Spacious and comfortable, great location!

Fantastic layout

We stayed two nights on a weekend to attend a nearby family event. The room was very nice, and despite traffic on the street below, we got two good nights sleep. We enjoyed the breakfast. We got our room cleaned both days, which is getting rare.

The room was quite spacious. The bedroom looked more updated than the living room. The view was facing military street. I was on the 5th floor. Breakfast was ok. The order to cook omelletes were a good touch. The staff on the breakfast team were also nice. The ladies at check in were pleasant. The cheesecake factory downstairs was open but I did not have time to go. Its opposite a small mall. As most reviews stated it can use an update but it was a good stay for what I needed. For TV you have to pay $19 for current movies per movie. They dont have smart TV’s.

We have stayed here years ago and had no issues so when we were coming to DC for another trip we looked to stay here again. The big draw is that it is right on top of the Friendship Heights metro station and you also save money because it is not right downtown. That means cheaper room rate and cheaper parking. Upon arrival at the hotel we were immediately noticed that a lot of the shops have been vacant for some time. There are man parts of the public areas of the building that look like abandoned construction projects. Anyways, once we made it to the front desk the staff at check in were very friendly and welcoming. The room was pretty standard, though some of the fixtures did seem a bit dated and the pillows were mostly flat and seemed in need of replacement. We used the sofa bed and it clearly had not been cleaned well. In fact there was an entire sandwich under the sofa. Another issue we ran into was the escalators seemed to always be having issues throughout the building. The one going down to the metro area seemed broken the entire stay. There could also be clearer signage about accessing the hotel in the evening. We returned to the hotel after 9 pm and found the door from the metro area to the hotel locked and had to then figure out on our own how to get in (Found the main entrance and got in with our keycard). Breakfast was decent, besides the scrambled eggs which looked like white mush and tasted the same. Again staff was friendly though so overall I would rate the hotel as average.
