Staybridge Suites Tyler University Area

Tanya is an amazing lady, and her customer service was second to none. She was able to help out me and gave me the utmost respect even when I got frustrated. IHG hotels never cease to amaze me. If you are ever in Tyler Texas for a business trip and need somewhere to stay, I highly recommend Staybridge Suites.

Elevator broke. We could not go up to our rooms on the third floor, One person had to bring our things down by the stairs since two of us use walkers and I have a bad knee. We spent the night in a double suite on the first floor. They voided our keys saying the rooms were rented for the night. So we are moving again.This has caused us to be later leaving and we will be charged for tonight whether we stay or go. Rooms are nice other than the low commodes. Most of the staff are very nice. I had reserved for nine nights. Hope to leave after eight.

Important detail: this hotel went through a major renovation in the Fall of 2023. Be sure to keep this in mind and check dates on reviews! That said, our stay was absolutely amazing!! Right when we walked in, our jaws dropped when we saw the fireplace in the modern lobby. When we walked into our room, my husband was grinning ear to ear (he had to work remotely for 2 days during our stay, and was relieved to have such a nice set up!) Everything was clean, modern, fresh, and comfortable. And the BREAKFAST! Chicken and waffles, a breakfast taco bar, biscuits and gravy, real bacon, waffles — we leaped out of bed every morning to get that breakfast. The only problem we ran into was that the pool definitely was NOT renovated and was pretty rough. It is enclosed, but the windows are open so it’s technically outdoors. The hot tub has been filled in with concrete, so there is no hot tub. The pool got the job done for my kids, but I wouldn’t hype up the pool or stay JUST for the pool. Hopefully they’ll renovate it during a second phase. Overall, this hotel is FANTASTIC and I so highly recommend it if you’re staying in the Tyler area!

We stayed here for a week and it was a perfect set up for our two "old lady" dogs. I called the day before and asked for a 1st floor room near an outside door if possible. They were able to accommodate us and it was a breeze for quick potty breaks. Plenty of grassy areas for the dogs to check out.

I would NEVER stay at this hotel! My hotel reservation was cancelled on 10/14/23. The FIRST LIE that I was told was that I cancelled the reservation by their desk clerk on duty at 5:38 p.m. I was left in a distant city with no help even getting other accommodations there are anywhere. On 10/15 IHG was contacted and they contacted the hotel directly. The person on duty said that the reason the HOTEL CANCELLED the reservation was that there was no credit card attached to the reservation. As it was a prepaid and confirmed reservation, the IHG rep looked and saw that there was nothing wrong with the credit card, and that the hotel had cancelled the reservation. The SECOND LIE that this hotel told today by their GM was that the credit card was declined. It was a preapproved and authorized charge. After checking with the credit card company, it was never even attempted to be run by the hotel and it certainly was not declined. They simply chose to cancel my reservation arbitrarily at 2:52 p.m. (8 minutes prior to check in) and give the room to someone else. They have lied to me, they have lied to IHG, and in the process, changed their story every time their lie was disproved and they had to come up with a new story. CLEARLY the hotel staff, beginning with the desk clerk on duty, the manager, and most recently the GM do not have the truth in them and leave a 20+ year IHG member out to dry. They do not care about the customer and I would recommend everyone stay away from this property. If they make a mistake, they will not own it; they will tell lie after lie and change their story repeatedly. “That is their story and they are sticking to it....” whichever story (lie) helped them to explain away their INEPTNESS and SHODDY BUSINESS PRACTICES – STAY AWAY FROM THIS PROPERTY -DON’T BE A VICTIM LIKE I WAS.

This is a great place to stay. They had food and wine for free as part of the stay. There was an exercise room, swimming pool, laundry, internet, and we had a suite with a kitchenette. The staff was great. I heartily recommend this establishment!

I loved their 2 bedroom suites. I give them a 10/10 for comfort. The bedrooms and living area are nice and spacious. The kitchen is full size with a bar for sitting and fully equipped with kitchen appliances. They also had a dishwasher with dishwashing soap. The refrigerator has its own ice maker. The breakfast was great with multiple options each day. The only thing I didn't like was the indoor pool was closed our entire stay for maintenance on some of the hottest days in summer. Their sister hotel is the Laquinta Inn next door, which has an outside pool. It is the accommodation for your inconvenience, which is less than a 5 minute walk.I would call before my stay to see if the pool is open at Staybridge before I book, only if you are booking because the pool is indoors. The front desk people were hardly at the desk, kind of rude and housekeepers will only clean the room on request the next morning before they start cleaning, other than a few hiccups. I would DEFINITELY stay here again. This hotel has great amenities.

Extremely friendly and attentive staff. My wife and I stayed here for several days. We travel to Tyler frequently and have been looking for a place to stay when we visit for 2 weeks at a time. The laundry facilities were very convenient. Service to our rooms was done very well. The free breakfast was overall good as far as these types of breakfasts go. Staff was always courteous, busy and helpful. We would stay again.

We chose this hotel due to its closeness to the main Tyler hospitals. We checked in and checked out in less than 18 hours, but stayed long enough to get a good feel for the accommodations. The staff was cordial and helpful. There was a manager's reception that included meatballs, toasted ravioli, and tossed salad, which was good. Also, two tap beers and choice of wine is included. We left too early to check out the breakfast. The king room was large and being an extended stay, it included a small kitchen with a full size refrigerator with ice maker. The king size bed was very comfortable with good pillows and quality linens. The bath shower was good and hot (The only concern was a loose handle on the control that came off. but when I told the front desk they said they'd get right on it). Bottom line, we are usually Marriott clients, but their locations were way south on Broadway, but my experience with Staybridge makes a very tempting alternative when location is important.
