Harmony Motel

This was the second time I stayed at Harmony Motel, and I plan to return whenever I visit Joshua Tree in the future. It is a relaxed, open venue with a friendly vibe. Family-owned. No frills, apart from a small swimming pool and sauna, but a lot of nice essentials. They make available a well-equipped, shared kitchen, which was great for preparing backpack lunches. Also a 20 minute drive to the park's north entrance.

My wife and I love road trips and when we travel we prefer to stay in unique motels, boutique hotels, and B&Bs rather than chain lodgings. The Harmony Motel fit perfectly with our preference. The owner Ash was wonderful, the room was comfortable and ours included a kitchen that was just what we were looking for. The location was perfect, close to the Joshua Tree National Park that we were visiting.

I did a fair amount of research prior to my family’s first trip to the Joshua Tree area. Finding a place that would be central to the park and surrounding communities with some privacy for my wife and two young adult children was key. I am so glad I found Harmonic House – a property owned and managed by the Harmony Motel. The 2-bedroom house was very well appointed with nice desert tones and is very private. The back patio faces east and we were treated with an amazing sunrise our first morning. I loved the location of the property on the outskirts of 29 Palms making it convenient to explore the nearby communities of 29 Palms and Joshua Tree not to mention its proximity to two of the park entrances. The house was updated, very clean, spacious and the perfect escape for my family. Ash, the owner, was great to work with. Without question I would highly recommend spending your Joshua Tree trip at the Harmonic House.

I love this place. Have been staying here for years. The rooms are amazing and totally quaint. The Cabins are my favorite. Like having your own home in the desert at a great price. The views from the balcony are spectacular. If you travel to Joshua Tree this is place to stay for sure.

I've just returned from a month's stay at the Harmonic House/Harmony Motel and I'm still feeling the wonder of the compound. The House was airy and spacious, way clean and quiet. The washer/dryer, air fryer, cable TV are a great plus on the domestic side. The views are spectacular, both of the mountains and 29 Palms. Be sure to let the warm air blow gently over you as you lie by the pool on a lounger looking up at the stars at night. Walking the property becomes a meditative experience, observing the various cacti, the scooting road runners, hopping rabbits and the wily geckos. Various stores and restaurants are a few minutes away and 29 Palms has a great mural tour and a timeless Historical Plaza. And a shout out to the Bamboo Garden, who kept me fed with wonderful Chinese food! Owner Ash is a gracious hostess, offering tips on things to do and places to go. Don't even get me going about relaxing in the spa on a hot day, but feeling nothing but cool and calm.
