After 30-40 minutes of walking along the mountain path from Kusatsu, you will arrive at Manza Onsen, which is located at an altitude of 1,800m. The smell of sulfur is very strong. The temperature is lower than Kusatsu Onsen, and although there is no air conditioning, it is cold at night if you leave the window open. There is nothing around except the hot spring, but this is not particularly inconvenient during your stay. After checking in, I went to the open-air bath, where the bath attendant massaged the water and measured the temperature. The source of the hot spring is said to be 80 degrees, but when I went in, the temperature was just right and I wanted to stay in it forever. The indoor bath has a very high wooden roof, and it is fun just to look at the atmosphere. The shower is a push-type, but there was one that turned off after about 5 seconds. The other showers were fine. The temperature of the private bath was also just right. After the bath, you can eat popsicles, coffee, tea, and herbal tea in the lounge. There is also a reading space and manga, so you can relax. We ordered the Joshu beef sukiyaki course, but in addition to the sukiyaki, they also served a lot of tempura and teppanyaki. It was a little difficult to finish it all. The reviews said that they served a lot, so I had a loaf of bread I bought in Kusatsu for lunch and dinner, but my wife hardly wanted to eat breakfast the next day. (Everything tasted very good...). When I went to the open-air bath around 7am, there was a wild rabbit having breakfast outside. Its tail was very cute. The staff were also polite. I think it must be very difficult to maintain this level of service and quality at such a high altitude. I took one star off because the wifi was easily disconnected and the amount of food was large, but I would like to go again.

Take advantage of the 7.5 tatami mat plan with two lunch boxes. Outside the window is the slope of the mountain, and it has a canopy so you can't even see the sky. When I asked the front desk, they said other rooms were similar. Lunch was delicious as usual. Especially beef. However, even though I told them in advance that I have a shellfish allergy, shrimp was included twice. Didn't you tell the kitchen? The bath smells of sulfur and feels like a real "hot spring". There is a massage shop on the opposite side of the bath, quick 20 minutes 2000 yen. It was so good that I extended it.

Both the exterior and interior are more splendid than the nearby main building. The front desk seems to be handled by one person. The corridor is a little cold. The room is narrow, especially the toilet and water area are next to the corridor. TV is small. The futon was placed from the beginning. Sasakusa manju is the arrival sweets? It was delicious. The washing space of the indoor bath in the large public bath is practically unusable. Well, I'm glad there weren't that many customers. It was hotter than the indoor bath, probably because of the large amount of hot spring thrown into the open-air bath. Slightly hot to hot. The indoor bath is slightly hot. The open-air bath was wider than it looks in the picture, but maybe because it's shallow, even if the water is hot, it won't warm you up. The next day, the temperature of the open-air bath dropped slightly, but it was still a little hot, so I couldn't take a long bath. Semi-private dinner. Basically, cold dishes stand out. However, none of the flavors are bad. There weren't any outstandingly delicious items, but I was satisfied because there were a lot of items. It may be difficult for the elderly to eat all the items. Breakfast is better than other inns. I don't feel lonely. As a general comment, it was a pity that I could not take a long bath.
