Lodge on the Desert

Wonderful hotel with beautiful views of the surrounding mountains, delicious food and a relaxing pool & hot tub. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable, we especially loved the built in terracotta fireplace. For only around $450 for two nights (including the security deposit) I highly recommend you stay here during your visit.

The property was well maintained. Staffing was excellent and very helpful. The pool and hot tub were clean and towels are high grade. Breakfast is included and from a menu, better than your typical buffet breakfast. Juice was not included, which was weird. This hotel is exceptional, we would stay again.

We woke up at three in the morning itchy, and when we turn on the lights, we had bedbugs bites all over our body. We checked the bed and we found bedbugs on the bed the manager, avoid us and still charged us for the night. Kept trying to call him to try to refund us because we had a horrible stay but the manager kept avoiding us till this day. Cautious when you go to this hotel, they are known for bedbugs.

This gem of a mini-resort is perfect for vacation or business. Beautiful and clean, with friendly people ready to help make your stay the very best it can be! Don't miss out on Lodge on the Desert - the pictures don't even come close to doing it justice.

We are locals who wanted a really nice staycation. You'd never think behind those walls on Alvernon lies this absolute historic gem! We specifically were looking for the jacuzzi tub which is such a rare amenity anymore, but the whole hotel was a great experience. It started by pulling up to a beautiful courtyard statue and going to check in. On the way into the lobby I was greeted by the friendly local cat who's name I learned was Charlie. Check in was great! Super friendly, answered questions and wished us a happy anniversary. The room was great. Very spacious and well painted even though obviously historic. Updated TV and fireplace, lovely bedding, rest all in great repair. Bathroom was wonderful with tile up to the bath, a seperate shower and a private toilet with two sinks and natural diffuse light. I could dream of having a bathroom like that! Water nice and hot and consistent, tub worked great and was very relaxing and fun. We loved the on grounds restaurant Cielo as well. Walked up under strung up lights to eat on the magical patio by another fireplace. Very awesome waiter who was funny, friendly and answered even our silly questions. We ended up taking a cheesecake to go after back to the room and enjoying not just the tub but also the fireplace where we laid in front and played mancala while it flickered warmly. TV let us hook up an HDMI cable to watch shows from my husband's laptop after. Bed was very comfortable and we had a great night's sleep! Was a bit loud in the morning when other guests left and housekeeping started around 10 but...i mean it was 10 o'clock, that's fine, lol! We missed the on-site breakfast but since we know the area that was perfectly fine, though maybe next time. There will definitely be a next time. Such a unique and magical place hiding right in unassuming midtown.
