I went to the Niimi Nankichi Memorial Museum in Handa City. There are many memorial museums and resource centers for writers all over the country, but this one is particularly recommended. Many people are familiar with Niimi Nankichi, as many read his works such as "Going to Buy a Mitten" and "Gon the Fox" in their elementary school textbooks. The museum has a wide range of exhibits and is easy to understand. His life was full of ups and downs, and the episodes of his progression to and attendance at school, as well as his interactions with his family and associates, were explained in chronological order until his death at the age of 29. In addition, many diaries, notes, letters, etc. are on display, which give an insight into Nankichi's thoughts and personality. His short reviews of many writers (such as criticizing Ogai's works) were compiled, which was interesting. There is also a library inside the museum. There are many picture books, so you can enjoy it even for a short time. In another corner, you can watch animations of "Going to Buy a Mitten" and "Gon the Fox." There is a cafe and a shop inside the museum. The only drink vending machine is in the parking lot outside the museum, but they let me leave for a while.
