Naveria Heights Lodge ★★★★

📍 Naveria, Vanua Levu

"Absolutely outstanding place to stay! We stayed in the top-level rooms. They are clean and airy with beautiful views from the balcony. The tour guide Michael was a fountain of information and took us on several tours and walks all over with a smile. The housekeeping staff were wonderful, it was like having a live-in grandmother. Serita (sorry if we spelt it wrong) made sure we were well supplied with delicious breakfast and fresh water every day. The walk up the hill is a very good way to get fit, but if you'd like they will drive you up and down."

Gecko Lodge Fiji

Gecko Lodge Fiji ★★★

📍 Lesiaceva Road, Vanua Levu

"We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 week stay in the spacious front room with verandah overlooking the bay. The bed is good, the room clean and the towels and sheets changed whenever requested. The outside common kitchen is basic but convenient. The hosts Jeremy and Ana are very friendly and obliging and Ana can provide a wonderful massage. The walk into town is only about a kilometre and the taxi service recommended by the hosts is very reliable and friendly. We highly recommend Gecko Lodge."

"It didn’t take us long to realize we were at a unique resort after arriving to Namale. We were treated like extended family returning home. The food/drink, bures, excursions, and nightly entertainment are wonderful. It’s the local staff who effortlessly provides an exceptional guest experience every single time. We’ll be back! 10/10"

Daku Resort
8.3 (61 reviews)

Daku Resort ★★★

📍 5 Lesiaceva Rd, Vanua Levu

"It had been a while since our last visit to Savusavu and Daku, and it was a wonderful relief to return — this time with our children — and find it just as beautiful, relaxing, and comfortable as ever. What a treat to revisit old memories while making new ones with the kids, exploring the bustling little town of Savusavu and beyond, and returning each day to the warmth, comfort, and kindness of Daku. The team are incredibly friendly, helpful, and responsive — nothing was ever too much to ask. From seeking out fresh coconuts for the kids, to restaurant tips, directions to the best swimming, beachcombing, and snorkelling spots, and organising trips to thermal pools, waterfalls, villages, and cafés, they made everything effortless. Kids loved the 'words of the day' lists...learning Fijian words and phrases, and practicing with the team. Worth mentioning that one of our children has slightly higher needs, and the team were flexible with menu alterations wherever they could - greatly appreciated. All in all, they strike exactly the right balance between suggesting activities and giving us the space to make our own way. Excellent food, beautiful grounds, a great pool for the kids (although they also love popping in the bay just across from the front gate - all got the hang of snorkelling immediately, and was great to be able to use equipment from the resort). Very comfortable beds. Aircon and ceiling fans worked brilliantly. And the new massive yoga deck is a fabulous addition - what a view! The whole holiday was quiet, relaxing, and simple in all the best ways. Exactly what we were after. We left feeling rested and recharged. Thank you for everything, Aubrey, Joe, Joshika, Peggy, and everyone else — we’ll be back!!"

Koro Sun Resort & Rainforest Spa

Koro Sun Resort & Rainforest Spa ★★★★

📍 Hibiscus Hwy, Savusavu, Vanua Levu

"If you're visiting the North Island, this hotel offers excellent value for money. They provide free airport shuttle service. If you want to go to a dive shop in town, you can ask the hotel to help you call a taxi. The hotel offers a variety of daily activities; I recommend feeding the sleeper sharks and seeing the turtles. The hotel staff are very welcoming and will greet you with a "bula." Philip, who greeted us, was especially nice. Compared to the high prices on the main island, the town on the North Island is incredibly affordable. Aside from the slightly inconvenient transportation, the North Island is the perfect choice in terms of both price and experience."

