Very close to the airport, so getting a taxi was super convenient. The hotel staff were really warm and attentive, with someone on duty 24/7. The room was clean and comfortable, the heating worked great, and the bathroom was bright and spacious. The bedding was soft and comfy too. Breakfast was decent enough; can't be too picky when you're traveling for work.
Lovely place. Highly recommend! If you’re looking for a proper warm place to stay in budapest, this is definitely your best choice!
The room, lobby and kitchen are super clean and tidy. The hotel staffs are welcoming.
The location is perfect, where you can find a supermarket within 2 min walk and the tram station within 5 min walk!
Also the breakfast are delicious and well-priced! What a great deal!
This hotel is right in the city center, just a 5-minute walk from New York Cafe. It's incredibly convenient for getting around, with easy access to both the subway and buses. Overall, it offers fantastic value for money. The room was clean, tidy, and had high ceilings, which made it feel spacious and not at all cramped. The only minor downside was the pillows, which weren't very comfortable.
The hotel boasts an excellent location right by the Danube River in Buda. It's very close to major attractions like Fisherman's Bastion and Buda Castle, all within a 10-15 minute walk. In the evenings, strolling along the Danube is a must, as the scenery on both banks is absolutely beautiful. There's also a bus stop less than a 5-minute walk away, where you can buy single-use or multi-day travel passes, which is incredibly convenient for independent travelers.
The rooms, while not spacious, are clean and well-maintained. However, I wouldn't recommend booking a room with a balcony. The balconies are small, very close to neighboring ones, and lack any partitions, meaning zero privacy.
Breakfast was decent, and the Greek yogurt was particularly delicious. Plus, on the ground floor, fruit tea and hot water are available all day, which was a very convenient touch.
Super convenient just next to Madame Tussauds. I travelled in Nov so it’s also right next to the Christmas market and main shopping street. Came by train and it’s only 10 mins walk to the hotel from the nearest metro. Its also an easy walk to the castle and for a stroll next tot the river. Due to the location, everywhere s walkable and k don’t even need to use the metro for a 3 days trip. I Room is well equipped but due to that, it’s a little small but comfortable enough. Breakfast is okay with good options.
This was absolutely amazing experience. I’ve got a free room upgrade, it was incredible. The hotel room cleanliness was extraordinary, super clean and finally I had a great night sleep. The mattress is extra firm and super comfy, keep your spine nice and straight. I really enjoyed my stay here. Another great thing about the location is the location.
Booked a room with a view, and it was so worth it! First off, the location is fantastic, right next to Fisherman's Bastion. You can see both Fisherman's Bastion and the Parliament building right outside your window. The first rays of morning sun shine directly into the room, perfect for taking photos indoors or heading out downstairs to snap some pics before the crowds arrive. Breakfast was also excellent, with options like fried rice, congee, and soup, and the staff were very attentive and proactive. The only thing to note is that you'll need to take a taxi to get there, as it's built on a hill, just like Fisherman's Bastion.
Good value for money and the breakfast was good.
Staff were very helpful to our request to change the room due to the initial room had some odour emanating from the bathroom
The hostel has curtains for privacy, the bed is a good size with a convenient shelf next to it, and there's a locker available. I really appreciate that the bathroom isn't in the room. This is definitely one of the top hostels I've stayed at in Europe, and it's not expensive either. The location is excellent; it's about a ten-minute walk from the 100E airport express bus stop, and you can easily walk to the boat pier and the free market from here.
This hotel is great if you're just passing through, as it's conveniently located near Keleti train station. However, it's a bit far from the city center. Luckily, Budapest has excellent public transport. We bought a 24-hour pass, so it only took about 20 minutes to get downtown.
The room itself was pretty standard and very clean. But I have to mention the noise issue. I specifically chose a room with no view, not facing the busy main street. Yet, the inner courtyard was still noisy, and I particularly disliked the humming sound of machinery. Honestly, car noise would have been preferable. So, if you're sensitive to noise, I highly recommend checking it out beforehand.
The front desk strongly recommended adding breakfast, and at 17 euros per person, it wasn't overpriced. It saved us the hassle of finding a restaurant early in the morning, and the variety was excellent. I definitely recommend trying it!

