Located right across Mito station, supermarkets, restaurants, and cafes were easily accessible. The rooms were also a decent size, and the reception staff were very helpful. Parking was 600 JPY a night just outside the hotel.

The room was on the side of the station rotary. The window was about 20cm wide, so I was able to put my book or smartphone on it, or sit down and look outside. It wasn't a very large room, but it was nice to be able to spend time there without feeling closed in. The large public bath ♨️ had a strong chlorine smell. Also, there was no staff at the entrance to the breakfast venue, so I was confused when handing over the ticket. The breakfast buffet had both Japanese and Western dishes. The selection was just right. The room was generally clean, and I was very satisfied with the price. I would use it again if I had the opportunity.

I came from Mito to Oarai. There are shuttles, but there is a bus that goes right in front of the hotel, so it was easy to get there. If you are lucky, you can also take the signboard wrapping bus. This is also a project to attract Koreans in Ibaraki Prefecture, and I made a reservation for 70,000 won per night including breakfast. I made a standard twin room with a spacious 24m². The front desk is on the 2nd floor and the embankment is on the 3rd floor. Unfortunately, there is no elevator, so if you have heavy luggage, it may be difficult to go up and down the stairs. The room is like home, so you can take off your shoes and walk around barefoot or in slippers, and the bathroom and toilet are completely separate. However, the sink is a little small, and it feels like a traditional Japanese toilet, so it is still unfamiliar. However, if you want to use the large bath at the hotel, you can use the large bath as much as you want within a set time at the Oarai Hotel, which is about a 3-minute walk away, so I washed up here every day. Foot massages, green tea, and ice cream are also free. Since it is a large room, there are two beds and a charger next to it, so you can use your phone while sleeping! Oarai is a small town, so it is much easier to get around by bicycle than by bus. Usually, you can rent an electric bicycle at the station for 1,000-1,500 yen per day, but this hotel rents an electric bicycle for 600 yen per day, so I rode it for 1,800 yen for 3 days, which was a good deal. You can ride it as much as you want until midnight, and when you are done riding, you can bring it to the front desk and they will recharge it. There are two types of breakfast: a buffet and a set meal. According to my guess, it is a buffet on weekends and a set meal on weekdays. Either way, it is delicious and plentiful, and eating breakfast while looking at the ocean right in front and the torii on the ocean was really emotional. I want to take pictures of the life-size signboards that I haven't been to and go to the stores that I haven't been to, so I want to stay here if I come back later.

I was a bit disappointed that the Ocean Torii Gate was a little ways from the hotel. Having said that the ocean view from our room was very nice. The meals were delicious and staff very helpful. Sadly our room was very dusty and the bath seemed to be in need of a good clean so we just showered. There was wallpaper beginning to come off the walls and the sliding door blinds and door surrounds were quite dirty. Disappointing considering the room price.

悠長 旅遊 日記 2025.08.02
Hoshino Resort BEB5 Tsuchiura is a vibrant hotel in Tsuchiura City, Ibaraki Prefecture, conveniently located near Tsuchiura Station. Designed for young people and cycling enthusiasts, the hotel embraces the ”cycling lifestyle” theme, offering free bicycle rentals, a repair station, and the option to bring your own bike to your room. It seamlessly connects to the 180km Lake Kasumigaura loop. The spacious rooms feature modern styling with Japanese tatami elements and are equipped with high-speed Wi-Fi, comfortable beds, and private bathrooms. Guests generally praise their cleanliness and comfort. The hotel's 24-hour café offers a relaxed atmosphere, featuring an industrial-style design and a large screen broadcasting live cycling events. Bringing your own food is welcome, adding to the casual atmosphere. While the service is friendly and attentive, breakfast is available for an additional fee and the selection is somewhat limited. The hotel is ideal for travelers seeking freedom and exploration, especially those who cyclists or those on short trips, though the design may not appeal to those with a more traditional taste.

A decent hotel. The service was excellent. They offered free dandan noodles for a late-night snack. The hot springs were excellent. It happened to be the Lantern Festival, and the open-air baths, enjoying the cool breeze and bright moonlight, were quite relaxing. Just be sure to pay attention to the bus schedule from the hotel to the station. When booking, I thought it would run every hour, but it turned out to be only available at 15:10. Although we missed the shuttle, the bus was quite convenient. Just be sure to prepare small change in cash or PayPay. I personally think the 100-year-old plum wine is superb. Highly recommended.

