Environment: The hotel offers a stunning natural setting, with scenic views of terraced rice fields and Mount Yufu. The peaceful ambiance, complemented by features like veranda wind chimes, provides a serene retreat away from urban hustle.

One of the worst experiences I've ever had. The onsen hotel itself was outstanding, from service to hardware and food. However, the guest list made it a nightmare, and the hotel staff, surprisingly, did so little to prevent this. We had to dine at the restaurant in the main building because this onsen hotel does not offer in-room dining. The dining experience was a mess; there were guests viewing on their phones with the volume turned up to the max, and children shouting and yelling where their parents did not intervene. The restaurant toilet was extremely dirty; most likely, the guests did not care for the toilet, and the staff did not clean it in a timely manner. We complained multiple times, but nothing changed, except that the toilet was cleaned instantly. When it came to breakfast, we were allocated to a great corner with an amazing view of the rice fields, but there was a guest wearing a facial mask heading towards the restaurant, which was another joke of the day. We were also particularly uncomfortable in such a prestigious onsen hotel because guests were hanging clothes and underwear on their balconies. Given the cost of this onsen hotel as a weekend vacation, this is ridiculous. Definitely not advised, and I will not stay here again, nor with the Hoshinoya Hotel Group.
