Sunscape Curacao Resort Spa & Casino

loved the beach, the Pools, the bars, the resort in general, the outdoor areas were clean and well looked after and the staff was great. As for the room it was clean which made my wife happy, but very noisy A/C units barely able to keep up with the heat TV that does work, front door difficult to close. Annoying problems that be easily corrected. You can see it's an older resort that needs some loving. The Staff was better than expected, they were great. I think management needs to ensure these basic items are fully functional /repaired to the same degree that their staff delivers the great service to their guests. Watchout for the Unlimited Vacation Club upsell, hard to see how that's going to work if you can't bring the rooms into the 21 century level.

The customers service was excellent. The night entertainment was fabulous. Complaints: When we arrived, they checked us in to a room of lesser quality than the room for which we paid. We spent one night in that room before they upgraded us. I felt it was a “bait and switch” situation. The rooms look nothing like they appear in the website photos. The resort is out dated and it had too many water bugs. In addition, we paid for the club package which included top shelf alcohol, but they kept running out of tequila (the only alcohol I drink). The food was horrible. Some food was too salty and other dishes had no flavor. We spent more money eating at the Sea Side restaurant next door. The food there was delicious. I would not recommend The Sunscape Resort and Spa. This is the first review I have ever written. I hope it helps you save money and time.

Arrived 6:30 pm on Nov 11, 2025. Paid extra for Sun Club room. Checked in with Sunscape Sun Club rep and given a 1st floor oceanview room in the sunclub complex. While walking to our room we were chased after and told sorry can't have that room. Dragged our luggage back while they try to figure out where to put us. We ended up in a downgraded room in an old apartment style room overlooking parking lot. We had a long flight so tired and hungry. Only option was an outdoor barbq. Could not see any food choices as it was very dark. I do not eat meat other than fish. Mahi Mahi was no longer available. I had some cooked carrots and cauliflower and went to bed. Woke up with sore back. Horrible mattress. We hope to get another room that we paid for. Very upset.

We stayed in building 7 oceanfront jr. Honeymoon sunclub suite king bed. View was amazing, room was clean and beds comfortable. Our housekeeper was amazing. The air condition could not keep up and did not cool the room sufficiently, we were uncomfortable from the heat most of out stay. The drains were slow and we had sewage smell in our room . This hotel is old and dated showing signs of wear and tear everywhere. Toilet seats in public washrooms all chipped and dirty tiles etc. Food at buffet was basic with not much selection although tasty. Oceanic restaurant was good but menu items, like french fries, nachos,bacon hashbrowns were not available most days. Employees very kind, and exceptional service from Nathalie there. Italian restaurant DaMario was amazing. Entertainment was nice. Beach is the highlight with amazing snorkeling and swimming, hard to get shaded areas as people were putting towels down early. Location to town and mambo beach very convenient.

This hotel is 2* and not 4* as advertised. Unfortunately we did not take heed of the negative reviews as everyone has different expectations. PLEASE AVOID booking. This is not an international hotel and should not be listed in TUI UK. The majority of guests are Hispanic/Latino therefore entertainment and food menus are set to accommodate. The same problems appear to have been happening for many months, always with a response from the management team that they take feedback seriously…THEY DON’T. As stated in previous posts there is a total lack of interest from the majority of staff working at the resort. Breakfast is chaotic - tables not cleared, cleaned or reset. Shortage of cutlery so plastic forks are given? Lunch - same issues and same Luke warm menu. A few times we visited the beach restaurant that offers a different menu. On each occasion they didn’t have most of the menu available. Dinner - repeat of the above. BARS - not enough staff. During the evening there is only one barman. Queues up to 15 people deep at times while he plods around chatting to other staff who are collecting drinks for the restaurants. Most evenings there was a lack of hard plastic glasses so all drinks are served in crushable plastic or paper cups, certainly not what you expect from a 4* hotel. All other Caribbean hotels we have stayed there has always been drink waiter service to tables, not here. I can honestly say this has been the worst hotel we have ever stayed at. Thankfully the weather was the only positive to our holiday.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An Amazing Stay at Sunscape Resort, Curaçao (8/29–9/3) We had such an incredible time at Sunscape Resort in Curaçao! Before booking, we read a lot of mixed reviews and decided to take a chance—and we are SO glad we did. We upgraded to the Sunscape Club, and it was worth every penny. The private breakfast spot became our favorite place to start each day, and everything we had was delicious. Pro tip: ask Kenny, the chef, for his signature drink—it’s fantastic! The club also gave us access to premium liquor at one of the bars, which was a nice touch. Food & Drinks: Every meal we had was amazing, and the drinks were even better. The staff across the resort were warm, friendly, and went above and beyond to make our stay special. Excursions & Adventures: We booked a catamaran excursion that took us snorkeling at two breathtaking locations—it was both fun and relaxing. Off the resort, we explored downtown Curaçao. We took a local bus/van in, felt completely safe, and even enjoyed the 50-minute walk back while admiring the colorful houses. Renting a car with Eurocar was also a great experience. We visited the Curaçao Distillery, hiked Mt. Christoff to the island’s highest point, and stopped to snorkel with turtles on the way back—an absolute must-do! ⚡ Tips for Travelers: Some rooms have U.S. outlets, others European, so bring a converter just in case (buying one on Amazon ahead of time saved us). Try everything at the resort, but also make sure to explore the island—it’s a beautiful balance. Learn a little Papiamento—it makes the experience even more fun! Go in with realistic expectations. This is not a 5-star ultra-luxury resort. It’s a more affordable all-inclusive, but if you treat the staff with kindness, they’ll treat you like family. Overall, Sunscape Curaçao exceeded our expectations. We ate well, drank well, relaxed, and adventured all in one trip. If you’re on the fence, take the chance—you won’t regret it!
