The Rewind West des Moines, Tapestry Collection by Hilton

Central location to food, shopping, and freeway access, and I appreciated how consistently cold the room stayed during a hot and humid Iowa summer. I owe the biggest praise to A.J., the kind young woman at the front desk. I mistakenly booked my reservation two days earlier than my arrival and one day short of my departure. She called my cell multiple times to see if I was checking in when I realized my error. When I finally answered after realizing it wasn’t a spam call, she was patient and incredibly understanding, keeping my booking in place and extended it by one more day as originally intended. My carelessness completely smoothed over thanks to her efforts. When I arrived in person, I clocked her friendly voice from the phone to her warm greeting in person when I walked through the front door. A.J. is extra Midwest nice, and you just don’t see that level of service anymore these days.

Nice Relaxing Stay The hotel was very nice and clean. All staff were very friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable it pillows not so much. It was very quiet as well. The room was nice and spacious.

My husband & son’s planned ( I might have had some say!) my 60th birthday dinner at Johnny’s in the party room! It was a dazzling room, the food was delicious, service great and Cheryl was on top of all the requests we had. I had a dream birthday with family & friends. Some people said they had not been to Johnnys & would be back, they raved about the food & the whole night!

Good location to access I-35 with plenty of restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. Nice lobby area, fitness room and pool area. There is a restaurant attached to the hotel (did not try this out). Room was nice and clean. Overall, it was fairly quiet ... except for when others would close their room doors (which are heavy). Small refrigerator is nice but would be nice to have a microwave too. Bathrooms are a bit crammed and having two people in the bathroom getting ready doesn't work well. Front desk staff was pleasant and helpful ... kudos! Hallways were humid and it didn't seem like there was air conditioning in them. Hotel could use another elevator as well as two elevators for six floors did leave you waiting most of the time. Ample parking available. Wish they would have free breakfast like other Hilton properties as $13.95 for a continental breakfast was a bit steep.

Girls wknd. Hotel was clean, decorating such a. Ute vibe. Comfy beds. Plenty of pillows. VERY friendly staff in every interaction. Highly recommend.
