On the 9th August 2025 Matt and his team hosted our wedding, they all worked so hard and surpassed all expectations. We had an incredible beautiful day and evening. Everyone was so happy and enjoyed themselves. They allowed our dogs to be a big part of our wedding and there was no restrictions in any area, they were even sat by the top table. The venue looked stunning and the tables were decorated beautifully. The food for the wedding breakfast was amazing and the pizza buffet along with chicken wings, bbq ribs and rosemary fries for the evening were enjoyed by all. We cannot thank Matt, Aga and the rest of the team enough and making our day so special. We stayed at the venue for 2 nights in the bridal suite and the room was extremely comfortable with a roll top bath, beautiful bath salts and lovely little touches of a nightcap of sloe gin and our room decorated with petals and roses whilst we were getting married. Some of our guests also stayed at the hotel and they were all extremely happy and comfortable with their rooms and would like to return for another visit.

A lovely pub in Wendover with great decoration and outside seating area. The room I had was amazing. Superbly decorated with radio FM playing for my arrival. Great TV which I couldn't get working and needed one of the reception staff to get it going. DOH. Lovely ensuite and superb provided smellies soaps etc. Evening meal and breakfast both great and served nice and early for the start on the trail. All in all this place gets my best vote for somewhere great to stay.

We had a wonderful stay at the Bel and Dragon. We were made to feel welcome from the moment we first walked in. It is so nice to be greeted with a smile. Check in was smooth and the person who showed us to our room was charming. The room itself was lovely; spotless and comfortable. Comfortable bed, great WIFI and great shower. Breakfast was very good and again, the person who served us was charming. We were there to celebrate our wedding anniversary and we really did have a wonderful time. Thank you so much to everyone for making us feel so welcome. We would love to come back.

Passing through on the motorbike. Nice room, good food, friendly staff, nice stay overall. Complementary gin and water in the room was a nice touch. I don’t have anything more to add but have to add words to meet the minimum character limit :-)

Stayed here at the red lion with the family my husband and 2 children for 5 nights we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We received a warm welcome much needed after a long day travelling, we had one of the family rooms and it was immaculate very clean very homely and the beds were so comfortable I struggled to get up for breakfast, on the bunk beds there was a teddy placed on each bed and the kids were very excited by that and outside our room was an area for with books and toys I loved the fact it was very child friendly. Breakfast was delicious there was a good selection of food on offer from the buffet table and the menu, our waitress for the week was brilliant (unfortunately I can't remember her name) very welcoming and nothing was to much trouble! I highly recommend the red lion I couldn't find fault with anything and would definitely stay here again!

The food service was very slow due to the kitchen staff, not the front of house staff. It took over 2.5 hours to complete our meal. It was well over 1 hour before our first course came out.

What a beautiful coaching inn, well maintained and beautifully styled. Room was such a great surprise, all mod cons but with so many little touches like fresh milk in a fridge and even some complimentary aloe gin! Breakfast which was included was fantastic too. There is a lively bar too but in our room 7 we did not hear any noise from it.

Our first visit to this delightful restaurant. Superb from start to finish. Lovely atmosphere, pleasant and competent staff. I had the crab arancini to start, and my wife had the hummus flatbread starter, both of which were excellent. I had the ribeye steak for main, and I would have to stay it was one of the best steaks I have ever had. My wife had a the crab and mussel linguine which was also excellent. Washed down with a couple of glasses of wine. Whilst it is probably more expensive than most in Wendover, the food and service are worth it

Lovely hotel
I stay at this hotel very often, it is very warm and welcoming, the beds are great as is the bedding, the people are lovely and the breakfast is really good. Food is also good but pricey
