run by a pair of German wives and Egyptian husbands. In recent years, the boss took over. It is still operating with care. I recommend it to everyone. I also hope that the boss will continue to provide good service.

AAnonymous UserThis hotel is very good, the room we stayed in was very big, we also invited us to drink juice, the next day we saw that our children could not drink tea and coffee, and sent him banana milk. The boss would also help to call the boat to the opposite Luxor Temple, very nice!
MM14720****The hotel was rated 9.1 on *********** and marked as a five-star property. At the time, two nights were over 800 on Booking, but just over 700 on Ctrip, so I booked through Ctrip. Now, it's apparently only 170 per night!
Ctrip's three-star rating is more accurate; this is essentially a farmhouse in a village. It has a rooftop pool and is surrounded by palm trees, cows, sheep, and donkeys. Getting there is inconvenient. It took me an hour to find it from Luxor's East Bank, and the navigation route was even blocked by an excavator. I left the East Bank at 1:30 PM, found the place at 2:30 PM, and then couldn't find anyone at the front desk. I had to call for someone to come and check me in. The taxi the owner arranged for us cost $30. We got in at 3:30 PM and didn't arrive at Karnak Temple until 4:00 PM, which delayed my plans by over two hours. I only had an hour to visit the temple. I wanted to check out and get a refund that night, as I didn't want to stay there a second night, but the owner absolutely refused.
Taxi fares start at 100 EGP. Going to the East Bank starts at 200 EGP, and coming back at night costs 250-350 EGP. It would have been more comfortable to just find a small guesthouse on the East Bank. Both going out and coming back, drivers had a hard time finding the hotel's location.
The pros are the generous complimentary breakfast and the hot air balloon views. However, lunch and dinner are not cheap.
