Premier Inn Ulverston

"Chose a short break here based mainly on previous reviews and we were certainly not disappointed. Handy location for the south of the Lake District. One of the smallest Premier Inns we've stayed in but that's reflected in the friendly atmosphere. All the staff we met were very welcoming. Be sure to book your meals on arrival though, as the restaurant is rather small. We had the "Meal Deal" which is very good value and everything we had was well cooked and served with a smile. Buffet style breakfast with your choice of eggs freshly cooked to order. Room was fully up to the usual Premier Inn standards. Clean and comfortable. We had 102, which was at the far end of the corridor, with the added benefit that you are undisturbed by late comers passing by during the night. That said, the hotel was very quiet anyway. Would certainly be very happy to stay again when we're next in the area."

The Sun Inn

"Booked 2 nights in a refurbished double room 20, Monday to Wednesday, at £98 per night. The room was on the top floor and very small. The carpet was stained and the hanging rail and bed were broken. We were moved to room 12 on the second floor another supposedly refurbished room. It was much larger but still not as clean as I would expect. There is no suitcase stand or shelf in the bathroom to put your wash bags and one small hook for the towels. All the corridors to the bedrooms have a faint smell of urine. The stair bannister rail is so sticky I did not touch it a second time. Needless to say after an 8 hour drive we stayed for one night and came home writing off the cost of the second night. The only saving grace to this b&b is the young staff who tried to help out."

"A bit far from Windermere town. Limited parking space. Luckily I arrived early and managed to get a parking lot Good full Cumbrian breakfast. Room and bed is ok except that the room heating needs improvement."

"Fantastic place! - Really impressed with the whole process from booking right through to leaving. Diana was really helpful and friendly. On hand to answer any questions and very informative. The accommodation itself it’s immaculate and the added extras such as tea, coffee, biscuits etc are a really nice touch. We stayed in the 2 bedroom Helsinki Apartment with our two dogs. The beds are huge and really comfy and the living area/kitchen is spacious. As for the location, it’s perfect for walking to all the different pubs and restaurants but also great for getting onto the canal for a walk with the dogs. We visit our family in Ulverston regularly and this will definitely be the first place we check for availability moving forward. "
