Check-in was very smooth. In fact, they allowed us to check in earlier - about 1 to 2 hours earlier, I think. The room was already ready, so they allocated it to us when we arrived. The room itself was rather small but functional and clean, so we don’t really have any complaints other than it being a bit small. I guess this is Japanese standards. The pricing is fairly more expensive than the inns across the road, perhaps because of the location and also because it is very new. The property itself has a very nice onsen. The female onsen had a lot of apples floating in it, which was a very nice touch to showcase Aomori apples. The front desk staff are very nice and very friendly. They also have staff who can speak Chinese. Not that I am Chinese, but I can speak some Chinese better than Japanese, which I can’t speak at all. Nevertheless, the staff could converse in English, or at least some basic English. There’s free yoga and some classes, but we didn’t utilise them as it’s not really useful for tourists who would rather spend time outside the hotel. This seems more suited for locals who want a short getaway, but still a very lovely touch. Breakfast is paid separately and does not come with the room, so there is no comment on that. The property provides Nespresso capsules in the room, and there is also a better Nespresso machine near the check-in counter. I also love that they provide water for free without having to pay extra. The lounge is available for everybody and overlooks the bridge. They provide some free snacks and drinks depending on the timing - different items in the morning and in the evening. That being said, there is no alcohol being served. Also, the coffee there is very bad. I don’t understand why they don’t put the Nespresso machine in the lounge since they have one at the lobby. Overall, everything was quite perfect for this hotel. In fact, the location was the most perfect part. Once you exit the train station, you enter an elevator that goes up to the hotel. Since it was winter, I was afraid I would need to drag my bags for a long time, but it’s right outside the exit after you tap your card and turn left. If I remember correctly, the elevator is right there and there is no need to go outside at all. However, there are only two elevators servicing the entire building, so there might be some waiting time. I would advise leaving earlier if you have a train to catch. The only reason this is not a full-star review is because I requested about a one-hour late checkout due to our train time, and they told us we needed to pay - if I remember correctly, ¥2,000 per hour. I felt they were very rigid about the 11 am checkout time. To be honest, even if they had given it to us, we probably wouldn’t have used it anyway, as we later decided to change our train time to leave Aomori, since there isn’t much to do here. Still, the rejection and inflexibility made us feel very uneasy and unwelcome. I think they could have handled this better by being less rigid and more human. So that’s minus points from us. After all, this is part of hospitality, and it doesn’t hurt.

The hotel boasts an excellent location. There's a Lawson convenience store right downstairs, which is super handy for grabbing anything you need. You'll also find a wide variety of restaurants nearby. The bus stop is just a minute's walk away. Aomori Station, the seafood market, and Nebuta House are all within a 6-7 minute walk, and there are plenty of souvenir shops too. It's worth mentioning that, as expected from the land of apples, the apple-themed activities and juices are incredibly fragrant and sweet.

A stylish, modern hotel with reception on the 5th floor. Nice seating or working area near reception, also amenities and a microwave. Room nice and adequate size for a short stay. On arrival the room was prepared for single occupant but this was quickly corrected. Location fine for walking to supermarkets and train/busses.

When I book hotels in Japan, two things are most important to me: 1) Close to a JR station; 2) Separate toilet and bathroom. Looking purely at distance, Toyoko Inn and Route-Inn are closer to the station and cheaper. However, after staying at MyStays, I'm so glad I chose it – I really made the right decision! It's also very close to the train station, and there are many restaurants and izakayas downstairs (a Western restaurant across the street, even though its Google rating isn't high, we ate there two nights in a row and the food was pretty good!). Each of our family of three had our own bed! The support was sufficient, very good! The building looks yellow and old from the outside, but it's really nice inside! Don't be fooled by its exterior! Five-star rating.

We took ANA to Aomori Airport. To get to the hotel, you can take the Aomori Airport Limousine Bus towards Aomori Station and get off at Ken-Odori Station (the third to last stop). The drop-off point is only about ten meters from the hotel, which is very convenient. The hotel's facilities are new and clean, and the service is warm. The hotel also has a hot spring that guests can enjoy for free every day. After 9:30 PM, complimentary ramen is served as a late-night snack. What needs improvement are the pillows; they are a bit hard, and I found them uncomfortable. It would be perfect if there was a choice between a firm and a soft pillow.

It’s a very large hotel that can probably accommodate hundreds of guests. There were quite a few tour groups staying at the same time, which made the onsen a bit noisy — but that’s quite common when traveling alongside tour groups.

