"The hotel is in a great location, just a short uphill walk into the village. The staff were so welcoming, it felt more like being a guest of the family than a visitor. The rooms were comfortable and offered a spectacular view of Tuscany. The pool was perfect for cooling off after a day exploring. A special mention has to go to Elena, who hosted a superb wine tasting. She is a top sommelier and shared plenty of tips about Tuscan wine that made the experience even more memorable."

"The hotel is very serene & quiet. The staff is friendly & always helpful The rooms are basic, clean, large & comfortable. Our bathroom was huge, and had a great overhead heater. I loved the outside areas, beautiful courtyards. Unfortunately the evenings were a bit cool to enjoy them fully. There is about a 20 minute walk to the center of Volterra. It's flat until you get to the city walls! We enjoyed diner both nights at the restaurant. The food was delicious & reasonably priced. I hope to return to Volterra & would love to stay at this hotel again. "

The beautiful Tuscan architecture, thoughtfully crafted cuisine, and breathtaking views of the rolling hills from our room were unforgettable. We stayed in a charming two-story cottage complete with a kitchen, which made our vacation feel both luxurious and relaxing. The horseback riding experience was the highlight of my trip. Between the excellent fitness center, multiple pools, and stunning scenery around every corner, the property offered the perfect balance of activity and tranquility. "Fantastic hotel in one of the most beautiful spots in Tuscany. What a view! And within walking distance of the old medieval center. The hotel owners are wonderful people, very helpful and friendly. Super clean and well-maintained. Eating in the restaurant is definitely recommended for anyone who wants to experience authentic Tuscan food; we love it! The hotel has a fantastic large swimming pool. Large, spacious rooms (downstairs), large terraces and gardens; highly recommended. And if you want to taste the wines of Tuscany, or even more, you must do the wine tasting. Sommelier Elena tells you with full passion everything about the food and wine pairings and the history of Volterra, Tuscany, and all the wines. You have to do this!"

"Great location near shopping, restaurants, the Etruscan Arch, and the La Dogana parking garage. Attractively decorated. The room was comfortable and well laid out…we even had our own sort of "movie theater" due to the TV placement. The bed was comfortable, the area was quiet at night, and the shower was a nice size. The breakfast buffet offered many choices and they had thought of everything travelers might want (for example, both salted and unsalted butter; still and sparkling water; etc.) The only downside was that some rooms are halfway between the main floors (hard to explain) and require taking extra stairs. If you have trouble with stairs, try to avoid those rooms."

"We chose a room at the front with Aircon. Booked through ***********. we had many different instructions on how to access the place but managed to get in in the end. Car parking is hit and miss and there are only really four spaces without blocking others in. Our room was tiny and nothing like the pictures on the internet. First problem was that the room door would not stay shut without a severe slam. It was cracked so light from the hall shone through. There was one paper cup in the bathroom for two of us. The bedside drawer had a couple of screwed up drinks bottles in it that a previous guest had left. Breakfast was vegan with a large choice of cakes, they all tasted like sawdust apart from the ones with mould spots on the underside. Beware if you are not very fit because it is a very steep walk to the town gate and some of that walk is on a busy road with no pavement for pedestrians."
