The park plaza was a last minute choice for us as we had originally booked into an extremely horrifying Airbnb but we were so lucky to book their last room! It’s in such a prime location with a beautiful view of the parliament building and tram / metro stops within a 5 min walk.
The staff were really accommodating and informative and always smiling which is so lovely to see in the morning.
The only issue we experienced was the malfunctioning AC but they tried their best to resolve it and even offered a room change and complimentary drinks to show their care.
Overall, it was a great stay and I will definitely look to them next time k go to Budapest. Thank you!
The location is superb, right on the riverbank and directly opposite the Parliament Building. It's also incredibly convenient, with the metro station just a minute's walk away. The room size and amenities are standard, nothing particularly remarkable. The front desk staff were quite helpful, and the restaurant boasts a fantastic view!
I had an excellent stay in this hotel, is very well located. The room was extremely comfortable. Had an issue with the Safe and the TV and both were promptly addressed and solved. Also the breakfast with great variety and in reasonable hours.
Hotel was in the perfect location, close to almost every one of the famous spots in Budapest
Also very close to a stop of the Hop On/Hop Off bus.
The Staff was very nice, friendly and helpful
Breakfast was incredible and rich with options
Hotel was alright. In our room behind curtains there was plenty of dust. Young men at the reception were pretty slow. One of them forgot to return our ID card. Klimt bar had a great staff, lady working in there was very lovely. Good Budapest is big so next time we can choose different hotel.
Excellent location, right in the city center, and surprisingly quiet despite being street-facing. The room was clean, spacious, and quiet. It featured a shower, complimentary shared restrooms, and paid laundry service was available. A big plus was having considerate roommates.
I booked a room with a high floor city view online but they just gave me a room with low floor garden view. Therefore, I asked them to change the room with a city view for me.
They assigned me to a low floor city view this time. I've already given up on the levels of the floor aiming to make everyone's life easier. However, I discovered that the door can't be locked and the sink drains really slow in a speed that is honestly unacceptable in my new room. I was really frustrated to go down to the reception to change a new room again.
As a 4 star hotel, I'm absolutely disappointed that they didn't even have the intention to come up to my room and pass me a new room key with apologies but instead, they asked me to go down with all my luggages to pick up a new room key TWICE.
Poor service attitude from the reception lady with a long blonde hair and big round eyes, naming ”Cindy”.
The room is modern and spacious but the door lock can't function properly still. Plus, there're only TWO complimentary bottles of water per stay (no matter how long your stay is), so it's quite inconvenient that you need to buy the water in the lobby at a higher price or anywhere before you return to the hotel.
The location of the hotel is good, there're bus, metro, fast food restaurants, Starbucks nearby with a very nice city landscape.
There was no buffet. They left a breakfast basket in the room with breads, waffles, jelly, butter, spreads and tea bags.
Reception opens at 10 in the morning. So, it’s difficult to plan early trips in the city if you need anything from the reception. You can store luggage till 6PM. So, you have to plan accordingly (store the luggage at 10 and collect before 6) if you have flight at late night.
So, don’t expect breakfast buffet and consider the reception time. Other than that the studio was nice with functioning ac and others.
Service was impeccable. Every staff member was so polite and eager to serve. I arrived late to the city and wouldn’t be able to check in till after 8:15pm and with a simple WhatsApp the receptionist waited till I arrived.
The room is spacious. The shower has good pressure and hot water was quick.
Towels and bed linen were clean.
I learned on my second day that I could get a coffee/espresso for free from reception and did it every day thereafter.
They were able to provide recommendations on food and travel and both restaurant recommendations were to die for. You must try Frici Papa in the next street from the hotel.
Transport is also very convenient. It’s located close to tram and bus stops not so much metro but then again the metro is a 5-7 min walk away. Tram ahd bus are 2 mins away. If you get the travel pass you can just ride the tram to the metro.
So close to terror museum and Andrassy Ave.
Definitely stay here if you are like me and it’s your first trip to Budapest and you want a comfortable quiet relaxing room to rest in at the end of the day.
Perfect choice
Where to start, the room was extremely spacious with cooking facilities, great shower and a comfy bed and pillows. Ideal for a 4 night stay. There was also free washing and drying facilities on the mezzanine floor.
The breakfast was good with a varied selection of breads, juices and salad, meats and cheeses. There were also protein juices and Bucks Fizz should you so choose.
The staff were also very helpful and friendly.
The location was ideal for getting around town too although there were not any decent restaurants in the vicinity that we found. We ate in the city center most days.
All in all a great stay and a place I would recommend.
We booked this on on Trip.com and the site stressed the importance of calling the hotel to confirm you were checking in. This is nonsense as we were told this was absolutely no necessary by hotel staff when I called.