Fiji Lodge Vosa Ni Ua

Fiji Lodge Vosa Ni Ua ★★★

📍 5CQW+77X, Bucca Road, Vanua Levu

"The worst part was that they gave me the Wi-Fi password and I was able to access it, but the Wi-Fi was immediately switched off and I was told that it was solar-powered so I could only charge it on sunny days. There was no lock on the room and the air conditioning was just for show and I couldn't use it. There were also extra charges for meals. I don't think I've ever experienced such a terrible accommodation."

Savasi Island Resort

"I cannot express sufficiently in words, the true perfection of this place. Every day was a day spent in paradise with absolutely amazing staff, beautiful food and an atmosphere of pure ‘family’ and ‘love’. The attention to detail and the welcome we received throughout our stay made it extremely difficult to leave. Thank you each and every one of you, for making our time together so very special, we’ll definitely be back but with the kids next time .. until then, ‘vinaka vakalevu’ "

The Remote Resort

"This resort checks SO many boxes! The people absolutely make this resort one of the most memorable trips we have ever taken! Everyone, and I mean everyone, is amazing. From our first interaction with the boat crew to our final at the dock upon our return - each and every person was kind, caring and genuinely amazing. Elie, Zoe, Marisa, Sia, Valesie, Maria, Graeme, Kim, Wane, Wilson...every single person could not have been more excellent. These staff members made my trip without a doubt. The grounds are manicured and beautiful, the accommodations are comfortable, the food is delicious and varied. The Scuba Diving is the most amazing underwater experience I have ever had. Graeme, Kim, Wane & Wilson give a true concierge diving experience - which was flawless!! The beauty of the Rainbow Reef cannot be understated, it is simply amazing. I cannot number the different fish type we saw, nor can I begin to describe the beauty of the reef!"

Sigasiga Sands Boutique Bungalows

"We just returned from a relaxing 2-night stay at Sigasiga Sands Resort in the spacious Coco Villa, and it exceeded every expectation! The villa offered plenty of parking space and was spotlessly clean, fully equipped with everything needed for cooking, a TV, reliable WiFi, comfortable rooms, plush beds, and stunning sea views. The beach was an absolute highlight pristine white sand and pure relaxation. Our overall experience was a solid 10/10, and it's a must recommend for anyone seeking paradise. We'll definitely be back!"

Sau Bay Resort & Spa Hotels in Vanua Levu

Sau Bay Resort & Spa

"Our 10-day stay at Sau Bay Resort & Spa was absolutely fantastic from the moment we arrived. Before we even reached the beachfront, the entire resort staff was waiting to personally greet us with a traditional Fijian welcome song. Everyone already knew our names and welcomed us with warm smiles and a cheerful, “Bula, Mike!” That first greeting immediately made us feel like part of the Sau Bay family, and that feeling continued throughout our entire stay. Serah, the resort manager, met with us shortly after our arrival and clearly explained how everything at the resort worked. The staff, owner, and dive team were all incredibly friendly, attentive, and welcoming. The bures were clean, comfortable, and beautifully situated in a peaceful tropical setting. While the accommodations and surroundings are wonderful, it is truly the Sau Bay family that makes this resort shine. I also earned my open water scuba-diving certification at Sau Bay Resort & Spa. My instructor, Apo, was exceptionally patient and explained every step in detail, ensuring that I always felt comfortable and confident. The divemasters were professional, safety-conscious, knowledgeable, and simply amazing. The dives at the various Rainbow Reef sites, nearby reefs, and the resort’s own house reef were outstanding. The vibrant corals, abundant marine life, and incredible underwater scenery made every dive memorable. The dining was first-rate. Laisa and Lilly, the chefs, and their team prepared every meal from scratch using locally sourced ingredients, including delicious locally caught seafood. Each dish tasted amazing and was presented with the care and creativity you would expect from a high-end restaurant. The fresh coconuts were always a treat, even with hot sauce! Returning to the “real world” and eating food filled with preservatives was a difficult adjustment after enjoying such fresh, flavorful meals every day. Lui, the beverage director, is a true mixologist. His extensive list of specialty drinks was impressive, and many featured syrups and infusions that he created from scratch. His creativity and attention to detail made every cocktail a unique experience. Sau Bay Resort & Spa offers excellent diving, outstanding food, comfortable accommodations, and a beautiful, relaxing setting. However, what we will remember most is the incredible staff who welcomed us, cared for us, and made us feel at home throughout our stay. Leaving was genuinely difficult. We cannot recommend Sau Bay highly enough and look forward to returning to visit our Sau Bay family again!"

