Extremely disappointing experience with this Marriott property and Marriott customer service overall. My daughter and her partner reserved a presidential suite here months in advance for their wedding. They were contacted by the hotel General Manager (GM) and told their confirmed presidential suite reservation had been double-booked. However, the General Manager provided no explanation as to why the reservation was given to the other customer instead of honoring the earlier booking. He offered a junior suite instead and told them to call back once they decided what to do. Despite at least seven follow-up calls and voicemails, he never responded. This left them less than a month before their wedding with no resolution. To help, I opened a case with Marriott Guest Services regarding the reservation debacle and lack of responsiveness. When the issue was escalated to Marriott Elite Services—a team one would expect to resolve matters when all else fails—the representative I spoke with was extremely rude, started the conversation by interrogating me instead of listening, accused me of raising my voice when I told him I didn’t like feeling like I was being interrogated like a criminal, told me he was going to transfer me, then hung up on me. This resulted in a second case being opened. This is not just one failure, but two: at the property level and at the corporate level. The lack of accountability, transparency, and basic customer care caused major inconvenience and unnecessary stress during an important life event. I would strongly caution against relying on this property—or Marriott corporate—for special occasions.
