The approach to the hotel is lovely. That’s about it. Tavern was brightly lit not at all like a tavern. Food took over an hour for dinner. No breakfast menu just a very expensive buffet. Provision store had nothing but candy and pastry. Not a healthy option in sight. Fortunately there is a lovely breakfast place down the road. Golf course was in terrible shape and it’s only 9 holes. At the pool the only good option was pizza. Spa charges $40 more for massages on the weekend. For the price, just not worth it. Just too much overcharging for mediocre service and amenities.

Stayed here the third weekend in January. The hotel was beautiful, the employees were super nice and our room was very comfortable. We like to snowshoe and there were lots of trails all around the hotel to explore. We also visited the farm in the back of the hotel to see the alpacas. The bar area and bartenders were great, The food service however was terrible! The restaurant called itself a tavern but the chef must think he works at a swanky restaurant. Poor menu selections and very pricey. The first time we tried to eat there, we waited10 minutes for a waiter to show up. We gave him a drink order and we never saw him again. 30 minutes later I asked the hostess about our drinks and she told me she would check on them. Another 5 minutes went by and we decided to leave. The next night we sat at the bar for dinner. We got the menus and the bartender told us they were out of three menu items. so we left again. It's worth the 11 mile drive into Littleton. There are some decent places to eat there like the Littleton Freehouse, Taste the Thai, and Schilling Brew pub for pizza. The breakfast buffet at the hotel was too expensive ($25 a person) for stuff that's been sitting over sternos and not a great selection. AND FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, OFFER FREE COFFEE IN THE MORNING. They charge you 3 dollars for a small cup of coffee. A great breakfast alternative that is literally a 5 minute drive is Grandmas Kitchen. Well worth it. Overall, we plan on returning in the summer to play golf and hike. The employees were so darn nice it made for an enjoyable stay. We're just not going to eat there.

Went to Mountain View Grand Resort and Spa for the Christmas / Chanukah holiday with my husband and had absolutely the best time there. It was so peaceful, scenic and festive. The views from all angles of the resort is breathtaking. Things we did were snowshoe-ing (not to miss!), spa-ing (make sure to book the couple's room in the tower), yoga, and Christmas brunch (so so so delicious and off the charts in terms of everything they put out and were cooking fresh!). I highly recommend coming here at the height of winter because it's just a very special place to be with all the snow. There is also a farm on-site with lamas, alpaca, goats, donkeys, chickens and more!

We just returned from a quick one night stay at Mountain View Grand. Our room was spacious and had a beautiful view of the Presidentials. We particularly were pleased that there were two comfortable chairs for reading. We had a nice swim in the lovely pool followed by.gin and tonics as we rocked on the classic front porch. The major disappointment in our experience was the breakfast buffet. The scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes and egg and bacon dish were full of red and green peppers. (We do not eat peppers of any variety) The only cold cereals were sugary children’s cereals. There appeared to be no way to order “plain” eggs so I had a muffin and a cup of coffee; my husband had a croissant and coffee. Wait staff filled our water glasses and asked if everything was good. I responded that I was disappointed that everything was full of peppers and she offered to get me a pastry - not a solution! Had the breakfast not been included in our rate (by booking directly with the hotel) we would have been quite angry. Next time, we’ll head to Grandma’s down the street where we can order from a menu!

The hotel is wildly understaffed and inexperienced. From our dinner at Harvest (seated in private room which felt promising only to be forgetten about once giving our order with two small children; 40 minute wait for drinks, which were incorrect, and food was wrong/cold when received after over an hour of waiting). To hotel room doors that don’t shut properly, pack and play not being put in the room when requested weeks in advance, short-staffed on Fourth of July weekend (so, the free morning coffee amenity not offered/shared up front; limited hours for the sundries store, also without notice…). Unfortunately, a hotel that is stock in the glory days of yore when it comes to their service and what you get for the still premium price tag.

We let the staff know we would arrive late and they were ready to meet us, by late I mean midnight. The room was spacious. The hotel has an oldie worldly feel which we enjoyed. We did not eat there so cannot comment on the food. We used the outdoor pool and I had 9 holes of golf. The course was short but fun, the greens frighteningly fast.

While the location is beautiful with breathtaking views, I rate a 3 due to the quality of the food. You would think that for such a grand place, they would make ( or buy from a bakery) fresh homemade breads. They would buy quality meat, make their own English muffins, offer wild caught vs farm raised salmon, farm fresh pasture raised chickens and eggs, etc.. My husband’s $51 steak had no flavor, my chicken dinner was dry and no flavor. I am not even sure about the rice mixture that came with it. Water is not filtered as you could taste the chlorine . The rooms are very clean and spacious as is the Inn, a bit dated in some areas, but very nice and the staff was friendly. We would go back, but just would go out to eat unless they make substantial changes. We went to breakfast at Polly’s on our second day. Wow!

Beautiful hotel with enough to do to check in for a weekend and not leave. The kids (and adults) loved the farm animals and the workers there were so informative and we loved speaking with them! The view from the front porch is spectacular and we went to see the foliage and it did not disappoint. The dinner was delicious as well. My only complaint is that there needed to be more food staff, we almost didn’t have a place to eat the first night because I didn’t realize reservations were needed and when we tried to place a room service order another night it took a very long time to get through.
