Poor experience at this hotel. First room service argued they had cleaned the room when they had clearly not and it took photographic evidence for staff to believe us. Also discovered that their check in staff charged the full price room as a deposit ($304) but only mentioned charging $70 at check in; this is an issue as the room was prepaid.
The room itself was comfortable and the pool and gym good. But poor and incompetent treatment by staff would put me off choosing to stay here again.

It is quieter than Hamilton, close to several famous attractions, and opposite several large supermarkets. The facilities, supporting facilities and transportation are very convenient. There are also many parking spaces in the parking lot, so you can park anywhere.
The hotel is located on the central street. There are many restaurants within walking distance. There are also good choices of Chinese restaurants. There is also Kmart nearby for strolling. It is about 10 minutes' drive from Hamilton Gardens. The room is cleaned very well. Breakfast is in the western restaurant downstairs. Check-in is very fast.
Clean and spacious room with a lovely pool, nice breakfast, friendly service, next to the airport but if you drive, it only takes 10 mins to the Hamilton city centre.
I booked a Cabin with Kitchen, It did not mention, the Shower and toilet are shared.
When I take the option in Trip.com, The rest of Cabin did mention shared Bathroom and Toilet, Mine did not mention it was shared.
The staff told me to upgrade it to other Carbin with Own bathroom. I said, it should not be a upgrade, it should included. I said : May I talk to the manager? She said, results will be the same.
If it is a shared Bathroom, it should state in decription.
Other than this, everything is fine and good.
Because I want to participate in the Hobbiton event the next morning, the hotel is set at Matamata, and there is a bar downstairs. So the resonance of the bar at night will affect sleep. Some rooms in this room do not have a bathroom, so when booking Please consult in advance. Even the basin with bathroom is very small. There is no refrigerator in the room. The common kitchen is very small. There is only a refrigerator, a toaster, a kettle and a microwave, so you can only simply turn the food and not cook it yourself.

“An Unexpected Maze of Delight”
If you’re looking for delicious food, sparkling clean rooms, and the kind of hotel layout that makes you question whether you’ve accidentally entered a witness protection program — this is the place for you.
Let’s start with the food: Chef’s kiss. I’d drive across three postcodes and two mildly illegal U-turns just to have their breakfast again. The scrambled eggs? Fluffy little clouds of joy. The bacon? So crispy it filed for emancipation. And the dinner? Let’s just say I proposed to my dessert.
The room? Immaculate. Clean enough to perform surgery in. I dropped a piece of popcorn behind the bedside table and found absolutely no dust, no suspicious stains, and no mystery hair. 10/10, would snoop again.
Now… the layout.
Imagine booking a room at a lovely hotel. You check in at the front desk, all smiles and suitcases, and then they hand you a map that looks like it was drawn by a drunk pirate. “Just follow the driveway, take a left at the third bush, go behind the laundry shed, ignore the goats (they’re decorative), and your room is the one just past the third time you question your life choices.”
I drove around the back like I was trying to escape from the FBI. Every turn felt like a side quest. I found myself in areas where I wasn’t sure if I was still on hotel property or had entered Narnia. Google Maps gave up. Even Siri was like, “Dude, you’re on your own.”
BUT — once I did find my room, it was like discovering a hidden treasure. Peaceful, quiet, with views of a tree that may or may not have judged me. And honestly? It was all part of the charm. You don’t forget a place like this.
Would I stay again? Absolutely. I just might drop breadcrumbs next time so I can find my way back.

MMumtaz MerdjHello,
First of all this is My 3rd booking at this hotel..secondly it's value for money ,very clean ,very spacious inside each rooms ,very presentable, and comfortable beds ..Kitchen was Perfect ,as I needed to boil my tea in a stove top and not electric kettle ,so I loved it because there was stove top ..Microwave just made my dinner, as I bought frozen pizza from pal n save and just cooked it that microwave as it had settings for cooking ..even rice ..but I just had 2 cheese pizzas..So the room which had 4 single beds and one queen bed for $153.00for one night..just enough for me to get up n drive back to NEWPLYMOUTH..
AFTER the 4hrs drive, this room made me so relaxed, so comfy that ,I was wide alert while driving back to NPL.
THE carpark was just in front of my room ..,easy access to my vehicle for grabbing my belongings ..
The service actually was MY BEST experience ..
MANU is like a father to me I mean ..close to my dad's brother's age ..Last booking ,it was him who helped me ,when I needed a room for my husb who was disable due to his recent illness, so Manu had provided us a room ,as requested..down stairs n in front of our parking ..so this booking ,it was him who was ..very polite ,very professional n friendly..I have Been here 3 times ,to reception...Manu is the BEST staff there ...well apart from all this I would like to conclude that from now on..I will continue booking ..at this same hotel . I hope I 🙏 I always get served by the same staff Manu or I always prefer the same room ..4 single beds with one queen..
Thanks for your time ...God 🙏 bless you all .
See again soon ..I wish I could Always book this during the coming summer holidays from now..but I'm pretty sure ...I have to just wait for my commitments .
Thanks

