Sunday lunch with family - we were so looking forward to it as had read place had won an award for best Sunday lunch in North East . We had aperitifs upstairs before heading down to restaurant for lunch where we were shown straight to our table . Waitress gave us menus and took our drinks order . It’s was all very relaxed and friendly atmosphere. When she came to take our orders my dad asked how the lamb was served meaning pink or well done and was rather taken aback when her reply was cut which gave us all a laugh ! The food was very nice but nothing award winning . All in all a pleasant afternoon with nice Sunday Lunch but not what we were expecting

We got married in September at the gibside hotel and what a wonderful day we had. Special thanks to Joy who from the moment I contacted her answered all our questions promptly and gave fantastic advice and guidance. Initially I contacted larger venues in the vicinity but was put off by their lack of assistance and found they were not at all helpful. Johnny who works closely with joy ensured our day ran smoothly and again any questions before the day were answered by him too. Everything was perfect, food amazing and I would highly recommend this venue for weddings and any other events. Even had my hen night here, again great fun and Johnny ensured everything went well. Five stars from us, Lynne and Bryan Johnson

Room was nice and the staff were pleasant. Just the breakfast was very disappointing, undercooked, I did ask for well done eggs as well. See picture. I was given a refund

Had the absolute pleasure of enjoying the hotels bottomless brunch with my friends. Geri and the rest of the Saturday afternoon team were outstandingly attentive and incredibly generous with the drinks. I did think it was quite expensive initially but the food was gorgeous as always and we definitely got our money's worth. I would definitely book again. Thanks everyone! 😘X

We’ve called here for lunch and breakfast twice in the past week. The menu is excellent, a great mix of British classics and some great foreign twists in there to spice things up. First visit was for lunch and we ate off the two meals for under £20. Lovely meals, not fantastic quality (chicken burgers) but we enjoyed them nonetheless. Second visit was for breakfast and the food, service and quality was top notch. Mix it all in with a fabulous view, we’ll definitely be back.
