I did not want to write this post but as tui and the Grand bahia princess tulum will take no responsibility or owner ship of there bed bug infestation in rooms I now feel I have to make this public knowledge. We stayed in tulum in villa 2 apartment 0225 for two weeks this was a nightmare holiday. The whole time we was there we was being eaten alive for the first week the convinced us it was mosquitoes and then we noticed it was while we was in bed. We reported this to the reception, quest relations the cleaners and the tui rep on site. We showed th evidence when we had jad enough of being fob off and laughed at from the hotel staff. It took them over 24 hours to listen and move us room. They did not inspect the room properly. We was present when this was done there was numerous bugs on all the walls and the mattress had all the signs of a bed bug infestation. They did not speak English so we could understand what they was saying and all left the room with no fumigation nor did the follow hotel policy with checking our belongings. The moved us into room 0125 villa one. They made sure they sprayed the mattress even though the hotel supervisor lalie and guest relationship manager kevin said mexico does not have bed bugs so when I asked why jabe they sprayed the bed they yet again laughed and avoided the question. Please share this post and avoid at all cost. The hotel main buffet restaurant has birds and cotis and raccoons inside. You will have to clean your dining chairs as they have bird poo and food from where they wipe the tables and not the chairs. When it rains numerous roofs leaks which we see plenty of people slip and hurt themselves due to this. Please share this post as this is not a 5 star resort. Tui and the Bahia Principe should be naked and shamed we don't work hard and save up for a holiday to feel you are not listened to or treated fair. I made a complaint with tui they opened and closed my cases numerous times to then pass me through to the legal teams for them to come back with a complete lie. When asking for the full reports of there investigation they said I am not able to have this information. When we left the room 0225 all the did was send the cleaners in and to my surprise they moved a family in the room the next day. No fumigation had happened. Shame on them. I will be taking this higher as this is not fair nor right. As mentioned you don't go on holiday for that treatment and to pay to be placed in a infested room. Please beware and think twice. Please feel free to share this post as this needs to be know to paying customers.

I'm currently on day 4 of a 14 day holiday. I'm laid up in agony in bed due to a damaged tailbone and bruised bottom!!! It's rained continuous for the past 3 days and I slipped down 6 steps outside cobalt the sister hotel. The steps and tiles in these hotels are lethal! Don't get me wrong the food, staff and everything else is wonderful. But due to lack of staff wiping the water away off the steps it looks like my holidays ruined 😔 theres no elevators to the 2nd and 3rd floor rooms and on several occasions my daughters slipped. Come to this place when it's not rainy season and like today when the suns blazing you'll have an amazing holiday with lots of wildlife to entertain you and your family

This is my 3rd year in a row visiting Bahia Principe Grand Tulum. After my last two visits, I sung the praises of this resort and even convinced my fellow mom, friends and their families to come visit because my children and I have such a great experience. After this most recent visit. Not only will I be warning people away, but I'll be writing reviews. Any chance I get. The pools are still in decent shade and the rooms are still impeccable. However, the hotel is massively understaffed and things that are broken are not getting fixed. There are two children's pools and a splash pad set off in an area by themselves. If at least a 10-minute walk to the main pool with the pool bar and the lobby bar. In the past there had been a self-serve survey sa area and soda area next to the Children's pool and a beach bar with cocktails and kid from include. This year both self-serve bars are broken. Aunt, the school bar only has beer. So as a parent I either have to pack my children up and walk 10 minutes to the main bar to get a cocktail while on vacation or anything for my children to drink other than water. Obviously Eddie Karen knows this is absolutely not going to happen. So now I'm paying five star prices to stay at a resort where I am literally drinking water and that's it. Completely unacceptable. The staff is so trying so hard to make up for it, but clearly there's not a whole lot they can do it. So for any parents wishing to have a relaxation vacation with their children and enjoy a cocktail or too. This is not the place for you!

Personally wouldn’t go back to this resort and the reason are below. As a well travelled person this hotel isn’t 4 stars not even close. Let me explain why. 1st. The cleanliness of the hotel isn’t a 4 star standard. Mexican raccoons crawling everywhere over cups, coffee machines, walls, my moms legs yup you read that right a baby raccoon climbed my moms leg she was so lucky it didn’t bite her. They climb in all the bins looking for left over food or jump on your plate given the chance, this isn’t what you’d expect. When vomit has been left on the floor for 3 hours and staff members just pass it without clearing or anything, it’s just bad. 2nd. It rains a lot, and there is NO non skid mats to be seen, I watched 4 people fall and seriously hurt themself in the space of 30 mins. I personally skidded with my 5 month old in my arms. Thank god I was holding onto his stroller or things could have been very bad. For a large hotel chain like Bahia you’d think they could invest in some non skid mats for the rainy season. The amount of injuries that occur must be mind blowing. 3rd. The food is repetitive day after day not much changes. It’s also lukewarm I think in the whole 2 weeks I had 2 hot meals. Not ideal. The tags didn’t match up to the items on show and putting gluten free tags where gluten free things aren’t is a recipe for disaster as I found out. Some of the meat was questionable. - Brazilian restaurant - worst meal I’ve had in years I have no idea what meats were being served grizzly fatty oily wouldn’t feed to the raccoons let along humans. - Japanese restaurant - we arrived soaked due to the rain and not having an umbrella we repeatedly asked for one but it never arrived. The buggies passed us because we had a stroller I’m assuming. When asked if they had a towel or something to dry off was told NO. So we say and ate a very mediocre meal soaking wet. I’m not sure the chef knows what pad Thai is because it certainly wasn’t what was given. Best part of the meal spring rolls. - Mexican restaurant - not sure why it’s classed as an extra it’s a buffet help yourself so not really worth wasting a restaurant booking for. - Indian restaurant - was very nice the food was hot and prepared well. The servers were polite and happy to help. - Don Pablo - was looking forward to a steak as had been told it was the best restaurant by friends who has previously been. There was no real steak on the menu anymore just beef cheek yawn not exactly luxury. With that being said the meal was nice. Just not as expected - Truck - was also under some renovation and didn’t have everything on the menu ) not really fast food we waited over 30 mins for some chicken wings ) and the ice cream machine wasn’t always working. 4th. Rooms are spacious and cosy, our cleaner Rosalba was amazing. And the mini bar was stocked daily we didn’t want the beer so asked for extra water and that was given daily. However - we had to ask for the room to be fumigated it was covere

Beautiful resort, but be aware captive dolphins are kept onsite. I found it unacceptable that Bahia Principe and TUI are promoting a resort that keeps captive dolphins without disclosing this information to potential customers. I was truly shocked to see dolphins kept in a small pool just a few meters from the ocean. I have urged them to be transparent about the activities and the attractions at their resorts so that consumers can make informed decisions about their holidays. As a nature lover, I was deeply disappointed by this lack of transparency so I am sharing my experience with others to ensure you are aware of the truth behind Hotel Tulum. I have written to them with my concerns and their guest relations team replied to say the dolphins have never known the open seas experience, they are born in captivity, the attraction is run by a professional organization, and the dolphins are kept in specially created aquariums. Still heart breaking to see if you are a nature lover and are planning to visit the resort for the fauna & flora, not what you would expect to see! The hotel is beautiful as is the surroundings but for this reason I would not return.
