Super Hotel Kumamoto Yamaga ★★★
"There are many good restaurants nearby and it's quiet, so it's a good place to rest. Parking is also free."
Kafutei ★★★
"It is a beautiful ryokan nestled in the mountains. The food is delicious."
Yamaga Onsen Fuji Hotel ★★★
"This is an old hot spring hotel. The breakfast is very traditional. It is not suitable for family travel and the transportation is not convenient."
Yamaga Onsen Seiryuso ★★★
"I went to Yamaga for the first time in several years. First of all, the exterior of the building is quite old. But once inside, it wasn't so noticeable. When I checked in, there was a welcome drink, and I was served sparkling wine! After that, I was shown to my room, which was quite spacious. I had some time, so I went for a walk outside, and when I came back, I was surprised that the staff remembered my name. I think that's amazing, especially since they are elderly! After that, I went to the hot springs. The hot springs are a little on the warm side, so you can relax and enjoy them. Yamaga's hot springs are characterized by their thick, viscous water. Dinner was also plentiful in both variety and quantity, and I was quite full! I was also lucky this time because it included matsutake mushroom soup in an earthenware pot! During dinner, the proprietress came to greet us and chatted with us about various things. As expected, having an enjoyable meal makes the experience more satisfying! Also, the staff at this inn were very friendly, and I would like to stay here again."
HOTEL R9 The Yard Yamaga ★★★
"It was very beautiful and the water pressure of the shower was strong. In an ordinary business hotel, I had to wait for the elevator to come in the morning, but it was very easy for people who used it at work to go to the car immediately after leaving. I could get frozen foods and thank you for the service."
Chozantei ★★★
"We stayed at the newly built Annex Premier in March. The rooms and indoor baths were spacious, so it was a luxury to spend time there for two. The alcohol and soft drinks in the fridge were provided free of charge, so we could refresh ourselves with a beer on the terrace after the bath. The breakfast was excellent, but the dinner was Showa-era wedding food and the taste was not so good. Other than that, we were satisfied. From welcoming us upon arrival to seeing us off upon departure, it seems that the staff are well trained in customer service. We also used the observation lounge before and after dinner, so I will post some photos. The night view was impressive."
kinasse ★★
Ichiboku Issou ★★★
Yutorelo Yamaga ★★★★
"The welcome area had rice dumplings and marshmallows to roast, and the drinks were all-you-can-drink, so the service was excellent. There was also a table tennis area, which was fun. The room was larger than I expected, so I was able to relax in the room. The plan included dinner and breakfast. I was traveling with a child under one year old, and they had already prepared a baby chair with a seat and belt in the dining room, which was very kind. I would definitely use this hotel again."

Sumi - Yamaga Onsen
"The shower in the bathroom didn't work. The fish bones for dinner and the pickles for breakfast were very delicious."
Hirayama Onsen Ryokan Kadoya
"As other reviews mentioned, the facilities and rooms are very old, and the futons were so thin they were like rice crackers, which made me laugh. The food was completely ordinary. I think the price is a little high. However, the hot spring water was wonderfully smooth and very nice. There was also a mini open-air bath. I bathed three times, and all three times I had it all to myself, which was fantastic! It costs 400 yen for a day trip to the baths. It might be worth just to use the baths without staying overnight. It seems to be family-run, and it had a nostalgic feel to it."
Yamaga Onsen Ryokan Miki
"Don't just look at the pictures, you will definitely be fooled. The location is not good on a narrow road. The parking lot is on the other side of the road at the entrance of the narrow road, which is very inconvenient. The 4-person Japanese-style room was very crowded, and only one electric unit was used for the TV and refrigerator. The worst thing is that the bathroom in the room is very narrow and there is not enough space to put clothes. Unfortunately, the price should be the cheapest among hot spring hotels in Sanlu City, but it is definitely not value for money."
