stay clear from this property! my family and I drove two hours to stay here. we pull up and the place is very over grown and downed cut up trees were all over. there was a broken electrical box just laying in the driveway beside the garage. okay. we looked passed that. we opened the door and there was an awful smell of gasoline fumes. that’s the only way we could describe it. the house was cold-55 degrees in there when we walked in so we turned the heat on. two hours later it only went up to 56 and we had realized we didn’t hear anything running that sounded like the heat was on. my partner checked the breaker box and saw it was flipped off. she turned it on and the heat kicked on. we were so happy. five minutes later the breaker flipped off. mind you I messaged the property host updates of everything that was going on and didn’t hear from them for three hours. we tried to call the number listed and it said “user busy.” they didn’t respond until I told them we are leaving the property. not once did they apologize or try to make things right. awful customer service! they did refund us part of our stay and said we’d have to contact vrbo for the rest of the refund. we’ve contacted vrbo twice and they’ve told us they haven’t been able to get in touch with the property owners to get their permission to refund us the rest of the money. absolutely horrible horrible customer service. I never complain unless things are really bad and this was HORRIBLE! STAY AWAY!

Our stay was okay. The location was lovely but the house was underwhelming - lots of small things broken around the house, humid and dank, don't expect I would return.

Our stay was ok. The house was cute, but the kitchen not well stocked. The beds were comfy and there were plenty of pillows and blankets. The dining area was perfect for eating and playing games. The WiFi was fine, but we had absolutely no cell service. The area was nice, but we weren’t able to enjoy the outside of the property much. The lawn, walkway and under deck area were overgrown and not well maintained. The outside deck wasn’t well maintained either and the firepit was over grown with grass. Walks along the C&O Canal were nice and if you have kayaks or other watercraft, there is easy access. The towpath along the canal was great for walking and is also great for biking. So if you have either you may want to bring them. There was no guestbook so we couldn’t learn about fun places to visit from previous guests or leave ideas for future guests. Antietam is so close and a great walk through history. There is Nutter’s Ice Cream in Sharpsburg and Shepardstowm, only 15 minutes away, is a cute little town that is worth visiting. And of course, Harper’s Ferry is awesome and only 30 minutes away. Overall the house was ok and allowed us to spend a little family time and take in local sights.

Quaint and comfortable
Comfortable and right at the C&O trail, so easy to take lovely walks. The house is clean, the kitchen and dining spaces more than adequate, multiple common areas are nice, as are bedrooms. Minor issue in that it seems the visitors before us made the remote for the downstairs tv disappear. Connection via phone, text etc can be spotty unless you're on the houses wifi, which worked well.

It was very comfortable and the outdoor beauty was excellent. Great location for the area.
Only negative was a sofa couch that obviously had been repaired before but failed when one of us sat down. We have pictures. Made a note of it to the contact person. They stated they would have team repair it after we left. There would be no $charges$ applied (since we did not do the damage).

Family/girls weekend
The property was great for relaxing, touring local history and enjoying the recreation on the Potomac River and bike trail. We had a slight issue with the water heater, called the property contact and the problem was fixed within the hour. Excellent service and great stay. We would stay again.

Lovely location
We very much enjoyed our stay. The grounds are beautiful and the proximity to the canal trail is wonderful. Beds are very comfortable. House is adorable. Kitchen could be better equipped. I bought a few extra coffee cups and left them for the next guests.
