Art Hotel Grivola ★★★★
"We have just returned from spending 10 disappointing nights in this hotel. As we have been on extended travels over the winter, I needed to find somewhere in Cervinia that didn't blow the budget, to enable us to still go skiing at end of season. We were offered a choice of three hotels by our travel agent (one of which was the Sertorelli, can't remember the other) and I chose Grivola on the basis it was near to the Cretaz lift. I had read all the reviews and was aware that whilst it may claim to be a 4-star (adhering to all Italian standards yes, but it's not to the standard of an international 4-star) it doesn't have great reviews. I wish I had paid more heed to the reviews and booked the Sertorelli instead - caveat emptor for me. We were placed in room 101 which is one of only two rooms on the first floor of the hotel (the rest is reception, lounge area (barely used) and the manager's office. Adjacent to us (and probably interconnecting) was room 102, which seemed to have a revolving door of people staying in it one or two nights, for the first 5 days of our trip (after that a nice America family arrived and things improved). The main issue with room 101 is that it has no sound proofing and the walls, ceiling and floor are all wooden. There was incessant noise from the restaurant below, people above (some of whom sounded like they were pounding the floor in their ski boots at all times of night and day), people shouting in the street at kicking out time, and noise from room 102. The bathroom of 102 is next to the bed of room 101 - you can literally hear everything. Three times in the first five days we were woken in the night by noise from next door, and I had to go and speak to the people to ask them to be quiet (not because they were partying, but just because every sound was carrying). Overall I think we had disturbed sleep on 9 out of the 10 nights we were there. I could have said something to management but as there was no hope of fixing the soundproofing in the room, it didn't seem worth it. I also am not certain that this was the room we actually paid for (standard versus superior) so I was worried about being moved to a much smaller room if we complained. In terms of facilities, the bath in room 101 was slippery and difficult to get in and out of. I am not a geriatric but I was worried about falling in it - we also could never get sufficient hot water to run a nice full, hot bath post-skiing (I never usually take baths apart from when we're in the mountains, so I always make sure we have one in the room). There were no tea / coffee making facilities and the fridge was stocked with glass bottles, even though there was a sign in the room to say no glass should be in the room. I have never previously been in a hotel where glass is banned generally, so that was most odd - this meant for example you could not take a drink up from the bar to your room. Finally we found most of the staff to be unfriendly / unhelpful, which was a "
Hotel Europa ★★★★
"Excellent location right by apres ski. Shuttle takes you to Pant Maison. Warm and friendly atmosphere and smells beautiful. The rooms were warm and cosy with everything you need. Excellent value for money. Cleaned every day. Staff were super helpful with incredible spa facilities. The sauna was the best. You will enjoy. Breakfast was amazing too. Thanks for a wonderful stay ❤️"
Hotel Principe Delle Nevi ★★★★
"We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Our room (404) was big enough for two adults and two kids ages 8 and 11. The bathroom was spacious with two sinks and a big shower. The half board package was worth it. The breakfast and dinner buffets are not huge but varied enough and all the food is of good quality. In addition to the dinner buffet (starter), you get a choice of 3 first and 3 second dishes. The desserts were all very tasty. The restautant staff were friendly (bravo Eleonora). The bar area is cosy, with lots of sofas and a live fire. We also liked the spa. The pools are on the small side, but big enough for the kids to play around at the end of a day on the slopes, as long as you stay with them and they are not too noisy (which is sensible). The outdoor hot tub is good and so are the sauna and steam room. The apres ski bar is very cool. There is a live DJ several times a week and the best thing is that you cannot really hear the music from the main hotel area. The free transfers in and out of town were quick, we never had to wait more than 5 minutes. It is decent value for the star rating and location, would recommend it."
Cervino - VRetreats, SLH Collection ★★★★★
"Amazing place great atmosfer and outstanding service. We enjoyed a lott."
Sertorelli Sporthotel ★★★★
"The rooms are spacious. The wellness centres out of this world. So easy to get out skiing the food is like a 5 star Michigan restaurant. The staff are kind and fun and friendly"
Aux Pieds du Roi - Suite & Spa ★★★★
"This is our third visit during the ski season and we hope to return again. Excellent apartments for a family ski holiday. Variety of sized apartments available in a very well run 'chalet-type' hotel. Good facilities - boot room, swimming pool, gym, spa, restaurant. High quality rooms, well furnished, well resourced. Less than 5 minutes stroll to chair-lifts with onward access to whole resort. The most out-standing part is the genuine care and attention given by the hosts/owners, Barbara and Lorenzo. They do everything they can to help - e.g. - dinner recommendations and reservations, ski passes, accommodating early and late departures etc. etc. Would highly recommend for couples or families."
Hotel Al Piolet
"The hotel is strategically located, and you can see the Matterhorn from its rooms. The room was clean, and everything was well maintained. I’d like to give a special mention to the staff at the Opera restaurant—especially sommelier Vlady, as well as Francesca and Michaella. We were truly satisfied—I highly recommend it!"
Hotell Millefiori- Alpine Event Lodge ★★
"Best nights of our vacation were spent at Hotel Millefiori-can’t wait to return and possibly stay much longer. The breakfasts and dinners were out of this world. The owners and staff work so hard to please the guests and I sensed many guests were repeat customers. It was a great value as well."
Maison Le Cler ★★★
"Let's start by saying that the B&B is very beautiful and our room (Joseph Louis) was very nice, well-furnished, welcoming, and clean, although it was really poorly soundproofed (we could hear everything going on in the adjacent or above room). The location is strategic for watching the "dezarpa," and the nearby highway, on the other hand, doesn't disturb the peace at all. The breakfast, which we had read was gargantuan, we found good, with genuine, homemade products (we asked for soy or oat milk, but they didn't have any). What really ruined our stay was the intense cold we suffered in the room. Since it was a rainy weekend with outside temperatures between 2 and 5 degrees Celsius, we asked several times if the heating could be turned on; we were told that the central heating would come on at 7:00 PM. In reality, it was turned on around 8:00 PM and turned off around 10:00 PM, while the next morning it never came on. It's a shame, because Mrs. Mara's kindness was truly exceptional, and she was very helpful and thoughtful (we even had the room available until the afternoon). Definitely worth considering in the height of summer, but avoid at the end of the season."
