Good location. Nice view. Decent clean room. Just slightly poor on the sound proofing. You may hear door slamming from other rooms in the morning. Glad they allowed late check out. Overall still a good stay.

The hotel's facilities are barely 3-star. Unlike other hotels, they don't call guests beforehand to inquire about check-in needs or arrival times, nor do they offer services via WeChat. My room was on a very low floor, and there's no pool. Upon arrival, I had to wait a long time to check in. It wasn't due to a crowd; I was only second in line. The front desk agent took an exceptionally long time to check in the person before me – I'm not sure what the hold-up was. My check-in, however, only took two minutes. I suppose I was just exceptionally patient. All the front desk staff looked quite unfriendly. Many of the hotel's housekeeping staff are young men who appear severely undertrained. I forgot to put up the 'Do Not Disturb' sign before bed, and at just past 8 AM, someone came to offer room cleaning. He knocked suddenly and urgently. Startled awake, I asked what he wanted, and he replied it was for 'housekeeping.' Before I could even decline the service, he had already opened the door and let himself in! Unbelievable! Thankfully, nothing embarrassing happened.

The hotel's decor is modern and stylish, offering a simple yet comfortable atmosphere. Initially, I found it a bit odd that the bedroom was entered through the bathroom, but waking up in the morning, I discovered this additional door effectively blocked all corridor noise. Breakfast offered a good selection, including freshly prepared dumplings and wontons, as well as made-to-order egg pancakes, Roujiamo (Chinese meat buns), and Youtiao (fried dough sticks). The only minor drawback was that the watermelon had a distinct garlic flavor, which was quite off-putting. The service team consisted of both seasoned professionals and some newer, less experienced staff. Nonetheless, the location and sea views were excellent. Access to the harbor bay was incredibly convenient; just exit the hotel, turn left, and an underpass leads directly there.

1. I called ahead and requested a non-smoking room, but Room 612 still had a strong cigarette smell. 2. There was no iron, which I suppose is understandable. 3. The 'minibar' consisted of just one Coke and one Sprite – hardly a minibar by any standard! 4. In Room 612, dirty medicine cups (used by both children and adults) were left uncleaned from the previous day. We noticed them and had to put them aside. 5. In Room 611, the pillow smelled bad the day before. It was too late to address it then, so I just set it aside. The next day, it was still there, untouched. Given that we were out late every day, we decided not to make a fuss. Frankly, for a five-star hotel to operate at this level leaves me utterly speechless.

The room was a good size, clean and tidy, with a practical layout and a nice view. The location was also very convenient. The cookies from the front desk were so delicious that my child went back for a second one, and the lovely lady at the front desk cheerfully gave it to them with a smile.

The hotel has a great overall atmosphere, even though it's located in the city center. Our room was surprisingly quiet at night, and from the window, we enjoyed beautiful sea views, including Liugong Island. The scenery is stunning on clear days and equally impressive at night. It's incredibly convenient for shopping and dining nearby! Everyone in our group, from the seniors to the kids, was quite happy with it. The people of Shandong are also very friendly and welcoming. The only minor drawback was traveling during the summer holiday, as it was incredibly crowded everywhere we went.

The hotel boasts a fantastic location in Weihai, offering convenient access to both the beach and shopping malls. The facilities, including the room's permanent fixtures, are excellent and have that distinctive Hilton touch. However, I must express some serious concerns and hope for improvements: 1. For a five-star hotel, the breakfast quality was mediocre. It offered limited variety and lacked any standout dishes. It was, in fact, not even as good as the Hampton by Hilton we stayed at in Rongcheng. 2. My biggest complaint by far was the severe sewer smell in the room. We stayed for two consecutive nights, and every time we re-entered the room, it took a long time to get accustomed to the odor. And to be clear: we only 'got used to' it; the smell never actually went away! We asked the front desk to change rooms, but were told nothing was available. When we requested engineering to resolve the issue, their 'solution' was simply to place a plastic bag filled with water over the drain. Predictably, the problem remained unsolved, and we were forced to tolerate the stench for two full days. (I've attached a picture of the water-filled plastic bag – quite an "ingenious" trick, but utterly ineffective!) Given the price of 1.3K per night, this standard of quality and service is frankly inexcusable. Therefore, I must unfortunately give low ratings for cleanliness and service.

The bed in the room was incredibly spacious, ideal for families like ours with older children. The location is fantastic, right in Weigao Plaza, super close to the food street and all the major attractions, making getting around extremely convenient. And the breakfast was delicious too!

Frankly, for a city that relies on tourism, Weihai surprisingly doesn't have a great selection of hotels; most are local five-star options. The DoubleTree by Hilton, however, stands out because it's a Hilton property, offering a more dependable and standardized experience. Its location is excellent: right next to Weigao Plaza and directly opposite the scenic seaside and the iconic Gate of Happiness, perfect for leisurely walks and with convenient access to various dining options. Service throughout our stay was also very good. While the breakfast spread isn't extensive, the quality and taste are excellent. The only minor drawback is that breakfast service only begins at 7 AM, which might not be ideal for early risers or those with tight travel schedules. Aside from that, everything else was superb.

We had originally booked a family room, but due to some facility issues, we were upgraded to a suite free of charge. The only drawback was how incredibly basic the bathroom amenities in the suite were – there wasn't even a mirror.

The room was spacious and clean, and the bed offered the perfect balance of firmness and comfort. The hotel boasts an unbeatable location, making it incredibly convenient to get anywhere. There are numerous dining options within easy reach. The area directly opposite the hotel is also a significant highlight, set to become a future must-visit landmark. The Old Happiness Gate is conveniently located right next door, which is a nice bonus. The breakfast here in Weihai truly stands out, surpassing that of other five-star hotels. I would absolutely choose Hilton again for my next visit.

My stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton Weihai truly exceeded my expectations. The hotel boasts a prime location in a bustling downtown area, with Weigao Plaza and Binhai Plaza just a stone's throw away. The front desk staff kindly upgraded my room. Upon entering, the automatic curtains drew back to reveal a breathtaking, unobstructed sea view, which was a delightful surprise. The facilities are modern, and the rooms even feature operable windows. The service was exceptionally warm and welcoming, and they thoughtfully presented a small gift upon check-out. The breakfast spread was extensive and of excellent quality, with the freshly prepared mackerel dumplings and wontons being a particular highlight.

On the night we checked in, we found the bathroom door was loose and wouldn't close properly. It felt like the glass panel was about to fall off, which was a safety concern. An engineer came to inspect it and confirmed the hinges were broken. We were then told that the repair couldn't be done until after we checked out. This was quite unsatisfactory and certainly not the standard I'd expect from a star-rated hotel.

The hotel is newly renovated and boasts an excellent location, right next to Weigao Plaza, offering great convenience for dining and shopping. The family-friendly rooms are very well designed, with the sleeping area and bathroom thoughtfully separated by a door. Plus, a beautiful sea view is revealed the moment you draw the curtains.
