Woodstock Inn & Resort

This trip to the Woodstock Inn was a bucket list trip. So far the stay has been pretty disappointing. Had issues with the spa and making dinner reservations. Voiced my issues to the manager on duty and was told I’d get a call that afternoon. Never did, stopped by the front desk again and was told that my concerns were passed on to someone else. This is a highly rated hotel and so far our stay has not gone well. Will never come back at this time.

A URINE SOILED MATTRESS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE This review comes with very mixed feelings. The property is lovely, location fantastic, meals and amenities great! Ultimately I am so very appalled with the housekeeping and management. Upon arriving to our room everything looked fine. My mom senior mom and I sharing a two bed room. The room must have been above the kitchen because it smelled from the cooking exhaust, but that was manageable. My breaking point was when I crawled in to my bed it smelled a little funky but given the quality establishment I thought maybe it was just me. I lied on my side facing out to fall asleep. However the moment I rolled to the middle of the bed all I could smell was the URINE. It was 1:30 in the morning, I was tired and it was too much effort to address it, at that moment. My mom kindly allowed me to sleep on the unused half of her bed. Upon waking, I brought it to the attention to the tour company we were traveling with. They insisted on handling it. Woodstock Inn “gave” us another room….seriously….Well, YES, at the very LEAST! I guess it was supposed to be an upgraded room, although it didn’t seem much more special. This is the clincher…. Then we learned we received an additional $100 refund. That was an insult, to us as “guests”. A completely unhygienic, urine soiled, unacceptable bed was made up by house keeping and passed off as the quality resort they claim to be. In my opinion, a MINIMUM of an entire nights stay should have been refunded and probably the second night comped. I have since sent two emails expressing my disappointment, with no response. I still am shocked at the lack of quality in what is supposed to be a high-end resort.

First of all Woodstock is a swish town with shops and eateries of a standard that you would expect with the clientele that visits. The benchmark place to stay is the Woodstock Inn. It has pedigree and is classy. The facilities are excellent - a sports club, golf course, bicycles for trail riding are all available, some with payment others not. The food is good without being outstanding. The staff were faultlessly helpful. I wish I had stayed longer - there is plenty to do for a 4-5 day stay.

Very comfortable, beautiful location, excellent service and facilities. We had a last minute booking here, so hadn't done a huge amount of research. It is a very good hotel with a long history, and comfortably appointed rooms- beds, pillows and fittings are all very comfortable. Facilities at the hotel are excellent- it has a well appointed and large sports centre at around a 10 minute drive away, golf course slightly nearer. On site is a spa and outdoor pool, and an activity centre with bikes to use. There are lovely gardens and a veranda to sit on, and a good restaurant. For teens and children , there is a large and well appointed games room with table football, table hockey, shuffleboard etc. Lots of children around the hotel seem very at home and well catered for. The staff at the front desk and helpful concierge ( Chad!) were brilliant. Woodstock is a truly beautiful place, a well kept town with a super Main Street with a variety of lovely shops. I would happily return!

Woodstock Inn is the best resort we've ever visited. Anything you would need was anticipated. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The rooms are beautifully furnished, and all of the amenities are thoughtfully explained. For our 40th anniversary, we wanted to visit a new area and play golf. The resort's setting in the town added to its charm, we enjoyed a stroll to Woodstock Scoopes for a Maple Creemee. The golf course staff was friendly and very informative, the course was in great shape, despite the heat, it was an enjoyable round. The breakfast buffet was varied, and also varied by day. The meals in the Red Rooster and Richardsons Tavern were terrific. We also enjoyed the cookie break at 4PM. The number and variety of sitting areas in the hotel is impressive. We also had a maintenance issue due to the weather overtaxing the air conditioning, but the person they sent was professional and fixed the problem in no time, and left the room in better shape. In short, there is not one thing, outside of the weather which they couldn't control, to mar our perfect 40th anniversary trip. We hope to return!

We visited for our anniversary and were not disappointed! We stayed in the wing off of the gift shop and our room was ideal! Quiet and handy to everything. The staff and accommodations were everything you could hope for. When we arrived at our room there was a lovely note and gift waiting for us. We look forward to returning! Perhaps a new anniversary tradition.
