Daku Resort ★★★

📍 5 Lesiaceva Rd, Vanua Levu

"We had a relaxing time at Daku resort in between major diving on Taveuni and then Kadavo. It was both my birthday and Mother’s Day and the resort surprised me with a delicious cake sung in by 10 U.S. Navy personnel who took time off from their humanitarian Middle East operations to serenade me with ‘Happy Birthday, Happy Long Life' !!!! It was very sweet, indeed, and definitely made my day:)"

Naveria Heights Lodge ★★★★

📍 Naveria, Vanua Levu

"Bula bula Wow!!! We stayed at the Naveria Heights Lodge for 3 night and we wish we would have stay longer. What a fantastic experience! The Lodge in on a hill over looking the Pacific ocean and the town of Savusavu, the view is spectacular. We stayed in the Queen room which was extremely comfortable, clean, ceiling fan and AC, very high quality linen bed sheet, conforter and towells. Awesome plunge pool with a spacious deck that comes around to a relaxing area to enjoy your healthy breakfast, have romantic moments or even catch up on your computer work or meditate. Amazing Sharon is very attentive to her guests' needs and so knowledgeable about the medicine of the land and nutrition. We love Sharon and Micheal who took us on adventure tours, he is fun and so knowledgeable. Restaurants near by walking distance of 20 minutes. The gravel road to get up the hill is steep and we walked it up and down 3 times per day, great work out. You have an option to take a 4X4 transportation to go up and down for a small fee. This was a trip of a lifetime, we will be back soon. Grateful for it all, thank you Sharon and Micheal and the Fijian team!!! Vinaka Vakalevu, Sota tale !"

"The service staff is very friendly and greets you with a smile every day. The water is very clear, but there is no soft sand. There is an adult pool and a children's pool with a slide. The children like to play there very much."

Fiji Lodge Vosa Ni Ua

Fiji Lodge Vosa Ni Ua ★★★

📍 5CQW+77X, Bucca Road, Vanua Levu

"The worst part was that they gave me the Wi-Fi password and I was able to access it, but the Wi-Fi was immediately switched off and I was told that it was solar-powered so I could only charge it on sunny days. There was no lock on the room and the air conditioning was just for show and I couldn't use it. There were also extra charges for meals. I don't think I've ever experienced such a terrible accommodation."

"My husband and I stayed at Namale for our honeymoon August 1-9 (Stephen & Gina)! We will never forget how wonderful and kind the staff at Namale is; everyone went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. The resort is beautiful, like a botanic garden and the food is so delicious. My favorite part was the snorkeling/sand bar excursion, the spa, and the romantic dinner locations they reserved for us to make our honeymoon special. The hospitality staff made sure the rooms were clean, and we loved the personal touches and messages the staff left each day. We are already missing the culture, the daily "Bula Bula!" greetings, and the sound of the ocean at the restaurants. We hope to be back for an anniversary trip one day. Vinaka Vakalevu!! ~Gina & Stephen"

"My wife and I stayed here while in savusavu for 3 days. Beautiful property, very clean! The host Ana and everyone on the property is very kind and extremely helpful and gracious! Ocean is right across the street if you want to snorkel, the town is maybe a 15 minute walk or a short taxi. Was only about $7 taxi ride from the airport"

Sau Bay Resort & Spa Hotels in Vanua Levu

Sau Bay Resort & Spa

"Our 10-day stay at Sau Bay Resort & Spa was absolutely fantastic from the moment we arrived. Before we even reached the beachfront, the entire resort staff was waiting to personally greet us with a traditional Fijian welcome song. Everyone already knew our names and welcomed us with warm smiles and a cheerful, “Bula, Mike!” That first greeting immediately made us feel like part of the Sau Bay family, and that feeling continued throughout our entire stay. Serah, the resort manager, met with us shortly after our arrival and clearly explained how everything at the resort worked. The staff, owner, and dive team were all incredibly friendly, attentive, and welcoming. The bures were clean, comfortable, and beautifully situated in a peaceful tropical setting. While the accommodations and surroundings are wonderful, it is truly the Sau Bay family that makes this resort shine. I also earned my open water scuba-diving certification at Sau Bay Resort & Spa. My instructor, Apo, was exceptionally patient and explained every step in detail, ensuring that I always felt comfortable and confident. The divemasters were professional, safety-conscious, knowledgeable, and simply amazing. The dives at the various Rainbow Reef sites, nearby reefs, and the resort’s own house reef were outstanding. The vibrant corals, abundant marine life, and incredible underwater scenery made every dive memorable. The dining was first-rate. Laisa and Lilly, the chefs, and their team prepared every meal from scratch using locally sourced ingredients, including delicious locally caught seafood. Each dish tasted amazing and was presented with the care and creativity you would expect from a high-end restaurant. The fresh coconuts were always a treat, even with hot sauce! Returning to the “real world” and eating food filled with preservatives was a difficult adjustment after enjoying such fresh, flavorful meals every day. Lui, the beverage director, is a true mixologist. His extensive list of specialty drinks was impressive, and many featured syrups and infusions that he created from scratch. His creativity and attention to detail made every cocktail a unique experience. Sau Bay Resort & Spa offers excellent diving, outstanding food, comfortable accommodations, and a beautiful, relaxing setting. However, what we will remember most is the incredible staff who welcomed us, cared for us, and made us feel at home throughout our stay. Leaving was genuinely difficult. We cannot recommend Sau Bay highly enough and look forward to returning to visit our Sau Bay family again!"