Amazing
GGuest UserVery friendly and helpful staff. They offered us a complimentary upgrade. Great facilities at the hotel, including billiard and gym room for free. The room was spacious, the bathroom was gigantic. The toiletries they offered are from penhaligons. The breakfast was fantastic with a great variety of choices. A very exceptional experience. Will definitely come back.
GGuest UserWhen I arrived at the hotel before 7 o'clock, I was nervous because the entrance door was closed, but when I looked around the intercom, there was a call code on it, so I just had to press it. I went inside just as the other guests were coming out. All the staff were kind and greeted me with a smile, making me feel at ease. A bottle of wine was included in the room and it was delicious!

Great
MM47685****Carlton Hotel is truly excellent. Its location is superb, being very close to Buda Castle, just a 5-minute walk away, and only 200 meters from the western end of the Széchenyi Chain Bridge. While not a large hotel, it is exceptionally clean, and the service is outstanding.
Despite arriving early in the morning, well before the standard 3 PM check-in time, the reception staff were incredibly accommodating and allowed me to check in at 11 AM. The room was modern and impeccably clean.
Upon check-out, Ms. Reka not only gifted me with honey but also kindly arranged a taxi for me.
Carlton Hotel truly stands out as one of the best hotels here. I will definitely be returning on my next visit.
GGuest UserThe apartment is very spacious and clean, with sofa and balcony. The kitchen is well equipped with microwave and utensils, the only downside is there is no oven, but otherwise everything else was fine. Location is alright, a short tram or underground ride to most attractions or city centre. There are restaurants and supermarket nearby.
There is no reception at the property and requires checking in with hotel in advance. Access to property is through downloading an app, which is slightly inconvenient but alright for us.
GGuest UserAn airport hotel with good service, free shuttle to the airport and a good breakfast included.
Bed is comfortable, and the water in the shower has good pressure.
The only minus is that this hotel does not provide bottled water and one is forced either to drink tap water or to buy expensive water at the bar.

--Nancy-Overall, our stay at the Mercure Budapest Castle Hill Hotel was okay as there were some areas that could be improved. The hotel front area had a warm and inviting ambience, which was nice.
Upon arrival, we requested a top-floor room, but the staff recommended keeping our current room as it offered a better view. We appreciated their insight and decided to stay where we were. The hotel’s location was decent—about a 20–30 minute walk to the city area, making it manageable.
The bedroom itself was spacious and comfortable, providing plenty of room to relax. However, the bathroom and toilet were quite small, which made them feel a bit cramped. Additionally, while the room was clean, the bathroom was less so. We noticed hair left behind, and there was little to no body wash gel provided. The towels were dirty upon arrival, requiring us to request new ones on the first day.
One frustrating experience was with the housekeeping staff. On our second morning, we wanted to sleep in, but were interrupted twice—once at 10 AM and again at 11 AM—by a cleaner knocking to check when we would be leaving. When I confirmed that the checkout time was indeed 12 noon, I didn’t understand why they felt the need to rush us out. It felt unnecessary and a bit intrusive.
Despite these issues, our stay was generally fine. If the hotel could improve housekeeping efficiency, ensure cleaner bathrooms and amenities, and provide a bit more space in the bathroom area, it would be an even better experience.
MMing886The hotel is in a great location, with easy access, and is a five-minute walk from the airport bus station. The room is simple and elegant, and it is very convenient to go anywhere. I will choose to stay here again next time.
