The food was excellent, with a great variety and high quality. We especially enjoyed the à la carte restaurants, where the service was truly outstanding. A special thank you to Sameer, the captain at the à la carte restaurant. He made our dining experience unforgettable. With great attention and professionalism, he shared fascinating stories about Greece, local wines, and beautiful places to visit. He created such a warm and pleasant atmosphere for us. The beach is another big advantage of this hotel — very suitable even for children, thanks to the stone wave protection, which makes the water calmer and safer. We chose a sea-view room, and it was absolutely worth the cost. The view was breathtaking. The room was beautiful, very clean, and perfectly suited for us, with both a bathtub and shower, a comfortable king-size bed, and a balcony overlooking the sea. We truly enjoyed our stay and would love to come back again."

"I am going to write an honest review and be objective and non-bias as possible. Don't believe all the good reviews you read on here because many of them are bias, especially the good ones and how good the masseuse was (probably written by the masseuses themselves in order to increase the bookings for a massage in the spa). The tennis center right by the hotel is owned by Germans who work there so they are also probably the ones who keep adding good reviews about the hotel. Always look and pay extra attention to negative reviews. First, Crete is way, way, overrated. From my experience the inhabitants of the island don't understand English well enough, and they are not service-oriented. All the beaches and most of the hotels are very mediocre. My previous vacation in Antalya, Turkey, was much better . Relative to other hotels in Crete, Kalimera Kriti hotel has many advantages and it is one of the better hotels you are going to find in Crete, because it is a small, isolated hotel on a very large area, with a nice private beach, and nice view of the mountains. There is also a very big tennis center, with many clay courts that are well maintained, and some artificial grass courts. They put me in Room H-109 the first few nights, but it was very noisy. The rooms in general are badly insulated in terms of acoustics. I could hardly sleep at night and there are also no blackout curtains. The white coating in the bathtub itself was peeling off and produced sharp scrapes , so I asked for a room change. It took them 2 nights to change me to another room. They transferred me to room M-34 which has no Wi-Fi reception, and even though I complained that there is no Wi-Fi at all in my room they never fixed it. I wasn't trying to be a "KAREN" but there were some serious issues with the rooms, but they refused to let me speak with the manager, so good luck with that… The food was generally good- especially the breads, the baked-on-the-spot individual pizzas, and the desserts. I suspect that some of the fish and seafood were previously frozen and not fresh, because the octopus was too salty and so were the striped red mullets. Some of the shrimps may had been frozen shrimps that come from Southeast Asia (China/Vietnam) and not from the Mediterranean. I was there 5 nights, and unfortunately, they had carvery roast beef on only 1 night. I didn't eat the soups, even though I love soups, because they seemed to be made from recycled meat and/or vegetables from last night's dinner. The milk in breakfast was the ULTRA-pasteurized processed kind that has a shelf life of like 4 months so I didn't touch it even though I love a glass or two of fresh milk in the morning. Almost all the guests in the hotel were Germans, which is plus, because Germans are generally polite and quiet. They rely on that their German guests recommend to other Germans about the hotel, so if you are not German, the hotel staff may treat you as a second-class (Grade B) guest, so beware o"

"We would like to express our sincere gratitude for such a wonderful holiday at Meli Palace! My friend and I stayed from June 20th to June 30th, and we couldn’t have chosen a better place for our vacation. From the moment we arrived until the day we left, we felt welcomed and relaxed. We would happily return. Location The location is absolutely beautiful. The hotel is surrounded by the sea on one side and mountains on the other, with breathtaking views everywhere. It’s in a peaceful area, perfect for a relaxing holiday. The lovely village of Sissi is just over 2 km away. We walked there along the coast, enjoying the scenery. A taxi costs €7. It’s a charming little village that is definitely worth visiting. Beach Sunbeds and umbrellas are free, and beach towels are provided in the room and can be exchanged at the pool. The beach is sandy, with pebbles at the entrance and rocks further into the sea. There are several clear areas for easier access, but we recommend water shoes—they make swimming much more comfortable. There is also a lifeguard on duty. There were usually enough sunbeds, although towards the end of our stay it became busier, so arriving earlier for a shaded spot was a good idea. Pool The pool is not large, but it is clean, well maintained, and never felt crowded. However, the sunbeds around it were usually occupied early. Food The food exceeded our expectations. There was a good variety every day, especially meat and fish. Our only suggestion would be to offer a little more seafood. Rooms The rooms are simple but comfortable, spotless, and well maintained. Housekeeping was excellent. Our Sea View room offered beautiful views of both the sea and the mountains. Staff The staff truly make this hotel special. Everyone was friendly, professional, and always ready to help. Special thanks to the bartenders for their delicious cocktails and willingness to prepare drinks that weren’t even on the menu. Entertainment & Facilities There is a small shop on the hotel grounds selling souvenirs, snacks, drinks, and beach essentials. The hotel also offers plenty of excursions to explore Crete. Every evening there was a different entertainment program, including Greek dancing, live music, singers, fire shows, and acrobats. It created a wonderful atmosphere. We also loved the friendly hotel cats—they are clearly well cared for and add even more charm to the property. One more thing that was a definite plus for us as Ukrainians 😉 was that we hardly encountered any Russian tourists during our stay. Overall, Meli Palace is a perfect place for anyone looking for a peaceful holiday with beautiful scenery, delicious food, and exceptional hospitality.
