Countryside location, about a half hour drive to Braga. Scenery of the location is pleasant rather than stunning. Standard of decor and fittings is first rate but I felt sometimes the hotel struggled a bit, such as at breakfast time, when it took a long time for food to arrive or I had to ask 3 or 4 times for a coffee… I suspect the experience would be great when the hotel is empty… Room was well appointed and spotless, bed very comfortable. There were lots of good areas to sit and relax in the hotel and gardens are well maintained but not huge.

The setting was amazinng. The Hotel was absolutely georgeous, the service was excellent and the food was delicious. Would totally recomend it.

We had a wonderful weekend at Maison Albar. Big thanks to the staff for making our weekend unforgettable. Everyone was really kind and no questions asked were too much. We’ll definitely come back!

More like staying at a fabulously wealthy friend's residence. Driving up you see the fountain, a circular entrance, huge timber doors opening on to marble floors and a double staircase. The room, grounds and staff are all wonderful. Thank you. Just about the nicest place I've ever stayed.
