Xianting Xujing B&B (Yongzhou Lingling Ancient City Branch)

This inn is a converted building in a newly built villa complex near the ancient city, relatively far from Liuzi Alley. Objectively speaking, the cleanliness of the B&B is quite good, and the owners appear to be very dedicated to running the place. However, perhaps this overdoing of their efforts has led to guests feeling uncomfortable. An unpleasant experience arose within the first hour of check-in. The owner repeatedly reminded guests not to touch their original room's belongings if they were to move, and the landlady repeatedly reminded them to take off their shoes. The entire hotel is littered with prohibitive signs, such as "Do not wear shoes on the wooden stairs" and "Do not smoke anywhere" (the owner himself smoked at the front desk in front of a group of female guests). The hotel information provided is also filled with defensive warnings, suggesting the owners are particularly wary of potential vandalism. The owners seem to fail to understand that guests have the right to use their property in a manner consistent with proper hygiene practices, and that any additional terms and conditions should be clearly stated before booking. In my several months living in Japan, I've never seen a Japanese hotel so brazen as to demand that guests remove their shoes outdoors under the eaves. Our four families were the only ones staying at the inn, but we had to tell our children not to run around, not to talk loudly, and not to play in the yard, but to stay indoors to avoid any further unpleasantness. My friend described the entire stay as "constrained"! We booked four rooms, and knowing that business is challenging, I won't comment negatively on the other bookings.

民宿不錯，訂的親子房，房頂做了星空頂，孩子們很喜歡。