"A very charming place to stay with great attention to detail to make sure everything was special. The beautiful view is the reward of the lodge being in an elevated setting. The host Sharon takes great pride in making your stay memorable. Such a rare experience to be able to feel removed from town but close enough to get to if you chose. Highly recommend this lodge to enjoy the true beauty and experience of Fiji."

Namale Resort & Spa – All Inclusive ★★★★★
"If your looking for the most romantic destinations in Fiji, look no further than the Namale Resort & Spa. I searched the internet for months attempting to find the perfect place for my wife an I to spend our 50th Anniversary. I was looking for somewhere special, and man did I find it. Namale Resort sits on over 500 acres with only 22 Bures and Villas, which makes for the most peaceful and relaxing place we have ever been. The STAFF made this trip special. The resort is great, but it's the staff makes you feel like part of the Namale family. The staff and management prepared a surprise dinner for our 50th Anniversary evening that brought my wife and I too tears. We had gone to the main restaurant for dinner, but upon arrival, we were serenaded with an anniversary song and then taken to the second restaurant, which was opened for just the two of us. We were escorted through the restaurant to our seaside table along a path of lighted candles and flower pedals. Dinner was fantastic and what a view. The staff and management made this trip and our special day of 50 years together the most memorable of all and again, more watery eyes. Thanks for the memories."

Daku Resort ★★★
"We returned to Daku for the umpteemth time, on this occasion with children and grandchildren. And the great beauty is that nothing much changes; as the world accelerates into frantic uncertainty Daku and Savu Savu amble forward to the tune of rustling coconut palms and lapping waters of the bay a few metres away. Forget all the anodyne interchangeable ( and pricey!) big resorts - Daku is deeply Fijian. Nothing is too much trouble for Aubrey, Joe, Joshika, Peggy, Lucy, Tukai, Michelle, Tee and all the others. The grandkids want to try green coconuts? No problem. Where's the good snorkelling? Delia will take you there. Yoga or just relaxation? Sit on the high platform gazing over Savu Savu bay. We just read a Daku review complaining that the towels were too skinny; well if that's your criterion for a good holiday, go to Club Med. We cannot recommend Daku highly enough to anybody who wants to escape the crowds, relax in simple but well-appointed bures and villas, mix with villagers in the fruit market or sit in a simple cafe in the bustling little Savu Savu town up the road. And when you return to Nadi people will say to you, as they have to us on many occasions, 'Ahh you've seen the real Fiji!'"

Savasi Island Resort ★★★★★
"The Lagoon villa we stayed in was lovely. Clean, nicely furnished, comfy bed, crisp, white sheets. Two sinks in bathroom, large open shower. We spent alot of time sitting out by our small, private pool. It was so peaceful. The staff, beginning with Ma, was seriously friendly and so helpful. Not the best resort for off-the-beach snorkeling. The tides are extreme. You have to catch them right in the middle between low and high to avoid stronger currents. We did take a free kayak out in front of the hotel's restaurant and the snorkeling was good. Large tropical fish darting around, with lots of deeper areas all connecting through the rocks. Plus, there are daily snorkeling tours to other well-known snorkeling and diving spots, like Split Rock. Best for last: amazing food, huge portions, 3 big meals a day, always with appetizer, dessert and big smiles from the restaurant staff. Try to catch a night when Rico's singing. He's got a beautiful voice, especially when he's crooning native Fijian music."