GGuest UserWe stayed as a family of 4 the rooms were emaculately clean, the beds were beautiful and very generous sizing, local milk in beauitful glass bottles connecting the local rural communiy was a great touch. All appliances were new and whisper quiet, which meant we all slept very well. Glenys gave us plenty of advice on where to take the children, local hot pools were a hit and the domain next door with playground gardens and basket ball courts for free family fun, the exploding geyser was great entertainment, very handy location to all the walking tracks up mt Te aroha, supermarket and shops easy walking distance from motel.
The service was second to none.
Rod and Glenys were amazing hosts who went above and beyond to make sure we all had the best stay.
We had car trouble, and they opened their garage and time to help us get back on the road forever grateful.Truely, beautiful caring people.
We will be back again soon and have told all our friends and family of our new favorite motel

GGuest UserThe accommodation was modern, immaculately clean, and provided a high level of comfort. The cleaning staff excelled, delivering service that surpassed expectations. Overall, the experience was positive. However, it would have been beneficial to be informed in advance that the check-in office is located offsite, requiring approximately a 4 minute drive from the main premises. This information would have streamlined the arrival process.
AAnonymous UserWelcome was good. The reception staff were friendly and accommodated our request for a river facing room. Overall the service was just okay for it's price. For its price, I feel that parking should be included. A limited parking that can be reserved at $36 was offered when I called in a day before as well as a free parking further down the hotel that is not guaranteed. We availed of the additional $36, this includes a valet service. The hotel room design was as expected of Novotel hotels, but it was not up to it's best standard. The remote control and kettle in our room was dusty. Amenities needed to be requested, I did this in advance during booking. But there were no slippers in the room upon arrival except for the 4 towels requested. Breakfast buffet was just the usual fare.
GGuest UserBasically, this hotel (inn) has everything you want, but the quality is not high. The biggest advantage is that it is very convenient if you are traveling by car. The fact that you can park your car at the door is very good. Don’t count the other things. , which is also good. There is a large supermarket opposite which is convenient for shopping!
GGuest UserHuge rooms, the biggest I've had in New Zealand, however the room was sparsely furnished so they could have made better use of the space which was effectively wasted. For instance there were no chairs to sit in. A pair of chairs with a side table would really make a difference. Its a historic hotel but very much 'faded grandeur', however I knew when I booked that the hotel wasn't the most modern and that was ok as I wanted that historic feel. It's not everyday that you stay inthe same hotel that Queen Elizabeth did (in 1953). The bed was comfortable, the shower hot (a huge bathroom too) and the staff were helpful. Great location right in the city centre too.
CCalifornia JeanWe loved our stay at the Hahei Beach Resort! The room was lovely, complete with a private deck looking onto trees where the birds love to share their joie de vivre. Great beach location, wonderful for swimming and walking, fantastic hike up the hill to the lookout. The resort is like a club - very friendly, with camping facilities and a central area with a burger shop, pizza joint, and bar. The pizzas were amazing!!! Hahei town is an easy walk from the resort. Getting out of Hahei to see other Coromandel Peninsula sites requires a bit of a drive, but I think that keeps the town mellow. We would go back in a heartbeat.
Rreturn visitorA tiny motel, has basic amenities. Didn't know there's a communal kitchen until we were leaving.
It's a good stop over point, but most of the town closes either early or has long weekends, so make sure you have supplies beforehand. When we arrived there there was no reception, had a number and person to ring, the entrance is a bit tricky ”around the back”...yep that's exactly what it is.
