Very eco friendly hotel with an observatory for stargazing in a dark sky location. Very good beds. With a bath. I forgot my pillow and they send it to for free afterwards, that is service! Food was good and after a English breakfast you can skip lunch. I even held a piece of the moon within the observatory.

Everything was amazing.....definitely recommend this place to friends and family. The staff were helpful and friendly. Our room was very clean and comfortable. We do o another trip next year!

Lovely comfortable room with fruit and biscuits on arrival as well as a coffee, tea and chocolate area. The food was excellent, including the superb tasting menu, breakfasts and evening meals. Service in the restaurant was exceptional and service from housekeeping was spotless and efficient. The Battlesteads Hotel is in a great location to explore so many sights and walks in Northumberland. They do have a dark sky observatory, for extra costs, but we did not explore this facility.

Don't bother, unreliable booking! Booked direct by phone, was promised confirmation by email,none received. Sent email query, no response Phoned day before booking, promised call back in 25-30mins, did not happen.

Great staff, friendly and helpful. Rooms are good, decent size and comfortable with everything you need. Had an excellent evening meal and breakfast. Lovely service and good food choices. Good selection of local beers/ales.

A last-minute decision for us to stay having booked to eat in the restaurant and we weren't disappointed. Our room was spotlessly clean and more spacious than expected. We needed to look for someone in order to check in but in all other respects the staff were very welcoming and attentive.

The rooms and hotel were very clean. (Thank you cleaners ) Well equipped room. All staff super friendly , hard working and nothing is a bother. The food was fantastic ! The garden was a beautiful sun trap . We went to The dark sky observatory. Although cloudy it was full of interesting facts. Well worth booking. Thank you Battlestead staff for making our Northumberland weekend perfect!

Very nice hotel
Had a lovely one night stay, comfortable room and very nice bar with very friendly staff and a resident Cat :) .
Food was very good and fantastic breakfast options. They also have an observatory at the back of the hotel if you want to experience Dark Sky astronomy, unfortunately cloud cover on our stay but would certainly go back.
