We are so loving it here! The hotel room is so clean and spacious for a family of 4. Upon arrival Paige was excellent at her service. We felt so happy and glad for her outstanding service. She was kind, helpful and had gone beyond to ensure we had an amazing stay here. Breakfast was delicious with variety of choices. This is the best hotel for it's flexibility as we can use the amenities till midnight. Staffs are so friendly and helpful. We are definitely recommending to friends and family visiting Des Moines!

***1st message sent to hotel text service the night we checked in: We left right after we checked in to our room. We just got back to our room for the evening. The room smells very bad like mildew. When we got undressed to go to bed, we noticed the floor feels damp/wet & gross. ***2nd message sent to the text service the next morning after I talked to the lady at the front desk: Even when your head of cleaning walked in, she said: "whoa!" As soon as she smelled the room right when we opened the door. I guess this is your way of fixing the wet nasty floor for guests?!?! At least she was sympathetic, because she knows no one should've been assigned this room; and brought us blankets so we wouldn't have to walk on a completely wet floor. Also; when we got back last night, the air was on the coldest setting, I put the temp all the way up to 75, it's still only 66 degrees in the room... so that's broken also! We definitely should not be paying for this crappy room. I am not happy at all. The night person shouldn't have ignored my texts. The person at the desk this morning, offered to put in a work order, that totally wouldn't help our situation this morning... very nonchalant and didn't care. When I started explaining our situation, she replied "oh yeah..." so she knows we had a problem and texted, but she said sometimes they don't do a good job at replying to texts at night. This is not good customer service at all. When I checked out, I re-explained my situation to another male at the front desk. He said he'd give my info to the manager when she gets in about a refund. Yes! It was wonderful DJ the front desk man was hospitable and delightful, as the rest of the staff was very kind. The room seemed kind of small for a king, it was clean, but the bed was a bit uncomfortable. Overall, our stay was still good. The people made it super..

This was our first visit to the Hampton, which was located in a good place for our travel plans. Check-in was efficient, and our room was clean. We were a little worried since there were baseball teams spending the night there, but we never heard anything after 9:00. We had great shower pressure, and a good breakfast, even though the sports teams overwhelmed the breakfast area. Just behind the hotel, there is a walkway over the interstate which we found kind of fun. We would stay here again when in the area.

Although the people were nice and friendly, the cleanliness of this hotel has a lot to be desired. There was leftover food from someone in our room’s frig…yuck! And the carpet in the halls and elevator needed vacuuming. Overall our room’s bathroom needed attention. With all of that it makes me wonder what cleaning they actually do. Won’t be staying here again and has me losing some faith in the Hilton brand.
