Dock Inn Hostel Warnemünde

Plus: Het hostel ligt direct tegenover S-Bahnstation Warnemünde-Werft met frequente verbindingen naar Rostock. De Aldi en REWE zijn om de hoek. Het hostel doet trendy aan. Min: Het meubilair is duidelijk over de datum. Sporen van slijtage op de vloeren en bij de douchecabine. De zitmeubelen in lobby zijn versleten en de bekleding is gescheurd. Over de afzuiginstallatie in de badkamer is al tijden geen doek meer gehaald. Heel stoffig. Hier wordt duidelijk niet geïnvesteerd in het up-to-date houden van de kwaliteit. Dat doen ze overigens wel met de prijzen: die zijn heel actueel. 110 euro per kamer per nacht. Liever zou ik het niet schrijven, maar dit hostel heeft een slechte prijs/kwaliteitverhouding. Jammer. Ook jammer is dat wanneer je aankomt er door de hippe receptionist met staartje op zijn hoofd niet even een ‘welkom’ vanaf kan. Niet vriendelijk. En vervolgens zo snel de bedrijfsmededelingen vertellen, dat je er niets van begrijpt.

Wir haben einen Frühstücksgutschein geschenkt bekommen und haben ihn an einem Samstagmorgen eingelöst. Das Früstück war überschaulich aber lecker. Für ein Hostel auf alle Fälle ausrichend. Vegane Alternativen, Kaffee, Säfte, süße Backwaren. Eine schöne Auswahl und es war sehr lecker. Das Ambiente ist mega.

This hostel, made from former shipping containers, is just a few minutes from the city center. The rooms are narrow (containers, of course) but well equipped, comfortable bed, decent bathroom. Large common room with bar, play area, washing machine and co-working area. Great breakfast.

Very modern, stylish hostel. We, as over 50s, liked it there too. We were a bit surprised by the narrow rooms, but that's just how containers are laid out... Everything was clean and the staff friendly and helpful. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom and shower were perfect. We were able to park our bikes in a hallway area without any problem. The location is very good. Only about 700 meters to the old town and right next to the train station. The only negative point is the price. A hostel that primarily appeals to younger people with tighter budgets that charges 128 euros per night without breakfast is too expensive.

I felt comfortable and can recommend it. Modern industrial-style hostel. Comfortable beds, bed linen and towels clean and cozy. Clever construction of the bunk beds - so that everything doesn't shake when someone moves (the mattress is suspended; it rocks minimally). Rooms spartan but very functionally furnished. Very compact space, like an overseas container. When the place is full, it gets cozy. Sanitary facilities, as stated, are also small. Not a mobile home feeling, but definitely not for obesity patients. Communal kitchen spotlessly clean. The contents of the many communal refrigerators are also meticulously monitored (nothing from last winter). Quiet surroundings. S-Bahn stop directly opposite. Aldi and Rewe within walking distance next door. 17 minutes on foot/1.5 km to the beach. Great value for money for the high season. For the dorms: bring a padlock. I missed a curtain/privacy screen for the lower beds too. I would book it again.

The containers were very cramped, the bathroom was a disaster, you could barely fit into the shower if you were of normal weight. Normal hygiene standards were not present. Children were riding skateboards in the breakfast room, knocking over tables, but the staff didn't mind and so on... Never again. It was best when you saw Dax doc Inn from the outside. A disaster.

I will never stay at the Dock Inn with small children again. The concept is fundamentally innovative. Rooms have been made out of old shipping containers. In the hotel itself, you can either eat something at the bar or cook in a communal kitchen. There is a gaming room, a cinema, even a sauna, and various games to borrow. The public space is just for being. The piano, which is open there, must not be played, as it is an instrument and not there to be played. Not a single adult has played a whole piece of the piano correctly these days. The children just ran up to it and were sent away! You can borrow skateboards, you can ride them around indoors for free. What do you think, dear Dock Inn, children do with them? Play, of course. The staff constantly came and complained. Our children played normally and moved around normally in public spaces. One boy was told off for not wearing a mask. He was 12! A group that was happily partying on the first floor - the music volume was perfectly fine as long as the door was closed - had to turn the music off! Partying is not allowed either. Dear Dock Inn: What do you want to be? A hostel for young people or a hotel for adults who don't party and don't have children? You need to rethink your concept. And your staff - especially the stiff young blonde woman - need to work on their friendliness!

Very friendly staff. Very good location. Rooms very well equipped. Breakfast buffet was absolutely adequate. You can rent e-bikes and there are a few leisure activities available. Particularly suitable for younger people. Overall a great stay!
