Food is good

I am not a frequent traveler. I stayed here by myself for a University of Iowa family weekend. I booked very late and didn't have many choices in the area. That being said, paying over $550 for a 2 night stay at this place seemed like highway robbery. They clearly jacked up the price to gouge the college families. This place is VERY dated. The bathroom towels were paper thin and the shower was on the low-flow side. I should have lowered my expectations. I don't think this hotel has seen renovations in 15-20 years. Disappointing.

Only kichcup was I was approved for early checkin but wasn't ready at 2PM. The hotel did put two maids on it right away and was in the room at 230 PM. Otherwise the hotel was clean and staff very friendly.

The staff is top notch and did everything they could to make our stay happen. That said, the rooms were in disrepair, unsafe, and filthy (experienced two rooms and the were both awful in their own way). The hotel needs to be shut down and renovated.

This place has a lot of good things but there were problems. The rooms were of good quality except the pet smell and the bathtub didn't drain while taking a shower. They have a good breakfast selection. The one upsetting thing is being double billed and they can't resolve it. It has been about a week. I called to resolve it. I thought it was but it wasn't. It's wasting my time to resolve and I'm unable to use my money.