The front desk clerks are attentive and polite. The room is spacious. We can see Hitachi Station and the sea view from our room. We can also see the sunrise in the morning🌅 which is great. The tissues used in the restroom were very soft and impressed. Free lounge has a comfortable environment and is a great place to hang out and chat with friends.

I used the hotel for a meeting right next to it. There are restaurants, 100 yen shops, Muji, a home center, and a supermarket that's open late, all within walking distance. There is an express bus from Tokyo Station to Kashima Shrine every 10 to 20 minutes from the nearby Kashima Central Hotel, so you can get there even without a car. The rooms are spacious for a business hotel, and there is a large public bath. Everything was clean and there was no discomfort whatsoever. I would like to stay here again if I have business in the area in the future.

FFontaneI live on the 4th floor. I see the rooftop of the quarantine building when I go out of the hotel window. I will see someone eating smoke on the rooftop. I can call it a smoker. It feels too safe! The wall is so thin, it is easy to hear the isolation room talking. Although the hotel staff is not very good in English, they try their best to solve it with Google translate!

NNaYaTsThe hotel is easy to find. As parking lot 1 was full, the staff took the initiative to instruct us to park in another parking lot. However, the parking lot sign was unclear and it took a long time to find it. The room is very spacious and the suitcase can be fully opened, which is great!

GGuest UserService was very good. But hotel is old and not as clean as picture shows. But many many antiques in the lobby area.. .the carpeted area in the room needs to change. It feels dusty and like not vacuumed. The futons were ready ,rolled up at the side of the room. We jus unrolled them at bedtime. They have the smallest pillow I've seen after staying in hundreds of ryokans across Japan.. Their dinner is the best I've had . Very full meal. Lobster included and very delicious. Breakfast was simple and good. With the important seasonal food . Meals in this ryokan is worth bragging about. Hotel can be better if some renovation is done to the soiled carpets and a good cleanup of the rooms.. Advantage of being able to leave car at the car park lot and walk 3mins to the nearby riverside garden.. The elderly couple running the ryokan were very friendly and helpful. Very kind people.

AAnonymous UserThe room is clean and spotless. Amenities such as face/batth towel, coffee drips, face cream etc are self-helped. We ran into issue checking in as we reserved 2 rooms for 3 pax. Somehow the reservation was confused and we had to pay additional for 3rd person. Thankfully it was resolved by Trip.

FFENGLINFront desk: The service is very good, there is a Taiwanese sister who speaks Chinese, and the communication depends on her. In the middle of the night, there should be only one security grandfather. Food: Everything is delicious. It is available in the morning and evening, but it needs to be booked in advance. The food office near the 3 or 4 o'clock in the afternoon will be off work. If the hotel is expensive, the hotel also has instant noodles. But it is recommended to try dinner, it is delicious. Hot springs: There is an open air! if you are willing to! You can go to the bubble 24 hours a day! And very few people! One word: cool! A variety of skin care, cleaning products, are also very easy to use (sensitive skin measured), it is worthwhile to try to empty. Room: The room is spacious and it looks like which one you booked. Shrine: The Tsukuba Shrine is going out and turning right. When you look up at the hotel door, you will see the bird house. From that bird house, you will enter. After visiting the shrine, go to the orbital station and follow the tips on the left to climb some steps. The track goes back and forth 1050 yen. The top of the mountain: To the top of the mountain is the male body mountain, very close; to the right is the female body mountain, the mountain road is not easy to walk, 15 minutes, you can go to a mountaintop, there is a small hall. You can choose to take the cable car over there, but will not return to the hotel.

GGuest UserThe staff were very nice, I had no difficulty checking in, and I received a free meal (frozen to put in the microwave). There is a Lawson just a block away. The room was very clean (no odor at all), much more spacious than I expected, and there were plenty of electrical outlets, even one next to the bed. There was an air purifier/humidifier and an AC/heating unit. Some people probably like the firmness of the bed, but I would have preferred it to be softer. I wished there was a reading lamp at the head of the bed. FYI: There are steps to enter each room and a large step into the bathroom.

NnomadsenseiAlthough it is countryside, it is very close to the train station. About 2 minutes of walking. Front desk staff members were helpful to accommodate the room request. The bathroom in the room was quite clean. However, the shampoo and body soap in the room was low quality. But luckily you can go to the entrance area to pick up another variety of soap and shampoo. I appreciated that they had DHC skin care set in case you didn't bring it with you. There is a convenience store across from the hotel. So I was thankful for that. Otherwise, there is a bakery and an izakaya and that is it. 🙂
