Red Lion Hotel Wenatchee City Center

The Wenatchee Red Lion was an excellent budget choice. While a bit old, everything worked and the staff was very helpful and polite. The trains were a bit noisy at night, as ther train tracks are right behind the hotel. The pool and hot tub were both open and fairly well maintained. Breakfast was a decent buffet.

This a VERY tired property. If you don't mind 1970's decor it may be fine for you. I don't think this property has been updated in decades. No restaurant other than a "breakfast buffet" for $7.99 morning only. If you are a family with significant budget constraints, then his may be the place for you. No bar or lounge exists on this property. Trains run by and ion you love the sound of trains at night, this may be the place for you. It not for me when there are many nicer properties in Wenachee. 

Do Not Choose this hotel. While traveling in the area we researched hotels and this one had decent ratings and decent price. Bobbie the Manager did have a warm welcome. Debbie in the breakfast room was very pleasant and kept the long buffet area clean and well stocked. PROS. Location, Bed was comfortable, Plentiful bathroom amenities/towels. Large table to play games and eat, although we had to go down and get a lawn chair to sit in. Small refrig. Freezer holds three water bottles. Ice machine worked first day/night. Pool available. Plentiful free parking. As a gold member breakfast was free otherwise you paid ( in theory) Was a nice breakfast with plentiful drinks. CONS .. Maintenance !! bad unresolved wear and tear. We could not get the faucet in the shower to pull out. Were afraid we were going to hurt our arm or back seriously and we are strong and healthy. Finally stood in the tub, pulled with both hands and got it on afraid we were going to break it off.. When we called the front desk to ask about a maintenance man looking at it and fixing it, We were pretty much shrugged off with.Yeah, those are really stiff. Maybe you need to jiggle it maintenance man never came up overnight even. It continued to be stiff throughout stay.other employees commented, yes, those are really hard to open It's been that way a long time. Although we were reassured safety of guests was paramount in an area with drug related issues and a homeless population, in the morning, an obviously impaired unclean homeless man walked into the lobby sat down in one of the front chairs, plugged in his phone and sat there for quite some in plain view of the front desk who didnt seem to care. We were single women alone and there were many children in the hotel. Not a feeling of safety. Carpets were dirty, duct taped huge wrinkles everywhere, stains in our bedroom. As you check-in at the front desk your first view of the hotel, The office door is open. The carpet is filthy ragged stringy torn floor showing through the holes and looks unclean. Chairs in the breakfast room had huge duct tape which stuck to our clothing when we sat down. Exterior of building had many places where the wood was unpainted, wood rot, pool area had little shade and one of two umbrellas was broken. Plastic furniture was older and brittle. Pool water was cloudy. Room Patio was obviously not cleaned and pigeon poop had even clogged the track of the door so badly it would barely slide there was no place to sit and we would not have gone out anyway with that. No chair or reading lamp just large space with overhead track light with light bulb out. If you are mobilly challenged especially staying on the second or third floor elevators are inconveniently placed and do not take you to every floor, signage will lead you to stairwell's but it's still unclear.

Staff was friendly and breakfast was amazing. The room was clean but dated, with a torn carpet and no hot water—only lukewarm.

Friendly staff, clean parking lot, interior spaces and room. Convenient location, spacious and comfortable dining area and very good overall experience.
