Hampton Inn & Suites New Haven - South - West Haven

We arrived quite late at night, but were warmly welcomed by the friendly front desk staff. We stayed just for one night, but we really enjoyed our stay. The area around the hotel has plenty of restaurants and markets, so even late at night, it’s easy to find what you need. However, the breakfast was quite disappointing—very limited options and not up to the standard we expected.

Booked for a stay for one evening. Heavy smell of mold upon entering room. Heavy mold accumulation visible on window pane. Building hallway had standing water from a constant drip or leak above ceiling. Side entrance had water pouring in that was being caught by a trash can. Walls were covered in mold at that entrance. One of two elevators was out of service. Pool was closed. Fitness center had missing items from theft, according to desk clerk. Manager was not on duty. Clerk instructed us to contact manager by phone. Due to excessive mold in room we were unable to stay and found a different hotel in the area. We were only offered a 20% discount through our third party contacting the hotel even though we cancelled and left within one hour of check in. We've contacted the manager and have not received any response as of four days later. See provided photos.

Stay in West Haven Instead! We were doing an east cost trip that started in boston and headed to Philly. Was looking for something in between, hotel was totally rundown. Not clean in most areas other then beds which was very important, everything in gym was not working, breakfast was subpar, also not in the area.

Got some great R&R Had a great stay and my girls really enjoyed the pool.
