"This was potentially the best customer service I have ever received at a hotel. Unfortunately, I missed the name of the woman who checked me in, but she was wonderfully warm and bubbly. She welcomed me to Vernazza, offered genuinely helpful advice that enhanced my visit, and remained exceptionally kind and attentive throughout my short stay. The room was small, as is common in the compact villages of the Cinque Terre, but it was comfortable, clean and excellent value for such a popular destination. The breakfast spread was also wonderful. The location could hardly be more convenient. The hotel is only moments from the railway station, which was particularly appreciated when arriving with luggage, while the village, walking trails, trains and boat services are all within easy reach. It was an ideal base for exploring the Cinque Terre by foot, rail and, of course, by boat. As one of Vernazza’s relatively few traditional hotels, Pensione Sorriso also offers visitors an opportunity to support a local hospitality business rather than staying in a holiday flat. In small and heavily visited communities such as this, I believe that is well worth considering. A welcoming, comfortable and memorable place to stay, made particularly special by the outstanding hospitality."

"Perfect location: very close to train station but not noisy. Easy walk to the water. Staff: very approachable and helpful. Room: Kitchen very functional. We chose the first floor as there are a lot of stairs. Bed was comfortable. The washroom was spacious, however there appeared to be mold-like substance on the wall near the toilet. Provided: Coupon for breakfast (€14) was delicious. Also was provided with cookies, croissants, jam, tea and coffee in the room. For those that are lactose intolerant or vegan the first shop on the right south of the train station has vegan pesto."

"Elevator. Refrigerator. Free water, Pepsi, espresso. 5 min walk from train station. Quiet end of town. Very close to car parking. Clean. No ac but effective ceiling fan. Check in inside Pippo bar. Bed comfortable. Walk in shower in bright bathroom. Room 8 has small balcony, nice cross-breeze. Manager communicates well using Booking app. Had small hiccup with safe which was easily manager handled quickly. 10:00 checkout seems too early. Baggage storage in Info point about two minutes away. Great restaurant next door, Il Pirate. Best bruschetta ever."

"Excellent location - we were here for 2 nights and unfortunately, we had to forfeit one night because of an emergency - so ultimately we had to cram our Vernazza stay and activities in just one night. The hotel was clean - steps to apartment were narrow so don't bring large heavy bags. With windows shut you cannot hear any street noise so it was a good room overall"
