My review is in no way to negatively criticize the Inn. Staying here for the week was just not for us. I made the reservation because of the beautiful location overlooking the river, and was satisfied we would enjoy our stay. We were assigned room 202. Room very small with only one chair and a desk chair for two people in the room. My husband who for 80 is in good shape took a shower once we arrived. The tub was very slippery with no bath mat for the tub or mat to step on outside of the shower. Had there been a bath mat not only inside the tub and a bath mat outside, it would have been fine. We arrived in the late afternoon and we returned in the evening after visiting family, We wanted to enjoy our cocktail, but realized there was no ice available so we went out and purchased a bag of ice. There is a small fridge and microwave but no utensils, paper plates or water for coffee in the morning. The next morning, we called and spoke to Vicky expressing our concerns for the tub safety. Fortunately we were told they had one room with a walk in shower and we could move into that room. This ADA room only had one chair and no desk chair. I can never understand rooms having one chair when two people occupy a room. The second occupant has to sit on the bed. I was informed that this was a Airbnb and there was no daily housekeeping. If you wanted extra towels they would provide them for you. Since there was only two packets to make coffee in the morning, you would have to ask for more including styrofoam cups. I was advised that the amenities were listed on the website, except there was no mention for the fact there was no daily housekeeping that would bring clean towels or coffee packets or trash can liners. There is not a closet in the room but a rack that you can hang you clothes on. That was broken but fixed by the end of the day. There is a iron and ironing board which is necessary since there is really no room to hang clothes. This hotel may be good for you if you are passing through or staying overnight but it wasn’t for us staying the whole week and had someone posted a review of the above, we would have found another place to stay. The private club next door is very cozy but closed Monday and Tuesday. Not a problem for us since we were there the entire week and we enjoyed the club and history of Elijah McLean. Several birds had made nests above some of the rooms so there was bird poop in those areas we had to step around. Housekeeping or maintenance should make sure that is hosed down.
