Hotel Laico Hammamet

I like everything in this hotel cleanliness , two Swimming pool , Food and the staff they do good service

It was a wonderful and beautiful days. The staff were friendly and wonderful. The reception was also wonderful. The food was good. The hotel rooms were clean. I got to know some friends from Ukraine. Her name is Olga. I liked her very much. Unfortunately, I lost contact with her. I send my greetings to the employee Hannibal and all the staff at the Laico Hotel. I will return this summer because I liked it very much.

Where do I start......... This is not a 5 star hotel. That is just a ruse to charge you more for tourist tax. At best this as a 1 star hotel and in the UK this would have been shut down a long time ago. Lets be honest were realists and we've read the reviews so we were eyes wide open in that we knew it wasnt a 5 star. As we turned up we thought this looks quite impressive. This changed in a heartbeat. We arrived late morning so didnt expect our room to be ready and it wasnt, so no problem. However we were checked in and given our wrist bands and told to have a drink/lunch and come back at 2. No sooner had we got our drink, than we were summonsed by the reception staff as our room was ready. This bit has relevance later, but all good so far? So we had our bags taken up, and checked into our room. Wow.........but not in a good way. The fridge was filthy inside and out, there was some red sticky substance all up the outside of the wooden part covering the fridges. The chairs were heavily stained with make up and who knows what else. The curtains had extensive stains and the bathroom was unclean with rust and mould. The furniture was old and extremely dated. The a/c outlet was filthy outside. Pictures below. The room smelt of food as it did all week and it seems there is a direct link with the a/c and the kitchen outlet. It made our eyes sting. We went down and complained. The relevance to above, as we complained the female manager an extremely rude individual (more on her later) said we pressured them into giving the room like that. She will return later. Again wow...we were summonsed by them. So the other guy at recepetion Yosri I think his name was, had to be the peacemaker, and asked us to go have lunch and come back so he could change us. Before I go any further Yosri is the only member of reception staff worthy of the job and is wasted at this hotel. We went back and he asked us to check the room first and if we werent happy he would change us. The change were ok, the curtains and fridge had been changed, the sticky stain had gone although had left discolouring so I wonder how long it had been there. The toilet however despite having assurances still had urine stains around the seat. We decided we werent going to get any better elsewhere so I cleaned the toilet myself but I did make this clear to the staff. There isnt anything that could be done to the bathroom apart from ripping it out and replacing it. There was rarely enough hot water for a shower, and as above the room constantly stank of food, so much so we've had to wash even the unworn clothes as the smell has stuck. Lets discuss the food next.....repetitive, bland, raw, cold, repetitive, bland, raw, cold. Liver featured heavily, as did fish. Beef too, well little beef loads of fat and gristle. If we had liver for dinner there would absolutly be a liver stew the next day, you get the picture. The chicken was invariably raw and pink. I flagged this to the restaraunt manager and he