A great hotel. The room, while compact as usual, was incredibly well-equipped, fitting everything you could possibly need into a small space. We had a large and a small suitcase, and had to open them separately – it was a bit of a squeeze, but we made it work. There's a laundry room with washers and dryers. A communal hot spring bath is available on the same floor. In the evenings, they offer complimentary ice pops, and Yakult during the day. The lobby features a complimentary refreshment station with coffee, tea, and other drinks. Be warned, the coffee is bitter and scalding hot, so if you're particular about your brew, you might want to skip it. If you do decide to have one, I strongly recommend finishing it before heading out, as there are no trash cans on the street outside! 😂

March 26th 2025 - Japan had Gale wind advisory which means the wind gusts were strong enough to cause JR and other rail services to be impeded by delays. Unfortunately this delay caused us 8-10 hours of our time. We had no option but to stay the night in Aomori as past midnight there are no public transportation services other than taxi. From Shin Aomori to this hotel it cost us just around 1000 yen which was well worth it - considering it was cold and windy. The Hotel is located about 5-8 minute walk away from 7/11 and a Lawson, maybe 10-12 minutes from the Family Mart. This is a Port city so it is unique in a way I cannot describe. Its quiet, yet there are karaoke bars and regular bars open well past 2AM - this is different than most cities in Japan. The taxi service here is strong; we used Go Taxi. Uber eats is possible here as well as we ordered around 12:30 am and got our food within an hour from order time - everything made fresh and the restaurant was slightly further than found in bigger cities. The hotel’s amenities were outstanding- all sorts of skin care, the standard Japan amenities (comb, toothbrush, razor, head band for when you wash your face, cotton swabs, you name it they had it. Well i mean to convey the fact that even higher end hotels dont carry nearly as much. The staff was extremely helpful and efficient. Used Papago to translate and communicate and there was no issue. Last minute booking 70$ and I was impressed considering ive stayed in hotels triple the price with less room, poor cleanliness, and overall disappointment. Not this hotel, extremely great and happy my fate led me to this hotel.

We love the view from our room on the 7th floor. The free wifi is fast in the room, around the hotel, and in the restaurant. We had buffet dinner and breakfast included room rate. We enjoyed both meals. All travelers must added meals with their room because there is no restaurant or convenience stores within 10km radius. There is a gift shop and convenience stores located inside the hotel. We recommend this hotel; and we’ll come back again.

GGuest UserMy main reason to go to Ajigasawa was to visit the Takayama Inari Shrine with its snaking Tori gates. It’s about a tenth the length and size of Kyoto’s. Found this ryokan by reviews in the area. It was a toss up between this and the nearby hotel; which turns out to be run by the same group! The ryokan shows its age. But it’s very comfortable, clean and the service, especially by Noro who used his translation app so well, was impeccable! They have map of the property in English. If you drink (alcohol), it’s available in spades! There’s unlimited snacks, water, soda, popsicles, coffee, tea and alcohol for guests. The onsen is open to public, it seemed like the whole village descends after dinner to have a dip! We spent one night: dinner and breakfast were excellent!

GGuest UserGood location with lots of buses, there is an ATM in the convenience store next door which is useful. The building is very old and the furnishings could definitely be replaced. There is no air conditioning, the hotel sets the temperature and you choose how much to open the vent. Unfortunately the seal on the window in my room was broken so I was very cold and there was a lot of road noise. The bed was comfortable but the lights in my room would flicker and overall I think the appliances need to be replaced. I appreciated the curry and rice but even the doors don’t automatically lock and I was a bit scared as I was a woman staying alone. It’s okay for the price but I think if they replaced the furnishings it would look a lot better.

GGuest UserBreakfast and dinner are divided into Japanese and Western styles. Dinner is very ceremonial, especially French food. The hotel is very close to the ski resort and Suantang Hot Spring, and there is a shuttle bus. The restaurant has a good view. It is very pleasant to sit in the warm restaurant, drink hot coffee, and look at the snow outside.

GGuest UserFor less than 1400, supper comes out for supper, breakfast comes out. After breakfast, each person drinks a cup of coffee or tea at the bar. The hot spring is free to soak. It is only 20 minutes away from Aomori by tram. I think it is worth taking a half day alone as a relaxing trip. After all, Aomori is very small. I live in the city for a day to see the House of the Sandman and my favorite punch card. Hoshino, why not try it! It's not easy to find a hot spring street that is not in the old forest in the mountains these days (in fact, the hotels in Asamushi are a bit scattered). Talk about the shortcomings, the hotel welcomes you free of charge, but you need to make an appointment or call after you arrive at Asamushi Station. You do n’t need to worry about Japanese if you are in Japan. Even more trouble. However, you can try your luck. Saturday's pick-ups may be intensive, and we just happened to get in the car. If you go by yourself, it ’s not as easy to find as the other ones. Yu Zhi Tang is next to him, and it ’s not easy to find. On the contrary, those who can see the sea are very eye-catching and easy to find. The room is a bit small, to be honest, but eating well can make up for some regrets.
