Went for afternoon tea. It was Excellent. Lots of choice all freshly made couldn't finish it all so they boxed up the cakes to bring home. Definitely go again one of the best afternoon teas I have had.

Excellent meal at the Star inn . I had the mixed grill and my partner had the Salmon . I’m Gluten Free which the menu was extensive and explained brilliantly by the host Gemma. Sticky Toffee pudding for afters which we shared which was delicious.

Stayed for two nights mid week with friends and everything was spot on great food and accommodation. As we were running late in the first night the owners rang to check everything was ok and if we needed anything. Will definitely be staying again when back in the area

I had a wonderful stay at The Star Inn. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well looked after. The food was really enjoyable with plenty of choice, and every meal was spot on. The service stood out in particular, friendly, attentive, and welcoming throughout, even when we kept land lord and lady up till midnight on a Monday… Overall, a great experience and I’d happily return.

Party of 8 friends and family ate here last Sunday, the food was delicious and cooked to perfection. Service was exemplary and everyone went out of their way to ensure we were all happy with our food and had plenty to drink. Desserts were out of this world and all 8 of us said they were wonderful. Lovely place to stay and eat, we will be back

From start to finish, our Sunday lunch was outstanding. Every detail was handled beautifully. The staff greeted us warmly and had our table ready right on time. Service was friendly, efficient, and never rushed - impressive considering how busy the restaurant was. Our servers managed to keep drinks topped up and check on us just enough without interrupting the conversation. The food was exceptional. From the perfectly cooked roasts with crisp, golden potatoes to the seasonal vegetables and rich gravy, every plate came out hot and beautifully presented. The vegetarian option (incl gravy) was equally delicious. Portions were generous but well balanced, so everyone left happily full but not overstuffed. The atmosphere was lively yet comfortable, making it easy to enjoy a relaxed meal together. We never felt hurried, and settling the bill for a large group was quick and painless. If you’re looking for a top-notch Sunday roast with excellent service the Star is a must-visit. We’ll definitely be back!

I’ve visited The Star twice recently for Sunday lunch. The food was delicious, good quality and generous portions. The chocolate orange cheesecake was devine! The staff are very welcoming and friendly and delivered a great service.

Rude and disrespectful staff very obnoxious. Plenty of pubs in this area for a nice pint, would avoid this one if you want a peaceful experience… would 100% advice you avoid, 13 year old family member swearing at him paying customers at the bar .
