Moorea Sunset Beach

Moorea Sunset Beach was OK but not as good as some of the other places we stayed in French Polynesia but definitely functional. We had a bunglow which had a kitchen, small living room, bedroom (with AC) and bathroom. The deck was nice, but no view, just some lawn and vegetation before the parking lot. It did have a washer and dryer, which we used and was great although the dryer took a long time to dry anything. The beach (Tipaniers) was a 5 minute walk and was nice - probably one of the nicer beaches on the island. You could rent kayaks or a small boat from the hotel next door. Our favourite part, however, was the chickens. Yes, the roosters are noisy but the chickens are friendly and are obviously used to guests, as I had to shoo them out of our kitchen where they were looking for scraps. You need to be careful with lights at night as the mosquitos and mayflies will swarm. There is a very good small grocery store about a 10 minute walk from the resort but check the time as they can close early.

We booked a Beach Bungalow. Check in was easy and the reception was friendly. The bungalow exceeded my expectations. It was spacious and very clean. The view was better than expected. It has a lovely deck where you can enjoy your morning coffee. The bathroom was great and lovely toiletries were provided. The kitchen had everything we needed - even a coffee machine. We did not cook since we ate out every night but the kitchen seems to have everything you might need. The bed was very comfortable and I liked the cupboards. I did not have much time to snorkel since we had excursions booked each day but what I saw surprised me and next time I will plan to have more time to explore. We enjoyed sunsets on the pier and the lovely beach. I will stay here again if I have the opportunity.

Myself and my family are at the end of our 3 night stay in the family cabin at Moorea Sunset Beach. The cabin is very well appointed. However, it has been misrepresented in the images shown on the website which fail to show how the patio of the cabin directly overlooks a car park. The patio has the only dining table for the cabin, providing guests with a view of the car park while they eat / sit on the patio. In addition, we have an energetic 2 year old in our party and it is not safe to have a car park in such close proximity. Suffice to say had I been fully informed regarding the actual surrounds and location of the cabin I would not have booked it. It is so unfortunate that this information is not provided prior to booking and guests are set up to be disappointed on arrival. With the above in mind we anticipated a review of the cost of the cabin stay and a reduction provided that considers the disruption this caused and our inability to use the patio dining area.

we liked the access to the beach, the local store one block from us, the fresh baked goods, the local restaurants near by, did miss a outdoor grill to cook some fresh fish and meats for dinner,

We were only here for a few days but we loved it, and packed a lot in, especially spending time at the beautiful private beach and in the ridiculously gorgeous crystal blue sea just minutes from our bungalow. Staff helpful, pretty quiet apart from wild roosters (ear plugs help), accommodation clean, comfortable, great outddor area, and well equipped with all you need, and if you don't bring Nespresso pods (OG) or washing powder, they've got it at reception. Shop is about 15 minutes away, but worth it for the fresh croissants in the morning (closes in arvo, so check hours). Opp direction is restaurants and ATM - about 20 mins. Tipaniers bar and cafe on beach is lovely location, dinner is at the restaurant on road (a bit ho-hum!) - but for wonderful food, service and location, highly recommend Holy Steak up the hill (they do pick up and drop offs too). Also a highlight, hiring a wee boat to go see the rays - Stefan the boat guy is awesome, and really helpful if you're not a confident boatie! And, don't miss out on Cocobeach restaurant - it's heaven. The boat picks you up from sunset beach if requested, but you need to book. Enjoy!
