I recently stayed at Gecko's Resort and had a very relaxing and enjoyable experience. The resort has a peaceful atmosphere that’s perfect for unwinding. The rooms are spacious and well-kept, with a comfortable bed that made for restful nights. I especially appreciated the little touches like free DVDs available to borrow – a nice bonus for quiet evenings in.
The location is great too – just a short distance from the beautiful Sigatoka Sand Dunes and the Pacific Ocean, so there’s no shortage of things to see and do nearby.
One downside, however, is the Wi-Fi. Access requires a voucher, and if you're streaming videos (like on YouTube), the data only lasts around two hours. This was a bit inconvenient, especially in an age where connectivity is expected to be seamless.
Overall, Gecko's Resort is a great option for a peaceful getaway with a few nice extras. Just be prepared to manage your internet usage or consider unplugging and enjoying the serene surroundings.

Das Resort ist in die Jahre gekommen aber schön angelegt und wird täglich gepflegt. Es waren wenig Gäste da. Die Lage direkt an der Queensroad und ohne direkten Strandzugang ist für längere Aufenthalte nicht zu empfehlen. Größter Minuspunkt ist das angebotene Essen. Ich bekam nicht das was in der Karte stand (gefülltes Hähnchen in Weißweinsauce kam als gefülltes Hähnchen aus der Packung mit Ketchup) und die eh schon überteuerten Preise waren bei der Abrechnung plötzlich Australische Dollar. Das ist den Gästen gegenüber nicht fair.

Stayed for a week on my own, having booked before I saw it recommended in the Lonely Planet guide and was pleased with my choice. I dare say the Denarau resorts and the Shanghai-La are more efficient but I prefer a more local feel when on holiday. Hiring a car would’ve been smart. The hotel restaurant is pretty good but there are very limited alternatives in walking distance for a change of scene. Only other advice is to check prices on a range of websites - I got a very good rate but could easily have paid two or three times as much.

As a family of 5 we stayed at Geckos in interconnecting rooms. As we were budget conscious travellers it was a great choice rather than the surrounding 5 star resorts. The restaurant have a high standard of food for moring, lunch and dinner, with a night time show on three nights a week. This is probably not the type of place you would want to stay if you just wanted to stay in the resort and not go anywhere although it does have all the facilities for you to do that. We preferred to spend our money on a hire car and get out and do day trips. As well as the resturaunt, there is a coffe shop / souveniers, TV room, day spa, 2 pools, and a bar with pool tables. The grounds are kept spotless and the housekeeping was alway very attentive. The rooms are basic with everyhting you need and quite spacious. There were a few maintenance issues our toilets didn't always flush the first time, and the TV antennae wasn't working in our room but considering we were in FIJI, we didn't consider this a problem. Reception were alway very attentive to ensure our needs were always met. Its grea tto see so many locals from the surrounding villages employed here and that it is helping to put money back into the community.

Nice place for a two night stay.
Nice place for a two night stay. We used it as a base so to visit the Sigatoka Sand Dunes which are near by as well as a costal drive and inland hike to a water fall and swim. The resort was nice, a bit older with basic but clean accommodations. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The oddest part is the three time per week Polynesian not Fijian dance performance. Guests from the Shangri La Resort come for the free show. The boisterous Aussies and Kiwis seemed to enjoy it. We thought it out of place.
The only negative was an odd smell at times that seemed to be from sewage.

What a delightful place! The rooms are large and each have a comfortable queen bed as well as a single. Each room has it's own bathroom as well as a large bar fridge, TV and tea and coffee making facilities. Rooms are serviced daily and are very clean. The resort has 2 pools and plenty of sun lounges and seating areas. The gardens are well maintained and there is a small children's play area. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all available in the large dining area. There is a separate bar with pool table. A highlight of our stay was the overwhelming friendliness of the staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they greeted us every day like old friends. It's an easy walk to an amazing family run restaurant just over the road and about a 1km walk to a convenience store. Exceptional value for money.

we are from Australia, it was my family's first ever resort stay and we totally loved it, they kids loved the pool and the fire and dancing displays. ocean was close 😊🏝
all staff were very polite and helpful.
we will definitely be staying again in the future.