Daku Resort ★★★
"We returned to Daku for the umpteemth time, on this occasion with children and grandchildren. And the great beauty is that nothing much changes; as the world accelerates into frantic uncertainty Daku and Savu Savu amble forward to the tune of rustling coconut palms and lapping waters of the bay a few metres away. Forget all the anodyne interchangeable ( and pricey!) big resorts - Daku is deeply Fijian. Nothing is too much trouble for Aubrey, Joe, Joshika, Peggy, Lucy, Tukai, Michelle, Tee and all the others. The grandkids want to try green coconuts? No problem. Where's the good snorkelling? Delia will take you there. Yoga or just relaxation? Sit on the high platform gazing over Savu Savu bay. We just read a Daku review complaining that the towels were too skinny; well if that's your criterion for a good holiday, go to Club Med. We cannot recommend Daku highly enough to anybody who wants to escape the crowds, relax in simple but well-appointed bures and villas, mix with villagers in the fruit market or sit in a simple cafe in the bustling little Savu Savu town up the road. And when you return to Nadi people will say to you, as they have to us on many occasions, 'Ahh you've seen the real Fiji!'"

Naveria Heights Lodge ★★★★
"I spent two glorious, relaxing days at Naveria Heights Lodge. The resort staff are very welcoming and extremely attentive to cleanliness. The included breakfast is varied and plentiful and the fresh-pressed coffee is excellent. I enjoyed the spectacular poolside room with its lovely, sheltered wraparound deck. The bed is comfortable, with luxurious bedding and beautiful woodsy decor. There’s a gorgeous oceanview and several comfortable areas to dine, or relax. There’s a lovely breezy, the temperature was pleasant and there weren’t many flying insects. Naveria Heights also operates excursions and provides transportation. Use the path if walking to town. The Captain’s Table has a huge menu with take-away options. The location was optimal for me, being close to both the harbour and the airport. The airport is tiny and there’s no need to arrive there too early. Naveria Heights Lodge is a well-run, safe, pretty, private, comfortable, centrally-located place to stay and I would return. Thank you to all staff and Zues for your hospitality!"

"If you're visiting the North Island, this hotel offers excellent value for money. They provide free airport shuttle service. If you want to go to a dive shop in town, you can ask the hotel to help you call a taxi. The hotel offers a variety of daily activities; I recommend feeding the sleeper sharks and seeing the turtles. The hotel staff are very welcoming and will greet you with a "bula." Philip, who greeted us, was especially nice. Compared to the high prices on the main island, the town on the North Island is incredibly affordable. Aside from the slightly inconvenient transportation, the North Island is the perfect choice in terms of both price and experience."

Namale Resort & Spa – All Inclusive ★★★★★
"We have recently returned from 5 days in beautiful Namale Resort. Our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer. Every single activity, meal, and staff member was superb. Everyone there immediately made us feel welcome and ensured that our stay would be perfect starting with remembering our names and using them! Just lovely, delightful people. We couldn’t have felt more spoiled. The rooms were so nice and absolutely spotless and cleaned thoroughly daily and towels changed even at night when they did turn down service. Whatever we wanted or needed was provided immediately and with a smile. The nightly entertainment was also a highlight, especially the darling children and adults from the local village. Just delightful. Our sandbar picnic and snorkel was lots of fun, in spite of the windy day. As was our sunset cocktail and snacks and our special good bye breakfast at lover’s point. I can’t say enough positive things about our experience. Special shout out to Jio, Donna, Bui, Kesa, Oni, Lia, Mili and Mili, Brenda, Joe, and Nanise. Apologies if I’ve forgotten anyone. Wish we could come back tomorrow! Sally and Jim"

Gecko Lodge Fiji ★★★
"We’re volunteers for Engineers Without Borders and on assignment in remote portion of Buca Bay. Each weekend we come to SavuSavu for re-supply and R&R. We bumped into Gecko lodge by accident when our regular spot jacked up their prices to insane levels; We are so glad we found Gecko! Jeremy is our host and you could not ask for a nicer, friendly, accommodating person. We had a medical scare and had to extend our stay, and Jeremy worked with us to allow us more time to deal with our situation. The rooms (I’ve stayed in all of them, I think) are beautifully decorated, simple in design, clean as a whistle, and have a refrigerator so we can actually enjoy a cold beverage!! Oh, and they have hot water, too?! Yes, they do! We are on our second weekend stay as I write this, and will stay again next week as our final night in the area. There is a clean and well stocked outdoor kitchen, which we took full advantage of to enjoy the cool am views of the bay. Tea service with kettle are in each room. Finally, if you just cannot take the heat, turn on the AC, it works really well. I cannot imagine lodging anywhere else!"
