Hampton Inn & Suites Wells-Ogunquit

This hotel is clean and staff very friendly. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The kids enjoyed the pool. Good location. Our favorite Hampton Inn stay.

Arrived for a quick one night stay while traveling through Maine. Arrived earlier than check in and was greeted with a smile. We were able to check in early. Front desk employee gave suggestions of restaurants/things to do. Room was clean. Bathroom ceiling had signs of wear (paint was stained feeling and ceiling cracked). Pool was clean and perfect temp. Coffee in lobby was welcomed after a long travel day. Will stop again if in the area!

Great hotel! The staff is customer oriented. The hotel is clean and up to date. A great experience. The breakfast area is clean and well stocked.

Been here many times but we are noticing changes that are not for the better: ie once upon a time, Hampton Inns had wonderful pillow-top mattresses, so heavenly it was once one of their trademarks. Alas, no more! Now they have been replaced by thick heavy hard mattresses which rest upon a black wooden platform with a navy blue "spring" which is actually some boards covered with fabric. No "give" to the mattress at all. So hard mattresses with no give result in very uncomfortable sleeping and very sore backs in the morning. (if you can actually get to sleep!) The height of the beds makes climbing into bed a chore for short people. If you think you'll have a relaxing swim in the pool, think again. Pool always loaded with screeching kids. They have taken away the delicious warm cookies at the front desk, something we always looked forward to and enjoyed. Now Hilton hotels are all pet-friendly which is great for pet owners but bad for the rest of us who may have asthma or allergies. Yapping dogs are not my idea of a relaxing vacation. But there are good points: front desk people were friendly, room was clean, breakfast personnel were very prompt in replenishing items. Will we return? Maybe during off-season when the rates are more reasonable. Just too bad about the hard beds.

Overall this was a nice place to stay. Clean and comfortable. My one beef was that I booked this hotel because it is supposedly pet friendly, they charge the $75 fee, but you can't leave your pet unattended in the room or bring your pet anywhere in the hotel with you. Not to mention, most places outside the hotel are understandably not pet friendly. So, it you bring your pet, expect to not plan to do much except sit in your room.
