Dining Experience: The restaurant offers high-quality Greek cuisine and a diverse menu, with positive feedback on the ambiance and service during dinner. Breakfast options are varied, though some guests mention limited availability or high prices for certain items.

Avoid Casa Gitano at all costs. We stayed here for part of our honeymoon, and it was an awful experience from start to finish. The room was dirty when we arrived — the sheets had visible stains and the towels were thin and worn. Since the stains were on the outer layer of the bedding, I tried to overlook it, but I couldn’t even use the towels because the shower had no hot water. When we switched to the overhead shower, it sprayed water up and all over the bathroom. Despite the hotel having low occupancy guests were put in the room above ours where they made noise until 1 am, it seemed like they were stomping and moving around the furniture. Not at all peaceful or relaxing. The hotel has no pool which is fine, we planned to mostly lay by the beach, the beach was full of seaweed and trash, all the other hotels I have stayed at in Tulum clear the beaches so that they can be enjoyed. There is also no food or drink service at the loungers by the resort, only near the restaurant/day club. We were told breakfast was included, yet at the restaurant we were given a bill and informed that only coffee, juice, and toast were in the included breakfast. We were charged for an extra breakfast entrée, and after pointing it out to three different staff members, each accused us of lying. At checkout, I was told we would be charged for the sheets — the same ones that were already stained when we arrived. Both the front desk attendant and a man who appeared to be the manager insisted we had ruined the sheets. When I asked for proof, they showed me close-up photos of linens that weren’t ours and claimed the maids had already removed the originals. I’ve never been treated so disrespectfully while traveling. The service was absolutely abhorrent and the staff should be ashamed at how they treat their guests. If you’re visiting Tulum, stay ANYWHERE else: Casa Malca, Nomade, Be, and Sana are all far better choices.

Our stay at Casa Gitano was only one night and it was far down the single road going into Tulum (about 30 mins). We enjoyed the beautiful beach view from our room. The room was smaller than we imagined at 500 sq ft but we had just enough space for two. The major issue was the water. We had no hot water the entire time. It got lukewarm at best. But overall we still enjoyed our stay.