GGuest UserThe hotel is brand new with excellent facilities; it was definitely the most comfortable two nights we had during our entire trip to Europe. The location is perfect, right across from the opera house, and there's an M1 metro station right outside, making it super easy to connect to all kinds of public transportation. The reception staff were very friendly; we had a nice long chat during check-in. All in all, highly recommended.
Yying NewtonI stayed at Marco Polo Hostel for one week after reading many positive reviews. Here’s my honest take:
📍 Location (10/10):
The location is perfect—right in the city center. It’s just a 5–8 minute walk from both Metro 2 (where the hostel is) and Metro 3 / Deak Ferenc Ter (for the 100E airport bus). Couldn’t ask for better.
👋 First Impression & Check-in:
I arrived early at 9 AM on Christmas Day (Dec 25), well before the 2 PM check-in. A friendly staff member (chubby, helpful) allowed me to leave my luggage in the storage room—a very kind gesture that started my stay on a positive note. When I returned to check in, there was a small confusion about my booking (I accidentally booked for 2 people in a 12-bed dorm instead of 1), but the staff handled it calmly and professionally. They also helped sort out a postal code issue for my Hong Kong details—thank you!
🛏 Room & Sleep:
I was assigned beds 3 & 4 in a 2nd-floor dorm. The bunk beds are subdivided, offering decent privacy. Noise was minimal—maybe 10–15 minutes of understandable movement here and there, but nothing disruptive. Most guests were European ( students, southeast Asians and Europeans) staying short-term. Male and female dorms are separate.
🚿 Bathrooms & Facilities:
All showers worked perfectly—good hot/cold water. Remember to bring your own towel and toiletries. As a backpacker, I was prepared, but it’s worth noting.
🍞 Breakfast:
Available for 3200 HUF. Simple but satisfying—fresh, hand-made bread was delicious. I’ve never eaten so much bread in my life, and I mean that in a good way!
💧 Water & Extras:
Bottled water is available for 500 HUF. The friendly slim staff even gave me a discount when I bought five bottles. Tap water in Hungary is drinkable, so you can refill if you prefer. I also appreciated the staff’s fluency in English—communication was never an issue.
🔑 Small Issues Handled Well:
Once I locked myself out of my room, and they promptly lent me a spare key. My key card occasionally failed, but they fixed it in under a minute. The team is flexible and quick to help.
❤ Nice Touch:
During check-in, the staff introduced a charity donation for kids in Hungary. I donated for the first time here—felt good to contribute.
📌 Final Tips:
Read the house rules posted near the counter. Bring your own toiletries and towel. The hostel is well-run, clean, and staffed by helpful, English-speaking professionals.
✅ Overall:
Great value for money, excellent location, and genuinely helpful staff. I’d happily stay again and recommend it to fellow travelers. I will definitely come back here for my solo travel!
EEmilylovesfoodEverything about the hotel was quite reasonable. Although the breakfast selection wasn't extensive, the ingredients were good quality and it tasted nice.
However, the service could be improved. We arrived around 7 AM to check-in and drop off our luggage. When we returned to the hotel at 2 PM, the front desk told us we'd have to wait until 3 PM. So, I told them we'd be sitting on the sofa nearby and to let us know when our room was ready. Between 2:30 PM and 3 PM, they continued to check in other guests. After 3 PM, since no one had informed me, I assumed the room wasn't ready. It wasn't until around 3:20 PM, when I went to the front desk to ask, that I discovered the room had been ready for a while, but they simply hadn't told me. The waiting area sofa was less than two meters directly in front of the front desk, and they had been aware of our presence the entire time but never notified us.
GGuest UserWhen I arrived at the hotel before 7 o'clock, I was nervous because the entrance door was closed, but when I looked around the intercom, there was a call code on it, so I just had to press it. I went inside just as the other guests were coming out. All the staff were kind and greeted me with a smile, making me feel at ease. A bottle of wine was included in the room and it was delicious!

TTlwy2727I stayed in an 8-bed mixed dorm. Overall everything was good, but it could be a bit noisy at times. People were frequently coming in and out, and when they were packing or taking their belongings it could get quite loud. Some guests also spoke quite loudly, which sometimes disturbed those who were resting. However, I understand that this is quite normal when sharing a mixed dorm with several people.
The hostel itself is easy to find, and the staff were very polite and friendly. The only downside was that the bathroom was a little dirty.

AAnnKooGood location for connection to airport or train station Keleti. The central market and the Liberty bridge is only 3 minutes walk away. Very convenient to explore Budapest with the tranport pass. Lots of eateries nearby.
Room is very clean and tidy and the staffs are all polite ànd easily approachable. We really enjoyed our 3 nights stay with the delicious breakfast.

ZZhouchunxueThe facilities are complete, hygiene is good, the environment is beautiful, and the service is thoughtful. The surrounding amenities are convenient, and you can walk to the food street. Transportation is also convenient. I will book again next time.
GGuest UserHotel Review: A Cozy Stay in Budapest
I recently had the opportunity to stay at a hotel in Budapest, and my experience was quite pleasant.
Overall Ambiance:
This hotel offers a more home-like environment rather than the traditional professional hotel experience. The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting, which made it easy to unwind during my stay.
Location:
While the hotel may appear to be slightly distant from the city center, I found that accessing the main attractions was not an issue. With a variety of convenient transportation options, including trams and the metro, reaching the heart of Budapest was straightforward and manageable. It’s an ideal location for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city while still being easily connected.
Service:
The receptionist staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating. I appreciated their attentiveness; they would knock multiple times before entering the room, ensuring guest comfort and privacy. Additionally, the option to store my luggage at the hotel after check-out was a significant advantage, allowing me to explore the city without the burden of my bags.
Room Comfort and Amenities:
My room was spacious and equipped with all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. The bed was decent, providing a good night’s sleep. Despite my short one-night stay, I found the accommodations to be more than satisfactory.
Dining:
The breakfast section offered a variety of options, making it a pleasant way to start the day. I found the selection to be adequate and enjoyable, contributing to a positive overall experience.
Conclusion:
In summary, if you’re seeking a quiet retreat away from the city’s hectic pace, this hotel in Budapest is a commendable choice. With its cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, and accessible location, it provides a comfortable base for both short and extended stays. My experience was quite satisfactory, and I would recommend it to others looking for a relaxed stay in Budapest.
