Hampton Inn & Suites Xenia Dayton

We like Hampton Inns because the ones we've stayed at have all been consistently good quality and decent value. The Xenia location is no exception. COmfortable rooms, easy access, free parking, generous and tasty breakfast options starting early so we can hit the road ASAP.

The service at this hotel is not up to Hampton standards. I agree with other reviews that mentioned issues with hotel management and lack of staffing. The check-in process was slow. The room did not have enough towels & wash cloths. The breakfast options were limited and often ran out and were not refilled (both days of a 2 day stay). The swimming pool was closed without notice because the heater stopped working. I was told the water temp was 78 degrees which is pretty standard but access was denied. The cleaning staff were friendly along with other staff, but the hotel is going downhill because it is not managed properly. The manager was not present. When the staff called the manager, he refused to take my call and pawned off responsibility on an inexperienced staff member. Towels and breakfast and an occasional swim are the basic services of a hotel for which this manager refused to discuss with a repeat customer. From what I could tell as he spoke with the desk staff member, he showed no concern or intention to know the issues whatsoever, and no urgency for solutions or resolution. The front desk worker assured the manager would call me when he returned to the hotel but I never received a call.

The beds were ok as far as comfort. But the height for the accomadation I needed was good, notbtoo high fir what I needed. The breakfast was nice to have as an option, the only thing I would recommend is having the coffee/tea available in the dining area. It is offered, just not where breakfast is served.
