Our group of six friends were fortunate to be upgraded to the penthouse suite on the top floor. It had three big bedrooms and ensuites plus a huge living area/kitchen and balcony. The pool, bar, restaurant and beach were right in front of us. We loved watching the surf lessons and the brilliant sunsets from our balcony. The food and service at this hotel was also great. We loved our two days and nights here.

Avoid this hotel. During our honeymoon, the staff contacted both me and my wife from private mobile numbers, sent us WhatsApp messages, and even used CCTV footage showing both of us at the reception to pressure us after their mistake with a currency exchange. The next day we returned to find our room safe open and money missing from my wallet. Completely unprofessional and unsafe experience. Stay anywhere else.

This hotel made us feel completely unsafe. While on our honeymoon, both my husband and I received calls and WhatsApp messages from a staff member’s private phone, and they even sent us a CCTV photo of both of us at the reception to pressure us about their own mistake with a currency exchange. The following day we returned to our room to find the safe open and cash missing. An extremely disturbing and unprofessional experience. I would never stay here again.

Our stay at Mandara Resort was truly delightful. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a warm and genuine welcome. A special thank you to Guest Relations Executive Maheshi, who took exceptional care of us and ensured every detail was perfect. The entire team went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and memorable. Hats off to all the staff for their outstanding hospitality and professionalism. We look forward to returning soon!

Absolutely stunning Ocean Suite with 3 double en-suite bedrooms and extensive living area and balcony. Fabulous 2 night stay right on the beach, ideal for swimming in the warm water or learning to surf.

Wow! What a smashing hotel! The gently sloping beach is literally metres away and the views across the bay are amazing. The suite we stayed in was outstanding and impossible to fault. The staff were all very friendly and did their utmost to make our stay a great one. Special mention must go to the chief lifeguard who whilst being very friendly was also professional and conscientious in ensuring swimmers (such as me) were safe

Nice hotel, location id a bit out of town. The room was clean and mostly appointed. Pool is very good and almost on the dirty beach. Staff were hit and miss, some helpful and some not so! Food was good but could be more variety.

Nice enough however a little baffled by the rating . We only booked last minute and the sea view room wasn’t cheap but I appreciate that . Lovely view and big spacious room with a great view ! Everything is very pleasant but all the surfaces in the room needed a really good wipe down , they were sticky and the floor hadn’t been cleaned properly, it looked like chocolate stuck to it in places . We were only there for one night so went with it but did mention to reception ( nothing was done , think it was a language barrier potentially) . Everything else was clean , bathroom , bedding etc Breakfast ok though got our cooked order wrong ( again a language issue I think ) , food in the pool bar decent too. I would have given this a 4 if it hadn’t been for the stickiness as that’s just lazy cleaning. Would I recommend- undecided
