Do no plan to return
The hotel facilities are good, place is clean and safe. I had a really bad experience mainly with front desk people both in checkin and checkout.
When I arrived, after a long flight the men in front desk made a lot of difficulties to release the room because I had no visa. The situation is, that I do not need a visa due the type of passport I have. I showed the Indian embassy webpage, but they were not able to understand and cooperate. I even showed the customs stamp on my passport showing I regularly entry the country. They simple did not want to understand.
They refuse to release the room, but charged my debit
card. After long discussion I could check-in. They void the charge in my card, but until now the amount does not appear in my balance.
On checkout there was more confusion related to billing.
There was a wedding at the hotel, so it was noisy, the sound isolation is not so good. You can hear the musicthe voices on corridor.
Summarizing, do not intend to return to this place they seems not to know what they are doing there.

The staff here are so kind and lovely. The hotel provides much needed respite from the bustle of the city around it. It is clean, safe, and the food is lovely. Very comfortable amidst the chaos outside. We highly recommend this wonderful hotel to anyone travelling to Vadodara.

Had my evening meal in the hotel restaurant, which served a fantastic buffet. Unfortunately, and as with all buffets, there was far more to eat than I could possibly manage. My server, Kusum, made the experience even better with her service and customer care. I will be coming back.

Excellent staff, good food although restaurant dinner is served until 7:00pm, no food from I believe 1 pm to 7pm

The staff at Grand Mercure Surya Palace were very accommodating Making the overall experience a somewhat homely experience. The restaurant staff catered to our every need and were amazing , too many to name. The room cleaning staff was accommodating and good. Nilesh in the Gym was so good that I cannot praise him enough and I strongly recommend you see him. I had a bad experience regarding my room and no attention was given to my complaints although after calling the manager on duty him self the matter was resolved.

Very nice hotel, great well equiped and clean room, friendly and very responsive staff, good breakfast restaurant. Quiet and relaxed atmosphere. Not central, but easily accessible location. Some difficulty getting a taxi at the reception. Richshaws are however cheap and abundantly available on the street - and the traffic in the city center is dense and easier to get throug in Richshaw.
